Growing and Harvesting Rutabagas -The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener Straight to the Point
The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener Straight To The Point is a short series giving great information to help everyone to be better in the garden and home.
When I thin rutabaga seedlings, should I bury them deeper up to the 1st set
of leaves or mound some soil around them? They look healthy, just curved
stems from planting too thickly. Great video as always.
Yes you can eat the leaves, you could juice the bulb but it would have a
very earth tastes to it if you did you would want to add apple or other
fruits to it so it is not so strong

Have you tried kholrabi yet? It's our favorite. Very similar to the stem
part of broccoli, good raw or cooked. I've never had any luck with turnips
or rutabaga, but I keep trying each year anyway! Thanks for the video.

I just tried this recipe and it was absolutely phenomenal! I only ever
tasted rutabaga boiled/mashed during the holiday season and never thought
I'd actually like the taste of it. But when you mentioned it had a
potato-onion flavor to it, I was curious (it just doesn't taste the same in
my family's recipes...).
Slicing the vegetable is by far the most work involved, but it was worth
it...even the family enjoyed the outcome of the recipe!. It really is even
better than regular breakfast potatoes....that enhanced potato-oniony
goodness is infused in every bite! Thank you for this recipe! :-)
Great story!!!! Blessings!!! I have a question: in your story were you
saying that eating low carb caused you to have the anal cancer? Please
clarify for me because I could have just misunderstood what you were
saying. Thanks in advance!:)
I have never tried the rutabaga and this looks very good. I was sold on you
when you added the saved bacon grease. Go Southern. thank you for the
video.

mulching is good for weed suppression, grass clippings are a high nitrogen
mulch, which is good for plants. The down side of mulching is that it
provides hiding placee for slugs. A danger of grass clippings is if a lawn
weed killer has been used on the grass it can kill the vegetable plants the
mulch has been applied to.
Today I pulled a couple I planted back in April, variety Magres and they
were terrible, tasted horrible too so I threw them in the compost. better
luck next year for me hopefully.
Hey man I subbed you earlier this spring, and have been catching as many
