my hamster bit me, but hamsters can't see well so they use their smell and hearing, she thought i was her food and bit me. But i wasn't mad at her. I'm sure there is a reason why your hamster bit you. :)

I had the same kind of hamster, mine was also a boy named hammy, he was the best! My other two that I have right now are good, although they both have bit me at least 2 times lol but I'm workin on it

Hi Isabel! So what you need to do first is give your hamster a couple days to himself even if you've done so already. During that time, rub his bedding between your fingers for a while to get your scent in. Little by little, start offering treats to your hamster and make sure your hand isn't shaking and you aren't nervous. They see this and get aggressive towards you. Once they recognize your scent and trust you a little bit, try to give them a little pet on the back and don't be scared. Maybe what you think is attacking is really the hamster just nibbling on your hand to get an idea of who you are. If he bites again, repeat the process. After a while, he'll probably start biting and you can start scooping him up and holding him.I have a question, are you putting the hand in the cage during daytime? Because hamsters are nocturnal and if they're woken up they'll get aggressive and bite. Always make sure it's in the evening when they wake up. Hope this helped :)

Different smells maybe. And they can sense fear. So if your scared it will bite you more

also my mum puts her hands in the cage and he doesn't bite her I don't get it..

I'm not too sure about that,maybe if you try sprinkling a few sunflower seeds around then she may nibble them and you could try to offer her them by hand.Also if it is a new cage she might be a little stressed out because everything is new,just keep an eye on her.:)

A hamster is never too old to tame. However the earlier you tame them the easier it tends to be.If you wish to tame them then expect to take the steps very slowly!:D

I found the last treat you showed in the WalMart Where i live! But I doubt my hamster would ike them because she only eats yogurt drops and chewy sticks she is so picky! I found a new treat that maybe you would like to try out?! they are yogurt drops but my hamster loves them more then the regular ones! Please reply!

Captain Crunchers ( was it that) :D I have always wanted to try the Papaya pieces, I just get one that are for people :) and that was a LONG description ;), but it is REALLY annoying when you have people telling you your wrong when you know your right, morons ;)

i have a sony power shot & i use a little mini tripod as the stand. nothing fancy :) haha i guess you could say that. I have dealt with animals since i was 11 ish years old so i've picked up a little info here & there. I will try making as many as i can!

yes it is okay for all hamsters, not just syrian hamsters. Not to much though as egg is very high in protien & to much in large amounts can cause weight gain
