Growing the Ponderosa Lemon Tree and a Look at the Fruit it Produces
The Ponderosa lemon tree is a great variety that produces a big harvest with huge lemons. In this video I tell you what I know about them, my experiences with ...
i have two meyer lemon trees. one (larger one) inside a screened patio and
its thriving and giving me amazing fruit. i have another one in the ground
outside and i had great crops from it but now this little tree is getting
hit with little black spots and powder and some of its leaves are getting
discolored, curly, and are falling off. it also has some pest bug issues.
how do u recommend i go about treating this tree. its grafted and i believe
was treated for the really bad disease that citrus gets that everyone
freaks out about. both trees are in fact. btw the tree thats not doing good
is about 3ft tall. (both trees were purchased as citrus bushes. thanks!

+TheFishGuy86 Ut oh, yeah. If it has citrus blight, there really is only one way to deal with it... They generally cut them down and burn them. If it isn't that, then maybe I would try a strong garlic and dish soap mixture, spray that all over and hope for the best. I personally don't spend much effort with trees that are dying fast. I would rather just plant something new that is easier to grow.
+Pete Kuhns Definitely, they are a little tough to grow with salty irrigation, so I need to find spots in my yard where the irrigation won't hit the leaves.
Picking a homegrown lisbon lemon from the tree
Talk about a great lemon tree! This is a lisbon lemon citrus tree growing here in Arizona and has been planted in the ground going on it's 3rd year. Please ...
I could tell how large it was by the size of your hand. I'm pretty sure
you're not 6 years old. For the lemon was huge. This is not nice ! Haha For
you to show this to us who lives in colder climates. We do not have this
option to grow lemon trees. But I do thank you for sharing it with us..
Keep up the good Videos..
hey thanks! Although I do have some girly hands, lol this lemon was larger
than the others. I forget sometimes how good we have it here in the desert
with our growing season. The wife can't get enough lemons so in turn I need
to pay the most attention to these trees, lol, gad you enjoyed watching :)
thanks a lot, we threw it in the juicerm skin and all since I knew it
wasn't grown with any chemicals...tasted insane! If you have a juicer there
is a simple lemon aid recipe with a small slice of lemon, an apple and some
grapes
that was great! hahaha I never get tired of his jokes and heard a few new
ones from what I've seen on the show. would of said hilarious, but you know
how that goes lol
I just got my Meyer lemon tree a month ago and i have lots of questions and
im trying to find answers online but i think i often phrase my questions
incorrectly. e.g i had no idea what a plastic plant pick was for and i
googled it for an hour and all i got was that its a very good baseball card
holder -.- .... Why are some of your limes yellow? Do they start yellow and
become green? Do you have a fertilizer that you recommend that works well
and doesn't smell like rotting flesh or decomposing fish? I havent looked
at your other videos just yet but im about to but you should share some
basics for us novices, like pruning! Where do i cut and why!? and how?
+Dan Mac Limes start green and turn yellow if left on the tree long enough. They're ripe enough when they're green though. I use "tropical plant fertilizer" from Lowes. There's citrus pruning vids by some other people on YouTube I would recommend looking at those but you shouldn't really need to prune for a long time.
Ok I am not stalking your video's but am subscribed now lol! Just curious
how old your citrus plants were when they started producing fruit. What
citrus tree would you recommend for a beginner ? I am so happy I found you
on here! Your video's are amazing!
I would have to have the plant shipped. Sadly no one carrys citrus around here. I was looking at fourwinds website. Thank you so much for the videos and information :)
+Taharvey77 These days most grafted citrus plants that you buy anywhere will be producing fruit the same year. When you go to a store selling these plants take your time and look over all the plants and pick one that has fruit already on it then you're all set. For a beginner I would recommend meyer lemon, key lime, or small fruit like calamondin or satsuma. Oranges are much less hardy.
The bigger ones in this video were bought from 2 year old grafted plants. They produced fruit in their 4th year. From seed will usually take around 6 years.
My lemon tree is in bloom now, but when thy develop into small fruits, they
fall off after a week or two. Would you happen to know what I'm doing
wrong?
Hi, I was wondering if you can give me some tips for an indoor lemon tree.
I just purchased a lemon tree about 7 feet tall. Live in the Toronto area.
Its been well cared for and has lemons on it, told by previous owner that
it grows lemons all year.
Should I fertilize it at this time? What type? Sunlight? Watering? etc.
Not sure what type of lemon tree it is.
I'd greatly appreciate any help or tips to keeping it healthy and growing
lemons.
Hi Dino, you should fertilize it every 3 months or so. You probably want to fertilize it next in April since the tree is probably in a more dormant stage from the winter.Use a "Tropical plant fertilizer" you can get them in a bag at Lowes. I grow mine by a south facing window in the winter. If you don't have it by a south facing window you should add additional light from a lamp of some sort. Good luck!
