they're scrambling now. Detroit doesn't need a bailout.They need to ween themselves off the teet of Oil and make the cars we want ,but they are in the business of manufacturing Gas burners and have spent billions just to keep up the Charade that it's the Only choice for us . Palin will try to perpetuate this BS ,thats my word. Think of buying an e-car & solar or wind charging at home.. . You pay once and thats it. They can't stand this. We and They need to wake up to FREE ENERGY.

I really miss the Arnold of old times performing the Terminator character. But I have to admit that this idea of the electric car is awesome. All the world criticized USA for not being an environment friendly country. Discarding any order "hidden reason" for the fabrication of this car, this is the chance that USA needed to be pioneer in green subjects. Not only debating about this real problem (our planet is really sick) but doing it. Congratulations.

Im from Detroit and have seen Arnold go from his Hummers and tanks and excess to being a green save the enviorment little sellout. Anything to get elected buddy. Detroit knows most americans dont want small hybrid gutless cars!!! Arne has been hanging out with to many libtard hollywood loosers.His state is a mess and so is his personal life, only reason he got the job was his wife. Im a republican and he is an embarrasment to our party.

California has a very serious emissions problem and so does the rest of the world for that matter. Just because you don't believe in global warming, doesn't mean it's not here. California is already feeling massive droughts and agricultural productivity has already been hit. Greenhouse gases are very serious problem. I congratulate Arnold for doing what's right for the people, not for his party.

The irony of the story is that goverments urge carmanufactors to switch to alternative sources,while at the same time the are the collecting money,pushing oildrums around.tax. national budget. one can not live without the other. giving them money is pure life support. even without a economic crisis. they are holding on to there last oilstrawe.

pricing is the issue but its the same as with computers, the new options and high end processos cost a lot to start with but by the tme ten million have been sold the price is comming down...the price for electric cars isnt going to come down if there arent a few companies and making them and competing.

We have a problem. But a lot of these laws they pass arent really helping. A lot of people only use cats once every 2 years because we are required to have factory ones for smog instead of hi flows. So my question is why not make hi flows legal? Isnt some clean air better than none?

@nickchirco only way to save the environment is to kill all humans, but I never said that hummers were bad, just that politicians are full of crap, and yes hummers do have large fuel consumption, bring back the DDEC 2 before the emission crunch and that is what I call an engine

Arnold mentioned Tesla Motors. Nikola Tesla was destroyed by JP Morgan who had interests in fossil fuels and much of the infrastructure we used now. Tesla's ideas would've made us independent of petroleum.

think about it this way guys if 20 miles per gallon was about the average top mpg 20-30 years ago and they built a car that could get over 10xs that then we can do it too we have cars today that get close to 200 mpg so imagine what we could do today not to mention our technology is alot more advance now than then.

this is good, but its really impractical and we shouldnt even be working on gas running cars anymore. it shud b all electric by 2015 in my opinion (not all cars, just all cars being sold, but the gas cars will die out through time)
