Why Obama is President is beyond me. He's almost wilfully ignorant when it comes to space. A base set up on the moon would bring us so much closer to everything we want to do as far as exploring space. Kennedy spoke from imagination and inspiration, Obama's feet are stubbornly rooted to the ground. The moon is a perfect platform.

I don't think SpaceX was trying to get "funding" as Elon said they don't need the subsidy. They can maintain their launch-ready infrastructure by running a viable and competitive business. ULA continues to get funding. SpaceX has not yet flown a national security payload, so they haven't been paid for that either. So I guess the answer to your question is "no"

Yeah... Elon stutters here and there, but action speaks louder than words. Finally, we have a space company controlled by one man with a dream, a man with a purpose, a man who gets shit done. Im tired of companies controlled by a bunch of money hoarders who waste our time and money. We need more people like Elon Musk. A man with a dream, a man with a purpose.
