+Spodermen For a "basic fkn circle," you just need to choose the ellipse tool, hold down shift, and click + drag your cursor until you reach your desired size. Holding shift down with the any of the shape tools (ellipse, rectangle, etc.) while dragging will give you a uniform shape. This works with transforming /re-sizing things (e.g. placed images, etc.) also.
+MJ I watched this video, muted and with fast forward, and still understood how to do it. It's not rocket science, the info is delivered just fine if you put your brain to it.
+MJ This is a lesson talking about covering other lessons in lessons you haven't watched yet. I heard you like lessons. So we made a lesson covering other lessons about lessons. Lessons.

The work path ("Paths") can be found in the Main Menu under Windows >
Paths. Make sure it is checked. There should now be a tab on your interface
that says Paths. Paths cannot be layers because you can apply a path to
any layer. First, select the path that you want to apply to a layer. Then,
right-click and choose "Make Selection." Move to the Layers tab and select
the layer you want to apply the selection to and away you go.

Turning an image into a Smart Object preserves the original image and
allows you to do all kinds of things you couldn't do otherwise. Do a Google
search and you will find some good videos on Smart Objects. When you
rasterize an image you convert it from vector-based to a bitmap or
pixel-based image, e.g., if you want to apply filters to text, you would
need to rasterize the text.
It's the only Photoshop video I have ever done! I'm not a Photoshop expert
by any stretch of the imagination, but people kept asking me how I made
curved headers, so I thought I'd do a video. I learned this from one of
Mark Monciardini's early Photoshop training videos. One of his products is
called Cover Action Pro.
Use the "Direct Selection Tool" (it's a white arrow). The Add Anchor Point
tool can also be used. Try hovering over the anchor point. If the cursor
changes to a white arrow, you should be able to move the anchor point so
that a curve is created. Note: As you move the anchor point, the cursor
changes to a black arrow.
Many many many thanks for this such a simple yet powerful trick !! Curves
are the most attractive things which makes a design stands out and you have
helped me for my lifetime with your knowledge! May god bless you with lots
of happiness !!!!
I don't think you need to be on the cutting edge. I use Photoshop CS5 and I
doubt that I will upgrade to Adobe's new Creative Cloud service to get
Photoshop CS6, as I don't need any more functionality and I am very
resistant to a monthly fee!
thank u very much i was searching in 2 days how to make curved lines and
this tutorial lastly become the best and easiest way that i can make curved
header good job and make more other videos like this....
THANK YOU. I have been studying PS for years and I learnt loads of new
things watching this. The pen tool I was able to manage, for a start. It
actually worked. Have you done any more cool videos like this?
Thank you so much! I've been struggling for a long time making curved
headers but was able to make them easily thanks to your tutorial. Been
using your instructions for awhile now. Thanks again!
You will need to make the layer below your header image transparent in
Photoshop. In my video that would be the white layer. Save the image as a
GIF or PNG file with transparency checked.
The curved portion has to be selected before you add the colour. You should
see a dotted line (looks like marching ants) around the curved area. Follow
the video carefully one more time.
This is great but I want to place my curved header over a background image.
I can't find anyone who can tell me how to slice a curved image in
photoshop. Really hoping you can help!
Thank you for this video! Watching repeatedly. Could you possibly help me
figure out what I'm doing wrong with creating and moving the anchors to
create the actual curve?
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was able to do what I needed the very first time. And
I LOVE the last tip about the photo, I will definitely be using that in a
later project.
You need to use the "Paste Into" option to put the photo "behind the
curve." In CS5 that's under the "Paste Special" option on the menu... or
use Alt-Shift-Ctrl-V.
And I have another question for you please :) ..Whats the difference
between converting to a smart object and rasterize ?! ..whats the usage for
both of them ?!
As a novice images in a responsive layout can be a bit of a minefield.l
look forward to your take on the subject, if you get chance. Keep up the
good work
I have to say this is an AWESOME tutorial! Multiple things in one too. I
don't normally comment on these but definitely thumbs up on this one. =)
God bless.
