2005 Scion tC built motor turbo vs. 2010 Mitsubishi Ralliart
This is a video i put to gether of my first race with my tC after breaking in the new motor and boosting it again. During this run my car had a very conservative ...
Roll Racing...? That engine doesn't sound very idle to me, especially if he's leading.
How To Make a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) Adapter - Scion TC
Video detailing how to make a homemade Mass Airflow Sensor Adapter using items from the hardware store for under $5. You will need an adapter for many ...
i love vids like this because i have an 88 escort gt and parts are rare for
this car. fun car to drive. has tones of potential with the 1.9 HO. just
need parts. so these vids help. thanks dude. keep it up. you get ideas for
more vids post it. don't be shy.
That is prety smart man. The only down side to using once is its thickness.
I have a 2012 tC and am doing this to make one. The Maf adapter formats
work its too big and too high. The stock intake.on 2012 is 3" still 1" for
sensor. I'll make a video
when that pvc heats up in your engine bay it releases toxins which can
damage your engine and is harmful to your health.... fyi. spectre sells a
mafs adaptor. you can pick one up at autozone or local autoparts store for
around $20.
im sorry but this isnt the route to go. if you want a intkake for cheap
pick up a maf adapter kit from your local autopart store and a filter you
may need to drill new wholes but it works better than this garunteed.
2014 Scion FR-S vs Scion tC Hot Lap Part 2: And the best Scion Sports car is?
//www.TFLcar.com ) The 2014 Scion FR-S and the 2014 Scion tC are like two twins separated at birth. Of course these are very different vehicles in some ...
+Brandon Rogers here comes the idiot in his 600cc Of course you can burn a car you fucking idiot you drive a sportsbike.... Now go buy a real bike with some real ccs before some dude in a bigger bike than yours comes and makes the same stupid comment then you did. Hey brandon i'll shit all over your zx-6r with my gsxr 1000 or s1000rr... shut your mouth ... stupidest fucking comment ever It's like comparing trees and sand ... at least i can drive under the rain without getting soaked, put stuff in my trunk and bring bitches along for the ride.... fucking kid you drive a 600cc it's a kid's toy while you topped out on the highway real riders blow by you doing a wheelie..., get a fucking life.
+Trickflow Tony The Focus 2.0 was a good engine. The SVT even better way overbuilt. The rest of the car tends to fall apart. Looks like that car was very well maintained. I would not pay more than $1800 for it. That is pushing it. A clean one with 130k on it might be worth 4 grand. My 2000 Celica with 330k on it was far cleaner. The Escort 1.9's manuals could run to 200k easy but they gave problems along the way. The Escort 1.6 often could not make it to 90k. I blew up an EXP turbo on a test drive. For every good Ford car model there were 5 to 7 bad ones. I don't think that ratio is much better today. The Eco-boost cars have big problems with carbon build up and poor real world mileage. I would buy one. I would sale before the warranty is up.
+fatboy19831 it's a 4cylinder ford with 227k+ miles for 3500, kinda goes against about everything you were saying about fords ;) I love those cars too lol, trying to get one as a daily.
+Trickflow Tony Crown Vics are cheap cheap to repair. Everyone and his son can work on them. They are RWD and big. They were the last of a bread. You can drop a trans in a crown for under a grand. Same for the engine. Parts are not only cheap but easy to find. .....None of that is true for a Camry. You can fix 5 crown vics for the price to fix one Camry. Camry excellent consumer car. Crown Vic Excellent fleet car. ....... Reliability has nothing to do with it. You asked me a question you already knew the answer to.
+fatboy19831 While the mkviiilsc isn't the greatest car around, it truly was a great one for it's time. Those cars came with a 280hp 4.6L dohc 32v v8 in 1993. And a list of options that would make any bmw or benz owner of it's time cry ... It was sooo far ahead of it's time, while most of the ones you see nowadays are ghettoed out pieces of trash indeed, a good condition one is far from a POS, and every previous owners used to tell me how much they loved their old mkviii when i pulled up in mine. And i don't know if you know how to read properly or might need glasses but i precisely specified that i owned 4 4.6, and 2 were owned by lifelong friends. Glad to know you were satisfied with your slowlica for 12 years, but i'm an enthusiast and have a need for performance, and when it's not enough i upgrade ( i bet you kept the $1200 car you bought while still in highschool for 12 years too ... ). I also moved out of the country for family reasons causing me to sell, and having to buy again. But please tell me how 90% of america's police and taxi fleets run a pos unreliable engine for hundreds of thousands of miles, in horrible driving conditions. Why haven't they been using camrys instead of crown vics all these years ?
+Trickflow Tony Ford has a wonderful 2016 line up. I love the Raptor, Fiesta ST, GT350, and the new Ford GT.I hate the entire Lexus line up. Boring pedestrian cars. The Lexus ES 300 (Toyota Camry) is more reliable than any Ford car made today. You cant argue that point. If you want to have fun by a Ford if you want to get to work every day buy a Toyota or at least have one as a back up.You have owned 6 4.6 cars in the last 11 years? I have owned 1 Toyota Celica for the past 12 years. Nothing went wrong with that car for the first 100,000 miles. Nothing. I changed the Brakes and spark plugs at 100k both were still good. Same for the clutch at 220k. When I sold it at 330k it still had the original water pump, Radiator, Belts and hoses. No Ford car can do that. If you only have modded cars and only keep them for a few years how can you make any statements on how reliable Fords are?We are never going to agree............ My X had a 2009 Toyota Matrix she purchased in 2011 with 60k on it for 10 grand. Sold it with 95k on it in 2013 for $9800. It sold in 4 days. Lincoln Mak VIII LSC ? What a POS.
2004 Sc400 does not exist. There is the 2004 SC430, but that car is both ugly, useless, and terribly slow, a stock 2004 mustang gt would eat that thing alive.... You want to talk Lincoln ? I'm more the qualified to go down that road, i've owned a 1998 Lincoln Mak VIII LSC for 2 years, it had the all aluminum 32V DOHC 4.6L V8 making 290hp/290tq. Had a shit ton of electronics, heated seats, passenger and driver memory, telescoping steering wheel, came stock with HIDS in 98. Now i did have an issue with the air ride suspension the bags would leak air after a while like on the range rovers, which was a quickfix with coilovers. I had a few mods on it( intake/exhaust/gears/pulleys/chip/suspension ) and the 4r70w auto trans held up very well bought it with 45k miles for 5100$ sold it with 97k miles for 4500, can't complain, all electronics never failed me, it wasn't the fastest thing in the world but was pretty quick, took on an evo IX in a 35mph roll. Any good mechanic will tell you that flushing a trans every 50k miles isn't so good since you will loose metal debris after every flush, and the trans will end up slipping, unless you drive your car like a grandma and never step on it...., and who buys a performance/sporty car and doesn't mod it and drive it? And i don't know where you live but come to south florida and you will see a ton of beat to shit dogged out lexuses ( we actually DRIVE our cars here not garage queen them all week and wax on sundays ... ).Also i would like to know what an sc400 and a celica gt have in common, besides literally nothing ? was that toyota's answer to the mustang ? lol it's slower then a civic si... And while the Supra was a GREAT car, the basic automatic is BOG slow. Are toyotas more reliable then fords ? Absolutely for the most part. Who makes the best performance cars ? Who has the most interesting lineup ? Who actually listens to it's customers and drivers ? Definitely not toyota, they shell out camrys and tacomas like there's no tomorrow. And my engine was taken out due to an accident, not engine failure, my car was a track car belonging to a race team before i bought it, had an accident wasnt allowed on track anymore, team bought an 09 mustang for the chassis swapped their race engine in it, swapped the 09 in the old car, rebuilt it, sold it. And out of the 4 different 4.6L i have personally owned, never had a SINGLE ISSUE with the engines, my roomate had a 1996 grand marquis with 150k miles on it and never had a single issue with it either(he just traded it for a scion xb lol .. he wanted a small car that could fit his 6'3" 310lbs ass, but says the plastics and interior is very poor quality, he likes it though. ), my highschool friend still uses his work truck for his landscaping company ( long bed single cab f150) from 2003, that 4.6 has 275k miles on it and gets driven hard everyday, he used to drive it as his personal truck every day outta highschool, had exhaust and a chip on it, its now back to stock, and still runs like a beauty. He now upgraded to a silverado 2500 duramax, and still uses the f150. It for sure isn't a crappy engine, at least as far as my personal experience, and the experience of my entourage goes, but that's 6 different 4.6L cars that i have either owned or driven in the past 11 years( and in every variation : Iron block, all aluminum, 2v,3v,4v heads, SOHC/DOHC configurations, and with both manuals, and auto trans from 205 hp/265tq to 300hp/320tq) . I don't know where you get your facts from, pigs maybe ?
+Trickflow Tony I am talking stock! 2004 Sc 400 does not exist? Thank you for enlightening me. I must have imagined those ugly cars. Automatics are less reliable than manuals for the most part. Flush the trans every 50,000 miles on a Toyota and it will go 300,000 miles No problem Stock. You mod the engine the auto trans will go out on almost any car. Your friend with the dogged out Is is a numnuts. To destroy that car in 150k you have to be. The Electronics on Toyotas has always been solid. Including the 1990s cars. You and I know The Mustang is not in the same class as any Lexus. You would have to compare Lincoln . You don't want to go down that road. For the Mustang Toyota has the Celica and the Supra. Both 5 times more reliable. I had a stock 2000 Celica GT. I purchased it new. Ran it for 330,000 miles and sold it for $2000 in 2012. It sold on Cl in 18 hours. If you owned for 4.6 engines you know its crap. That would be like me saying a 2000 Subaru flat 4 was reliable. It blew the head gasket every 90,000 miles like clock work. The 4.6 drank oil and blew head gaskets too. Like I said no absolutes. You still had a 60 /40 chance of getting a good one. The odds were not that good with Subaru. If they were so good why did you take yours out of your Mustang? Try someone else on Youtube that will buy your snake oil.
+fatboy19831 If the mustang is " well maintained " then sure it will outlast 200k miles. It's got a larger displacement engine with 2 less cams an 16 less valves pushing similar to less horsepower. Meaning less stressed to begin with. Sc400s also only came in automatics, which as everyone knows back then were a lot less reliable and broke a lot more often under hard driving then manuals. ( still do ). While toyotas are reliable, every single 90's luxury car or luxury wannabe had or has had a plethora of electronic issues. Lexus included. ( if you knew anything you'd probably know a 2004 SC400 doesn't exist, once again proving the fact you don't know about the cars you talk about ). ( my friend had a 2004 lexus is300 which he bought new, and while it was a great car its now junk. Electronics failed, transmission is gone and so on .. car has 150k miles, and was not driven insanely either. It was enjoyed yes, as any sporty cars should, and not garage queened ). I drove a 150k mile thunderbird with a 94 4.6L that sat for 10 years and that engine still ran strong as hell and still ran after the entire car was junked. That 4.6 was the same engine in the trucks so it's definiteky not a dog reliabilty wise i don;t need to asky any cops i've owned 4 different ones, and they all ran like beauties, have you owned one tot alk about it ? Have you owned an sc400 as well ? ... You also seem to forget that my car is also lightyears ahead of a stock 2004...
+Trickflow Tony Awhhh.......did I hurt your feelings? There are 65 mustangs still on the road. Easy to fix and re-build. A 2004 Mustang is not in that class and you know it. Can one last 200k trouble free miles yes. Is it likely no. Who in their right mind would buy a 2004 Mustang with 200k on it? Or any Ford product other than their Trucks. Nothing is wrong with the electronics on a well maintained Sc 400 or Ls 400 or es 300. They are Toyotas. You are trying to say that 2004 Mustang more reliable as a 2004 Lexus? Good luck trying to find anyone that will agree with you on that point. Why do you think a used on is so expensive? Because it is crap? You can buy a used Infinity for half the price.I will give you this a 2015 Mustang is light years better than a 2004 one. I feel a Modern V8 Mustang will hold up BETTER than most of its Japanese and Korean competition. It took years of hard work for Ford to get to this point. I would not bet money on the Turbo 4.being half as good. In 2004 that crapy front seat on a Mustang could not make it to100k. The 4.6 was a dog reliability wise. Ask any police officer.Nothing is absolute. There are some good well maintained 2004 Mustangs out their. Many have already been reduced to scrap metal. If you can not understand that then you " don;t know jack about the cars you talk about. "
+fatboy19831 an sc400 with 200k miles last you another 100k miles ? Yeah if you take out all the electronics and throw a carburetor on the engine MAYBE and definitely not one for $2000, those will usually have basically no more interior, and nothing works, i know it for a fact, because i looked to buy one for a long time, and nothing below 5-6000$ was remotely interesting, not only that but you have to get the later models and not the earlier ones there is a 40HP difference ont he same engine, and those are even rarer and more expensive. But come hop on the mustang forums and i'll show you plenty with more then 200k miles. still running strong as hell. You do realize the more simple the engine and the lesser the electronics the longer a car will last you ? I've seen fox body mustangs with 500k + miles on those iron block 5.0s with standard forged internals still running strong doing burnouts n donuts. You literally have no clue what you are talking about dude, seems like you don;t know jack shit about the cars you talk about.
+Trickflow Tony You can use an Sc 400 with 200,000 miles on it for another 100,000 miles and still sale it for 2 grand. A 2004 Mustang with 200,000 miles on it is DONE as a transportation tool. You cant count on it to take you 100 miles. No absolutes. A 200k Mustang is a mess.
+Brian Luu wrong about what ? took you 3 weeks to come up with that answer ?? ... And by the way that add you showed me has nothing to do with my car. It's a 2003 not a 2004, has little to no mods, a basic iron block 4.6L 2V ( 16 valves 260hp, 302tq) I have an all aluminum( 90lbs less ) 4.6L 3V (24 valves 300hp, 320tq ) from 2009. Full suspension mods ( poly bushings, upper and lower rear control arms, lowering springs, caster camber plates ). The TR3650 transmission also comes from 2009, along with the rear end, and 4.10 gears. It also came with different rims, with 315/35r17 nitto drag radials. the car also came with custom chromolly headers, and full straight pipes offroad exhaust ( bbk catless x pipes ). It also came with over 600$ in custom fiberglass cowl hood, and terminator cobra bumper with fog lights and mach 1 chin lip. My car also came with 2 tone leather interior, clean as fuck, custom sound system with 2 12inch kickers in the trunk ( which i have removed ). Engine, trans, and rear end had 72k miles on them. Also came with a cold air intake and custom throttle body. Slotted and drilled front rotors as well. Paid 5300 for it, and have put plenty of upgrades since ( pulleys, balancer, tb & spacer, subframe connectors, aluminum driveshaft, new better CAI). Now go find one anywhere near what i have for the price. I'd dust the poor car you showed me by the end of 1st gear lol ....
+Brian LuuAnd your point is ? Find a similar performing scion, or toyota or even lexus for that matter around the same price ? With some luck you'll find an SC400 with like 200k miles for around 7k. And a stock 2004 mustang probably still blows the doors of a stock sc400.
Mustangs are cheap the guy was right i found a couple for 3k and this one is in nice condition for 4k //orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/5135885463.html
+fatboy19831Actually i lived in France for 2 years and cars there mostly suck, so i do understand your point. I drove 2-3 cars there on their small twisted roads and it was actually tons of fun. I drove a citroen C2 VTS wich weighs less then 1800lbs has a 1.6L 16V making 125hp and a 6spd. Also tried a Renault Clio RS 182. Made 182hp out of a 2.0L 16v. And also the megane RS 225. With the turbo 2.0L 16v making 225hp. Those are fun fwd cars, mostly very light ( the megane was heavier at 3200lbs ) And are considered sports cars by the french ( ZzZz to me but .. ). And made to carve some twisties probably very similar to the focus/fiesta st. They actually had a fiesta ST before this model, it made 150hp out of ford's 2.0L 16v for a car a bit smaller then today's st I tried that car as well, it was decent fun. But i'm the type of person who would still try to shove 400hp under those hoods lol.
We are two different type of drivers. I enjoy just driving. An open road with turns and twists. It just does not get much better than the BRZ when it comes to that. The Mustang GT is the most strait line performance you can buy for your money. My Friend just purchased a 13 GT 6 speed manual. He ran a 13.1 no problem stock. Paid in the low 20's. The 13 Boss is my favorite Mustang of all time. Still I like the BRZ better. I like the Fiesta ST better. Mustang guys will never truly understand why anyone would buy a 200 hp car when you can buy a 420 hp car for not much more money. I cant see how driving a 3700 pound car around turns can be entertaining ( on the street).
+fatboy19831 Actually if you know anything about mustangs you'd know that a 2004 is just a revised fox platform, most of the suspension mods can be swapped. Like i said a 2004 cobra's IRS can be hooked to a 90s without much work. They handle just as good, if not better, since they weigh 200lbs less stock. And yes my 90 obliterated my friend's 07 cayman s no problem. I never said it was stock. Never said it was a gt either. And actually i don't really bother with the track much, the car just came with these mods.
+Trickflow Tony If you are a quarter mile guy why even bother with the track? On the other hand I am just looking for top end and how good a car feels on the road. The 1990 Mustang was a sloppy handling car. A far cry from the 2004. The Stock Cayman S is a sub 13 second car. Far faster than a Stock 1990 Mustang GT.
+fatboy19831 in total with money spent on the car, new tires ( 315/35r17s are expensive ). Tune up and everything else ( had to switch the battery got a red top about 200$ ) i have spent less then $7000. I haven't taken it to the 1/4 yet since i moved towns but i'm now 35mn from orlando speed world. But 15 flat i did better with my 98 lincoln ... Porsches are cool and handle great, but i used to destroy my friend's cayman S and cayenne with my old 1990 mustang.
+Trickflow Tony The 2014 Mustang GT was cool. Powerful. Wonderful gearbox. Amazing torque. Good bottom and top end. Still not as much fun to drive as a base FRS. I understand that it is all subjective . For me. Mustangs have become to big to heavy and you cant see out of them very well. I drove a 14 Mustang six from DC to SC. It was painful. I get the Mustang. Yes it has tons of power. The 2004 was headed in the right direction but still had poor quality everything. The older Mustangs were downright raggedy from new. Especially the seats. Sorry the FRS is worth 20 grand more than your car to me. I picked the BRZ over the Boxster, Mustang GT and the Six. The Boxster is a better car in every way. I just could not justifie the 50% price increase. Or the mileage I would put on the car. That was my short list. I was just happy to have a lightweight RWD car that my 6.5 foot tall self could fit in. If I only had 5 grand to spend I would buy a 2450 pound rwd 85 Nissan 240 or a 2400 pound 8000 rpm red lined RWD 85 Corolla GTS. How much money have you put in your car? How much are you into it total? How fast is it in the quarter? The best I have done on my BRZ is 15 flat. Before the cat back and cold air.
+fatboy19831 I bought my car for 5300$ with 90% of the mods already on it, and the swap already done. I have since put maybe 1000$ in basic stuff like tuneup, u/d pullies, balancer, and relocated the battery to the trunk. You will never get a deal taht good on an FRS or BRZ, or anything from scion fro that matter. I didn't realize the manual frs was so much faster then the auto ( 8.0-6.2 ) I don't do 0-60 in 3.1 but i do it in less then 4.5. The car still hasn't been tuned since the swap, and direly needs a dyno tune, we're talking a completely different engine. Yet runs that good already. You can check out my channel dude it's all on there.
+fatboy19831dude you're 100% wrong, brz/frs take too much work to get to the level of anything decent for the same price. 200 lbs and 30% or more hp and tq advantage for cheaper ?? yeah sure cool conversation, walk out because you ran out of points to make. You can swap an IRS from a 99-01 and 03-04 cobra in any fox platform car with minor mods. Now you got a full indepedent suspension 2900lbs track monster. No matter how much you put into an FRS you can never match the bang for the buck power to $$ ratio of an old windsor 302. which in 1988 made 25 more hp and 150 more torque then an frs. I mean you're talking buying a 25-30k car and spending 8-10k on top to get to not even break the 300whp bar ? do you know how ridiculous that sounds ? No matter how good the car handles, it gets outclassed by 15-20yr old cars with basic bolt ons ...
+Trickflow Tony The older Mustangs are useless. Too much work to get them to turn. They dont have top end. The 200 pounds wont help you on that one. Cool conversation.
+Trickflow Tony You can buy a 2013 FRS with 60 k on it for 15k all day long. 23 grand all in. Yes Your Mustang would still hold the PTW advantage but it would not matter. No tracks are large are large enough for you to take advantage of that power. At that point the Driver would make a bigger difference than the cars. Be honest you dont have 5 grand in your car. How much have you put in so far? 7 grand? 5 grand? "My car already has a bunch of suspension mods as well, already has slotted and drilled front rotors, and ceramic pads all around.lowering aprings, caster camber plates, upper and lower rear control arms, full poly bushings... I get to 60 in about half the time a stock frs does as well for a 5th of the price... Oh and i sound a lot better too. Not that those flat 4s sound bad."1 5th of (2013 FRS) 15k is 3k. Used to Used. You get to 60 in 3.1 seconds for 5 grand? That is the deal of the century. You are killing the BOSS Mustang.I have put $1200 into my BRZ. Cat back, Cold air, tower brace.
+fatboy19831 And if i brought my older mustang to the fight it would be even worst, mods are cheaper, car starts 200lbs lighter.... makes more torque, easier to mod ... more available mods to pick from....
+fatboy19831except that you have now spent 25k for the car + 8k for a turbo and suspension kit. so we're at 33k. You still have less hp and much less tq. Now i paid 5k for mine. So that leaves me with 28k to spend on upgrades... Let's say i went wild and spent 10k on a boss coyote swap, and another 5-10k on suspension mods including a maximum motorsports IRS and a full wilwood or similar brand track brakes kit. I can also easily remove another 200lbs of weight by removing back seat, gutting, changing front seats for performance buckets .. and so on that would net me 400+ whp for less then 3k lbs. Yes my car is outmatched in the handling department from the get go. But for the price your spending, just to catch up with me the frs isn't worth it. Might as well start with a more powerful platform. Even a WRX at this point. Not only that but if you go by simple power to weight ratio with the FRS at 275 for 2400lbs that makes for 0.1145 hp per lb. For 320hp ( low current estimate ) at 3170lbs that's 0.1009. Now that's your25k+ 8k$ modded turbo brz vs my car untouched as it sits in my garage today. If i were to spend 8k on engine and suspension mods i'd outclass the frs badly, but will have still spent less then 15k on the total pkg.My car already has a bunch of suspension mods as well, already has slotted and drilled front rotors, and ceramic pads all around.lowering aprings, caster camber plates, upper and lower rear control arms, full poly bushings... I get to 60 in about half the time a stock frs does as well for a 5th of the price... Oh and i sound a lot better too. Not that those flat 4s sound bad.
$8000 will get you a turbo (about 275 whp and 250 lb ft of torque) A high flow radiator, Slotted and drilled rotors, cold air and Dunlop Direzza tires. Strip out the interior and you are down to about 2400 pounds. At this point you are at an 800 pound disadvantage. Your 2004 Mustang is now outclassed. You can get a high mileage 2013 FRS for 15kI would never do this without adding a roll cadge ( I dont know how much that cost). It will add 100 pounds back in.The Mustang is an exceptional performance bargain. It has never been much of a track car.
it would take a lot of $$ to make an frs faster then my car. Title says the car weighs 3317lbs, the swap, fiberglass hood, and sound system removal + suspension mods shave about 150lbs or more off. lets round it to 3170 just in case. that's less then 400lbs more then an frs for almost twice the horsepower and over 2 times the torque. And i paid 5k for it. I wont even mention my old fox body mustang (1990) which stock weighed 3118lbs. Had weight reduction and made 320+whp. for 3500$. The Tc blows period, its not even that good of a bargain when compared to a car like the fiesta st, which is great bang for the buck performance. The thing is a bunch of leftover parts thrown together with a camry engine. Rock solid and reliable, i don't know i've seen one fall appart in front of me leaving the scion lot, almost causing an accident, plus all the ones in my area look like pure shit paint fading, and blah blah blah ... my old coworker owns a 2006 one i tested and it's pure crap. why buy that junk when for 5k more you can get an frs or a base mustang or anything sporty from any other brand besides scion for that matter, even a civic SI ...
+Trickflow Tony I am not a fan of the TC. It is one hell of a 20k car. Everything is standard. It has good torque, Is rock solid reliable with excellent resale value and a real back seat. There just are not many Cheap coupes left. For most Americans it is a better car than the FRS. For us 1 % ters we are like hell no. There are modded FRS's that are far faster than your car on or off the track. Stock vs Stock. Mod vs Mod. Anything else is not a real comparison. We all know the GT 350 is going to be amazing as was the BOSS. They are still 3500 pound + cars. The Only Ford that is as much fun to toss around as the FRS is the Fiesta ST.The Base bottom of the line all season tired automatic V6 Mustang is faster than the FRS around a track. It is like playing a xylophone with a sledge hammer vs mallet.
+fatboy19831 And i agree, the frs is fun on a track. But every review says it seriously lack the power to be more potential fun. Let's see when the gt350R comes out 526hp and a redline at 8250rpms, and fully track capabale and lightened. And yes the new mustang is light years form the 2k4. I still bet with my current mods weight and power i'll beat an frs around a track, and for a quarter of the price. Don't forget that even in the earlier years Ford also produced Track specified models like the 2000 SVT Cobra R. The FRS is fun, and is a good car BECAUSE SUBARU had it's hands on it. The one i'm truly bashing here is that useless junk called the TC.
+Trickflow Tony The Mustang is wonderful at what it does. The all new (STOCK) 2016 GT is not as balanced or entertaining to drive on a track as an FRS. It is a hell of a lot faster in every way. It weighs 1000 pounds more. You cant fight the laws of physics. The 2016 Mustang is light years better than the 2004.
+Fares Sadeghiyan Yes the country of Peugeot, I'm not talking about SEEING i am talking about DRIVING, what did you drive in Iran and turkey ? I lived in Norway, and Malaysia, but i'm not mentioning it because i didn't get to drive there. And i have driven plenty of FWD trash cars, and the supposed superior handling sporty versions. Here are the 3 fastest cars i have driven in France, don't have videos of any but 1 which i need to get from my old phone : Citroen C2 VTS 16V. 1.6L 125hp 8.0sc 0-60 1740 lbs ( fwd ). Renault Clio RS cup 182, Fwd 2.0L 16V 182 HP 7.2sc 0-60. And the Renault Meganne RS cup. 2.0L16V Turbo 225hp, FWD 6.2sc 0-60 ( the later 275hp version of the meganne RS held the nurburgring fwd time record untill the new type r beat it and that car still didn't handle all that great). Now don't get me wrong there can be some very good handling FWD cars. But RWD are KNOWN to handle better. High horsepower FWD cars are known to have terrible understeering issues. Plus please tell me of any major racing series using FWD. I can name plenty using RWD. ( F1,Nascar,FE.FD,Australian super car series,F2000, and so on ... ). If you look closer at the videos you can see i have owned and driven a 2000 pontiac grand prix GTP which is a 3.8L supercharged V6 which 15 years ago made 240hp and 280 lb-ft of torque and is FWD, What about the sonic and the scion ? those are neither trucks, mustangs or rwd. I guess you didn't take a close enough look. Also my car will destroy any of the cars you have listed above, including wrx, wrx sti, and evos, and i can't wait for that new type r to get here so i can humiliate it, and make those honda boys look sad. My lincoln could take an Evo IX on a 35mph roll, and that car was a 4000lbs +BOAT. And also if you had actually read the comment where i explain to you the mods on my car you would realize that i mention weight distribution in there, or did you comment without reading ? My aluminum block is 90lbs lighter then a stock iron 4.6L from 2004. I also have installed a fiber glass cowl hood, and lighter suspension components, I also relocated my battery to the rear, to help with weight dist. You not only are completely inexperienced with cars, BUT also it seems you need to gain some experience at READING.Also the terribly sad thing is that all those heavy ass american trucks are still a ton faster then anything you've ever driven. And the chevy is fairly " nimble " for it's size. Go rent one for like 60 bucks a day at enterprise you'll see what i'm talking about.
You lived in France for two years? You mean the country of Peageot? I lived in Iran for 8 years. One year in Turkey so if this about seeing cars from other place, I have seen plenty. You were on my channel talking about how I've only driven a ZX3 and tC which isn't true as I stated, and here you are driving only a mustang and some trucks. And you're talking shit about FWD cars because they aren't RWD. Take a look at the new Honda Civic Type R. It's a FWD Honda making upwards of 300hp. That's around as much as a Mustang V6 or EB.And the cars before it. The Mazdaspeed 3, VW GTI, FORD FOCUS ST. Since you think Fords are so great but hate FWD. And have you heard of AWD? AS in the Focus RS, WRX, EVO, and just about any car that can kick your RWD boat to the curb.Just because you have a big engine and RWD doesn't mean your car is anything. You may have never heard of weight distribution and it's effects on the handling of a car but I guess that's just because you're inexperienced.
+12115Cs Every car in my videos are cars i have had the chance to drive and film, Sorry my friends and rental company don't own what you like. Plus it seems to me that hondas, lexus and scions aren't big ass american made cars. And the Sonic Lt might be american made, but it surely isn't BIG ASS. Also I lived in france for 2 years, and cars sucked so much the sonic lt on my videos is faster then 90% of what i drove there. Should i still post videos of those 15sc+ 0-60 cars to show my broadened horizons ? And what do you have the chance to drive ? Anything ? Anything to back up your idiotic ramblings kid ?
+12115Cs I'd like for you to find my exact same car with the exact same mods, and exact same swap around your area for 3k. You're probably also seeing v6 ones at that price. Plus what's wrong with getting fun V8 performance for cheap ??? I see a ton of junk scions for more expensive that aren't 10% the fun.. your point is ??? My car might not be special but it sure as hell is more special then anything Scion makes or sells And will obliterate anything they make as well. And what about you ?? what do you drive ? Anything interesting ? You come here talking smack you must have something to show for it right ? I'm a car guy I'd love to see. And ugliest body style ? Please, your personal opinion doesn't matter, it clearly isn't true. Also if you think my car handles like a cadillac from the 80s. i'd like to know how a TC which weighs 3125lbs( heavier then a 1979-93 big ass american made mustang BY THE WAY ) FWD car with NO power handles ? Probably like a 60s FWD oldsmobile. I'd take an 80's rwd cadillac over a 60's fwd olds any day ;)
+Trickflow Tony Your Mustang is the second ugliest body style they've ever made, and probably handles like a Cadillac from the 80s. I can go buy your model mustang for about $3k from about 7 dealerships around my area. Don't be such a snob because you think your car is a special snowflake. It is not.
ok so 2 things . Your whole argument is invalid because a 2004 mustang GT wass $23600MSRP/21600 invoice. Brand new. If you knew anything about them you would also know that the 99-01 and then 03-04 Cobras had an IRS which made them handle a TON better. It is a simple bolt on swap for any 1979-2004 mustangs. And that gets rid of its worst issue. Now if you want to talk about today's mustang. How does an frs stack up against a bmw M3 ? Because a gt without the track pack does better around a track. Not only that, but you would need a LOT OF $$ to get good hp AND torque out of an FRS. A TC even worst i'm not even sure if the camry block can handle all that much horsepower. Also a stock frs or tc tranmission cannot hold that much either. So in order to compete versus ford's stock sporty offering scion owners must rebuild their cars from the ground up.. what's the point ? Frs is a great car but it's so underpowered its unbelievable. And today don't forget that for less then 30k today you can get the 3.7 or the 2.3T which bothe make over 100 extra horses and almost 150 extra torque, for what 5k more ? where does your argument go there ? a simple TUNE on a 2.3T can yeild of 100tq... but if you own a scion you probably don't know what torque is. Oh and by the way i paid 5400$ for my mustang used, and it does sub 5sc 0-60 ? go do that with a scion for less the 6k... Oh and don't get me started on the terminator cobras which can push over 600hp with a simple pulley swap and a tune ... and they also came with an irs ... so they handle their own on a track.
+Trickflow Tony You not only disregarded my entire comment and main points of concern, but came back with a comparison with the tC. A stock ($35000) mustang GT performs only so well in a straight line. Stock. 0-60 of 5.6 isn't really a great feat for a V8 engine (4.7?) Now you're talking about spending all this money on top of what a mustang would normally cost new, and you're getting nowhere. No suspension with a reasonable price would make the GT handle any better. The new GT also lacks that. The Camaro SS 1LE, with it's larger body handles significantly better than a so called "current gen" Mustang GT with Performance Pack. Also, the tC won in the drag because it has a bigger engine but in a real track test, where a SPORTS CAR, should perform, that stock FR-S will dominate your little Mustang.
+Fares Sadeghiyanthis isn't where i get my info from but it's actually very accurate : here is mustangs 0-60 ://www.0-60specs.com/ford-mustang-0-60-times/Scion TC ://www.0-60specs.com/scion-tc-0-60-times/.Now as you can see from many videos i have posted on this thread, Turbo scion TCS can't even beat civic SIs, even less mustang gts. And you want to drop 10k+ in that to make it as fast as a ... ford mustang ??? how stupid does that sound ? What if you buy a used mustang for 15k and drop 15k in it ?? Even around the track your tc is left to dust. Not only that, but the argument is semi valid for the frs because it is a great chassis, with an engine that has decent potential, but the tc is a shitty FWD platform with a camry engine .. I mean COME ON. You can't be serious .... Why would anyone drop 10-15k in making that car as fast as a mustang, why don't you just start with a better platform, i don't care if japanese, american, german, british, french or fucking marsian. But start off RIGHT. And as far as formula D, the mustang has been dominant for years, so wrong turf to pick a fight over, not only that but the TC involved in there has nothing to do with a real tc it's not even FWD, and is actually sitting on a modified AVENSIS chassis.
+Fares Sadeghiyanexcept my mustang is swapped with a 3v 4.6 from 2009, makes 40 more hp, 18 more torque and weighs 90lbs less STOCK, and mine isn't, my car also has full suspension work from a-z. any other questions ?. and if you look at my videos you can clearly see it goes alot faster then 7sc 0-60. Also your info is completely wrong a 2004 mustang GT does 0-60 in 5.6sc. a 2009 mustang gt does it in 5.1sc. Now my car is lighter then the 2009, and makes more horsepower, what do you think that means ? Also a 400$ dyno tune on today's mustang will give you some nice net gains and get you into the 12s. And whooa a scion finally won something ??? now im gonna go take a nice shit and think about it while doing it.
+Trickflow Tony that mustang in your profile picture, if GT, has a 0-60 time of about 7 seconds stock, handles like a boat, and eats gas like an airplane. A new mustang GT is $32,000 MPRP which would be well over 35k with a few options that the FR-S or tC have in their base models. With that price and enormous engine, the GT does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds with the 425HP, but take a 25k FR's, build, turbo, tune with 10k and it'll wipe that mustang right off the track. But then again, the new Camaro SS makes 455HP and weighs 100 lbs less than the Mustang GT. Same price too. ;)And the Hankook Scion tC won Formula Drift Championship in Long Beach so think about that.
@n9athan One man's trash is another mans treasure. Just because you spent
your money on the Mustang 5.0 or the Supra doesn't guarantee you are going
to be faster. If that were the case, then I wouldn't be passing S2k, 2010
Mustang GT, Roush Supercharged GT....etc. at the race track when I'm not
even boosted right now. I sold my old turbo setup so I'm just running off
the stock hp. Track is a completely different ball game where the driver
can make up all the difference. Check out my vids
@Get1337 i agree, i used to have an 06 civic si and that car was fun to
drive and the interior is amazing, i miss my civic so bad but im just not
satisfied with the power and dnt have money to spend on turbo, so i decided
to trade it with 2010 wrx, that car is fun has everything i need im happy
with it. TC is crap sorry for my girl coz shes drives TC but only for
commuting, she wants an M3 after her nuring program
psss hey all you fags with honda's don't hate on the fact that this chic
has a car who destroys your K20 yadda yadda yadda motors with no issues and
no not all TCs are owned by woman because i promise you this come to AZ and
bring your honda down I-10 be sure to tell your self the 2.0 RS TC that is
dusting you off is being driven by a woman because that will be your excuse
to tell your Honda homies...
@sjerseyb856 You watch it in HD. Then you look at her body. ROTFL. Damn,
that car has a shitload of power. She must have boosted it so much so she
can pull away from white boys in their American 'muscle' that try to get at
her. :D
beautiful build. what size are those rims? ive been thinking bout getting a
tc (of course much less modified, just for daily driver) and idk if 18s
will look good or too small or if 19s will look good to too big.
@n9athan Point is, this car is purely a street car. If it was setup for
track, then the understeer would be reduced. Or modded to take out the
understeer. I track my tC on a monthly basis.
500+ on a FWD, nononononononon not a good idea, i'd rather spend it on
civics, but still not a good idea, try subaru, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
psssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh
@rhythmnsmoke yea I have a Tc also, but I would never waste the money to
put in that much hp, you could get a mustang 5.0 or used supra with mods
and the list goes on
@n9athan It's a street car. If it was a track car then he would have mods
to overcome torque steering (which is what you have to worry about, not
understeer).
does anyone know how bad that thing would understeer on a track, all it is
good for is straight line speed if that, rwd conversion would do a lot with
less hp
@rhythmnsmoke it does both Because the front tires are turning and putting
down power in a corner, I drove a 400 hp fwd civic and that's exactly what
happend
Hello my name is Austin. I tried emailing you yesterday about the car. I
live nearby and would like to come take a look whenever you are available.
Thank you!
CLOSED COURSE - DO NOT ATTEMPT =- (This car is stock) Decided to record my tC going as fast as it's little 4-banger could go. Now that it's on video, I won't ...
Dude, something is wrong with this video. My stock corolla CE accelerated
faster than this. but at least now I know that freeway speed power drop is
a Toyota signature and not a problem with my car. Why do Toyotas not have a
turbo???
+Rick James it was definitely quicker and faster. I'm not sure how much it cost, but it connects to the crank position sensor, throttle sensor and your maf sensor. No ecu chipping. The dealership might know, but they can't void any warranties unless it's directly related, and they have to be able to prove it. It didn't cause any damage, just remapped some stuff and changed fuel delivery and timing
+Matt Fox that chip that just connects to the ecu for around 350 bucks. and can be removed if need be? wont the dealrs know? will there be engine damage? how good did thr chip work? did u feel like the car was faster or better accleration?
+Rick James a base tune with the unichip, is basically just a really basic tune. There's no ecu flashing, no port access tuning. I had tsudo catback, injen cold air intake, and cnt race header with a unichip tune. I got around 135-140 stock, but this was much quicker and faster with bolt ons and a tune
