Venn Diagrams - An Introduction. In this video, I give an intro to Venn Diagrams by labeling a Venn Diagram with numerical values using a concrete example.
Nice demonstration! I noticed that you used the universe to represent the
entire sample space of the total population of students. However, is it
possible to use three overlapping circles and place the 7 in the region of
an unclassified ( area of no subjects taken) third circle where the three
circles don't overlap. I'm new at this, so I just wanted to know is this
possible. Thanks!
+Ray Daniels If one of the circles are unclassified, then there shouldn't be a circle. So lets say there is 2 people that are not taking any of the subjects. They then go outside the circles, but still inside the universe (the box).

052 The Cardiac Cycle
//www.interactive-biology.com - Making Biology Fun We all know that the heart beats. We don't even need to think about it - it just happens. But, there are ...
the 1st time that its written AV valve closes and the 2nd time its written
""AV valve opens"" are both mislabelled - it should be mitral valve closes
and opens respectively. Otherwise a good video with good explanation
AV valve is typically Aortic Valve. (the only other thing I can think of is Atrioventricular which wouldn't be clear at all if its tricuspid or mitral)
I just want you all to know that there is an error in this diagram. Look at
the position of the second heart sound in the phonocardiogram. It should
correspond with the closure of the semi-lunar valves, which means it should
occur a little bit earlier than shown here. Look at where ventricular
pressure peaks. Just after that you will see the lines for ventricular
pressure and aortic pressure cross as ventricular pressure falls below
aortic pressure. At this point the aortic valve would close creating the
second heart sound.
I believe the diagram is not entirely accurate, as the difference between
ventricular and aortic pressures at the point at which the aortic valve
closes is not as great as illustrated here.
The aortic valve doesnt close right away after the pressure in the aorta surpasses the left ventricle's pressure. The blood has momentum, that's why it may seem a little "late"
+Sanad Batarseh Compare the point at which the aortic valve closes as shown in this video to the one in this diagram from Wikipedia: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9a/Wiggers_Diagram.png/400px-Wiggers_Diagram.pngI'm not necessarily saying that the diagram in this video isn't "right" but perhaps it isn't drawn exactly to scale and can be a bit misleading. Compare these two diagrams and see for yourself. Let me know what you think.
Thank you very much for your light and fluent video
but I think you did some little mistakes
first: when you said that "the forth heart sound represents the filling of
the atria with blood" !!!!
but the acceptable answer for describing this sound is that, the forth
heart sound represents the sound of blood being forced into a stiff or
hypertrophic ventricle , which produces abnormally turbulent flow as the
atria contract to force blood into the ventricle.
second: you didn't explain why we hear the second heart sound not in the
exact moment after the pressure of the Aorta overcome the pressure of the
left ventricle !!!
why there is a time gap between this moment and the moment which we hear
the S2 ?
(As it is supposed that semilunar valves should be closed after the
pressure of the Aorta overcome the pressure of the left ventricle , and the
S2 represents this closure of the valve , so why there is a delay of S2
from this moment ? )
