2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Competition Group with Open Headers

That sound is with open headers - meaning there are no mufflers or
resonator. It was way to loud for everyday use, but kinda cool for 30
minutes :). I have done a lot of work since I made that video. I have done
all of this on a very small budget. Here is the order I did things:
1) K&N drop in air filter and remove sound baffle (don't buy a short cone
filter - they're actually worse than the stock airbox because they don't
pull air from the fenderwell)
3) 3 inch down-pipe - I got one with a high flow catalytic converter
4) Cut out the resonator and replaced it with a straight piece of pipe IF
you want more sound through the stock mufflers (it sounds pretty crappy
until you do the PCM to be honest)
5) Tower strut brace - CRUCIAL if you want to reduce horrible understeer
6) Colder spark plugs and wires - I went with TR-6's
7) 180 degree thermostat and throttle body spacer - for better cooling
8) ZZP 1.0 PCM
9) 3.5 inch supercharger pulley and oversize 3.5 inch tensioner pulley
The expensive things I really want now are wider and stickier tires (I want
255/45/18 at all corners which won't throw off the speedo), an intercooler
(these cars run sooo hot), coilovers, headers, injectors, and a light cam.
I probably won't do any of these things because I don't want to spend the
money, but that's how to get the most out of your GTP. I buy almost
everything from ZZP. The company is great. If I had to pick three things
from this list, I would go with the ZZP PCM , the tower strut bar, and the
K&N drop in filter. That's a great place to start. Ask me questions if you
have any.
