Cleaning a 2003 Cadillac CTS Throttle Body diagnosed with rough idle, loss of power, or stalling. Try this before installing a new one, its worth a try. Worked for ...
Our nav screen never indicated the loss of oil, which was pretty
discouraging considering it was a cadillac, even my chevy avalanche has a
low engine oil light. We did receive a "service engine light" but was
related to something else, i don't exactly remember what. We also had the
crank sensor go out on us while we were on vacation, leaving us stranded at
the hotel. We had to have the car towed and repaired at a dealership.
Please don't get me started withe the oil leak!!! lol. Actually the engine
leaked oil everywhere. I had nearly all the gaskets replaced on the engine
and it still leaked oil. So after spending nearly $2500 to get them
replaced we ended up trading it in for a Suburban. Our oil leak wa
absolutley terrible, it leaked about a quart a week at its worst. Believe
it or not though, the engine ran absolutely great in the end.
jeez lol i'm sorry to hear that but mine isn't that bad. it's liteally a
couple drops a day and i haven't had the gaskets replaced but hopefully
that'll fix the problem. Oh and thank you for the video i am going to do
this tomorrow because it's idling and riding a little rough so hopefully
this will fix that. did you have any problems after cleaning the TB?
Thanks, Matt
No I don't. This engine had multiple issues bigger than just the throttle
body. We had all the gaskets replaced on the engine and it still leaked oil
everyday, which had cost us several thousand dollars to do. It leaked about
a 2 quarts a week at its worst. We gladlly traded it in for a Chevy
Suburban when the dealer offered us $4000 for it!!
Yes, thanks, this actually saved me $156 on my 2007 CTS, a little easier on
the 07, the dealer wanted $160, the $4 can from auto zone, worked great! I
suggest using a clean real towel to soak up the liquid in the body well,
not paper.
Nice job! Believe it or not, but an old, used tooth brush can be your best
friend when cleaning out a throttle body like this. Always kept one in my
tool box. Still do.
no problem guys. it helped a little but ended up buying a new throttle body
anway. my car had more issues than just the dirty throttle body.
unfortunately.
It still idled rough. I ended up buying another throttle body and installed
it myself. Real easy by the way. After replacing it it still idled
rough.....:(
2016 Cadillac CTS-V: Just How Good Is The Cadillac With The Corvette Engine? - Ignition Ep. 141
On this episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack, racing pro Randy Pobst gets his mitts on the brand new, third-generation Cadillac CTS-V. When the ...
+Camilo Espinoza The M5 does not have a higher trap speed than the NEW CTS-V at all, anywhere. You need to do YOUR homework. It sounds to me like you're comparing the M5 to the OLD CTS-V. The OLD CTS-V had 120-121 mph trap speeds. The new one is much faster than that.
+Vernon Price I already apologized for my writin, or we can just do it in spanish or french if you can. Any way, already told that I m done with you, you re senseless, probably dumb, really dumb. Btw, check Motor Trend vídeos, you ll see that the heavier and less powerfull BMW M5 Competition Package is faster 0-60 and has higher speed trap on a 1/4 mile. Do you re home work please, I m tired of teaching. And go away, please, you re just a fanboy who is too butthurt for using some reason.
+Camilo Espinoza Says the guy who doesn't' know how to spell "lose". I told you to SHOW ME where CTS-Vs are overheating. You didn't and you can't, so you are clearly full of shit. You had your chance to back up your bullshit. The BMW is not faster than the CTS-V... at all. Like the E63, the BMW has a lower trap speed than the CTS-V. In what way does that make you think the BMW is faster? Does a lower MPH signify "faster" to you?
aw.. what ever dude, I see you re just that kind of person. not gonna loose my time. Have a good one looser.btw, explain to me how the Bimmer is faster then since you care so much about big power and low weight hahaha
+Camilo Espinoza So if the AMG has a lower trap speed, you think that's the same thing as faster? Really? Have you ever been to a drag strip in your life? Actually don't bother answering that - you're the idiot who thinks 0-60 is a valid form of measurement. Also where is the CTS-V overheating at the track? Show it to me.
+Vernon Price aww you poor thing, don't be so hard on yourself. Well since we are talking luxury sedans I d rather doing the quarter mile in less time than going less than half a mile faster at the end of it ( 0.2 miles ), those are just facts.. not optional ; ) then again, the M5 competion package is RWD and does have a better 0-60 time despite havin a worse power to weight ratio (less power & more weight) and also has a better trap speed in a 1/4 race ( but that bimmer is just to expensive ). if you re gonna keep talking about the weight then say something about the brakes, those are great in the CTS-V, it actually can stop better than the germans. although is a Cad so they probably fade after some abuse.Anyway, as I said before I would take any day the AMG over the Cad, it's better built, faster in the quarter mile, faster 0-60, has better interior and will not over heat after 5 laps at the track. I m not even going to bring The Q ("Cadillac user experience") because is just trash.apology for my writing, english is not my first neither second language. =)
+Camilo Espinoza The AMG is faster 0-60 because it has AWD. I swear to god if I have to explain to you what effect AWD traction has on 0-60 times I am going to reach through the screen and beat you senseless.Do YOU know what traction is? It's the thing that is measured by 0-60,l because 0-60 is not a valid measurement of performance ESPECIALLY when you're comparing an AWD car to a RWD one. Any idiot knows that. The CTS hits a higher trap speed than the E63 S does DESPITE having a traction disadvantage which means that it's FASTER. You understand what a higher trap speed in a 1/4 mile race means, right? And that's because, once again, the CTS-V has less weight and more power, a better power to weight ratio and therefore a faster speed. Physics. Not optional.Even with the AMG being underrated it's STILL less than teh CTS-V, and it STILL weighs more than the CTS-V so the CTS-V STILL has a better power to weight ratio. Jesus christ it's like you're a child that needs everything explained to you.
+Vernon Price sure, that's probably why the AMG is faster 0-60 and takes less time to do the 1/4 mile. They also made the same time around the figure 8.. You do know what traction is, right? Would take the Merc every single day over the Cad boy. Plus, is known the AMG engine produce more power and way more torque than what the paper says
+Camilo Espinoza Not even close. The E63 S weighs hundreds of lbs more and has less HP. You do know what a power to weight ratio is, right? Same wth the M5, it weighs more and has less HP. The CTS-V blows both their doors off.
Challenger Hellcat, sloppy? At least mine isn't a freaking four door with a
girls automatic. Loser. My apologies to all the girls out there who love
banging the gears like I do.
To trap 176 mph in the standing mile is pretty impressive for this car. For
reference the Corvette ZR-1 posted a trap speed of 177 mph in the standing
mile and the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 174 mph in the standing mile.
Watch our Cadillac CTS review with this video from Consumer Reports and get more car info on our website: //www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/index.htm ...
I admire Consumer Reports for being as unbalanced as they can be, but I
have a huge pet peeve about their video reviews. Every review has a bad
tendency to include bad sentences. For example, "The 3 series, it's still
more fun to drive," rather than, "The 3 series is more fun to drive."
Consumer Reports, please pay attention to the sentence structure. I don't
mind an occasional error like that, but every video I see contains multiple
examples, and I never see that in your magazine.
the only problem that prevent me from considering this car is its shitty
rear seat head room if u are over 180cm tall, u basically cant seat in the
back for long trips, cuz u cant lean ur back against the back seat (cuz ur
head will be hitting against the ceiling before ur back can reach the back
of the seat) this doesnt happen when i was seating in the back of bmw 3/5,
mercedes c/e or audi a4/6
@LNMagic Well 3 series might still be fun to drive despite its enlarged
size added electronic features etc. The BMW I drove was an 85 and it was
really fun to drive. The main difference is that the newer ones are coffin
when it is compared to them. Yet they may still be fun to drive ... GOT IT?
I bought a 2008 CTS. Direct Injection model with 78k miles on it. It is an
incredible value in the used car market at $18,998. The only feature that I
wish that it had was bluetooth. It has an OnStar phone system with its own
phone number seperate from my cell.
And Motor Trend is? Sorry, but this is the only major review source that
isn't connected to the companies they represent through advertisements.
Yes, I know there are independent reviewers and bloggers out there, but
they don't have dedicated test facilities.
I dunno people can get 600hp out of a 4 cylinder and like 900 or more on a supra motor with high boost. Put a twin turbo on the ATS and it should scream. If I am not mistaken Hennessey has already done a twin turbo CTS-V with like 1000hp
You can say that about anything in life...why bother? The guy is obviously an enthusiast who wanted to get more out of his CTS-V; let him be?Edit: Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness...fundamental rights, Nizmo.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V Chassis Dyno Testing
Hennessey Performance (HPE) test the factory stock 2016 Cadillac CTS-V on the company's Dynojet chassis dyno. Results: 548 rear wheel HP and 511 rear ...
This car needs an aftermarket exhaust badly. It sounds epic, but it doesn't
sound as "open" as the Z06, and considering it's the same engine, IT NEEDS
THAT AFTERMARKET EXHAUST!
I can see Cadillac's point though, being a 4 door saloon. But still
2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport: Boosting Ahead of the Germans in Their Own Game! - Ignition Ep. 90
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago returns to the Hyundai Proving Grounds to try out Cadillac's new, twin-turbo CTS Vsport, which might be one of the ...
Love your reviews but I disagree with the interior comments. Cadillac makes
excellent interiors now and you bash this one based on CUE. That is where I
find many people ignore that with the Germans, especially Benz, you have to
toggle menus to do everything while taking your eyes from the road. In a
Mercedes you can't even use certain voice controls till you toggle menus.
Sorry no one will tell the true about that...I have no issue with CUE.
