Have you decided what to do to your hair during basic? My words of advice, I really don't know how airforce basic is but in general don't let your RDC's punk you they are going to yell and scream at all you, and beat you( that just means work you out real hard), but whatever you do don't be that chic that crys all the time about how she can't do it, and last but not least don't lock your knees in formation and be that chic that passes out in front of everyone TTHATS MOST IMPORTANT, good luck!!!

SOoooo I had NO idea what BMT was. Decided to Google. WHOA! The AF puts it all out there on their site! Week-by-week breakdowns with schedules, vids and pics...now of course this is nowhere near truly depicting what it's gonna be like, but GET EM!!!!! I didn't know just how stickler for detail it was- no dirty toothpaste caps, no rolling toothbrushes. WHOA! I get it though. Training you to take the minute details as life and death could BE the diff between life and death later. Rock it, sis!

Actually, I'll say up front I graduated this june at bmt, and my TI said that only black girls can lol. All the white girls got vanned from corn braids. But during beast week anyone can :) But I would recommend just bringing shampoo, flip flops (Black), and tooth brush that all you need for that first night. It will be crazy trust me but just pretend to be a robot and you'll be ok. and btw you can't wear a reg bra until you graduate.And def pack a small black watch. You'll thank me later. :)

ikr, that "nude" thing always irks me. what they call nude is cream or beige to me. my nude is coffee with a little cream! and the panty part is ridiculous...you pretty much have to get granny panties if you want basic neutral colors in cotton, lol. (btw, you can still wash your scalp to cut down on build-up. try to use sulfate-free shampoo...clear shampoo is very drying to natural hair and will cause tons of damage, breakage, tangles, knots, & split-ends.)

Might as well take those earrings out now, LOL, not authorized. God bless on your military career. 2012 Retired Navy!!!!! Remember to not get the cornrows to big, can't show much scalp....better check Air Force regulations, if you haven't asked someone or they will make you take them out, which would be irritating. I plopped two cornrows on my head at Officer Candidate School and was told not authorized. LOL, ugggh. Ended up cutting it short.

To help you out some when you goto basic dont take a lot of stuff cuz when you leave you'll have enough as is... You are given socks and they can ONLY be white so only take 2 pair compression shorts when they take you shopping they are pretty cheap and dont label any of your stuff before you go... Panties it really dont matter what color they are i had a couple orange pairs.. HAVE FUNNNN!!!

Wait until you get there to label anything! The MTIs are extremely anal about that and you will not believe how many people will make several mistakes with such an easy task lol. They will have a white marker for dark clothing items. Your undergarments will be kept in a mesh bag for washing so you do not have to label them. Good luck with everything, its about to get crazy :)

For underwear these work great for BMT! They cover up your butt completely and aren't up to your belly button but cover you up enough so that if you bend over your not having your crack out. lmao. "floppin" the padded one i got from walmart too. the brand is Danskin and i think it might have been around 11-13 dollars. it's pretty good but even still sometimes i wear a really crappy regular sports bra on the outside so that the girls don't go NO. WHERE.

Just saying, Cotton is horrible to wear when working out. The cotton soaks up your sweat and then rubs against your skin. Spandex wicks the sweat away. For my cross country and track running I hate wearing cotton but If cotton works for you use it then!

What she said do notlet the punk you. And you better not cry because they will be on you like white on rice. Take allll.. Your hair products and be sure to moisturize . Try doing braid outs at night to make it str8 enough to pull into a Bun or whatever.

i guess it differs by person. i feel like spandex traps everything. =/ i havent' had many spandex encounters but i guess i'm just going with what i know. i'll have to do a comparison with the spandex ones i got and my cotton ones ha.

Its been 61 years since I first put on AF Blue. I spent the next 22+years flying =Pt 18 ,T6, B25,then wings and 2nd Lt bars..then the hard work and fun began. .B29, B47, T33, F102, B58, B58ip, C123, C123ip, (Vietnam ),T29 and a very uncomfortable desk.

Your suppose to stuff it with socks so that the creases are spread out and then you iron it. It does work.
