+hadmiar8 I saw that map too. :(By eyeballing the number of people wearing ballcaps of each team, the A's are by far the favorite team of the East Bay. The South Bay is heavily Giants, though. And Giants hats aren't uncommon in the East Bay but they're almost unheard of in most of Giants territory. The only exception is San Francisco but I reckon that's East Bay people visiting.I don't have a link, but there was a Bay Area-wide poll right before the 1989 World Series about which team people favored. The Giants led by over 10 percentage points. Many A's fans here dislike the Giants but I know plenty of Giants fans who wish the A's well and go to A's games because Giants tickets are too expensive. Is it common for people to like both teams in New York?
+blimptonThe Mets and A's, according to an fan map, have no abundance of fans in any county. I bet if you looked in 1988 and when they were both dominant teams, and the Yankees and Giants were mediocre at best, the story would be quite different.Or maybe in 2006 when the Mets had the best record in baseball.
