+David Lagadi You can usually adjust the antenna mast. The motor on this vehicle isn't adjustable. Not sure what the cost would be. Depends if you go to a dealership vs private garage.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills. In my 1997 Maxima, when I apply my brake, the antenna lowers. I am far from an expert. Given this behavior, if I bring my car to an expert, what advice would you give for the sequence of troubleshooting steps? Other symptoms include the antenna not raising at all after the car has been running for a while. The cassette player mechanism works fine - I plug my iPhone into a cassette player adapter. I guess the problem could be electrical in nature ... Have you run across a symptom like this?

+TheCharliegavinelli I had a similar problem many years ago with a 300zx. The antenna mast would sometimes go up a little or not at all. Check the mast itself. The plastic teeth strip out over time and needs to be replaced. It's a simple DIY; just search youtube. Regarding the brakes, that's a new one for me. I'd start by replacing the mast first and going from there.

I replaced the mast in my 91 maxima but when I reinstalled it, it was like the polarity was switched. When I turn it on it goes down. And visa versa. I can't seem to find any clear solutions, any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Thank you. Will try to mess with the mast again. I looked last night and thought the whole assembly oem was only 60 dollars. I did see another part number oem also for 170. You are probably right. Definitely want to recheck it. Thanks for the video.

+Eric S Sounds like the mast isn't fully inserted but if you're looking for the entire assembly the part number is 28200-85E06. If you search on ebay for seller genuinenissanparts. But try reinserting the mast. The entire assembly is close to $200.

+CarsNToys the antenna mast has been replaced. The motor still works. The antenna will rise, but not retract fully. There is about 4 to 6 inches showing.

+Eric S Does the antenna still power on and off? (Do you hear the motor turn on and off.) You may only need an antenna mast instead of the entire assembly.

98 hp ? pos i own a versa and really don't like it. Civic is better, own one too, and am not even a big fan of civics. Best compact I've ever had: cobalt turbo. amazing performance and mileage. Best in class and affordable and rpd haven't seen replicated in any car near price range that was so easy to use and so bloody informative. Why GM !!?? Put those goodies into cruze or something! Freaken cobalt ss engine in new cadilacs and buicks, need in affordable light car. Epic fail for not continuing

At least this one looks even car, not like copy of Beetle Micra, combination with icecube and WV Beetle like Nissan Note or piece of shit after bumpy road like Juke (read Joke). I´d like to see hatcback of this sedan version. Not the prettiest but ok still.

If it had the 188 hp 1.6L turbo from the Juke it will make sense to make a Nismo version not this 98hp 1.5L pos...
