3 Complaints with the 2015 Nissan Leaf
I have had the 2015 Nissan Leaf SL for about 3 weeks now, and these are three small complaints that I find frustrating with the car.
I agree with the 3rd one. It's more that annoying and frankly can be
dangerous. You could locked a kid, who may forget to come out, and he can
not open the doors from the inside.
I dont see any of these a problem. I love the car lock itself when it
exceeds 25km/h
Actual Owner's 2012 Nissan Leaf Review
Finally, a real-world review of the 2012 Nissan Leaf by owners Bob & Karen. Most all your questions will be answered about Leaf ownership in this video.
Bob, it is still cheaper to own a Gas car. Resale is very bad. The
batteries do ware out the more you charge them and one day, they die for
ever. $10,000.00 to replace them. The far right capacity bar is programmed
to stay at the top. What the dealer don't tell you this is what they go by
to warranty the batteries. In other words as long as the capacity is full
there is no warranty to replace them if you loose miles after a charge.
Once you charge the car a lot you will drop to 80 miles top. Make sure if
you go out of town 50 miles you better look for a charger to go home.
Warning? Make sure the charging station is open and not locked up. Only the
fast charger is at the dealerships and they close and they are locked up.
Way cheaper to own a gas car. Gas is going down in price. $1.79 a gal. Not
a good investment. Wait till you trade it or sell it. I own a 2015 and the
most I can get on a resale is 11000.00 to 15,000.00. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE
OWNING A LEAF. ALSO WAIT TILL WINTER, THE MILES GOES WAY DOWN WHEN YOU USE
THE HEATER.
+Leon Hollida I've seen cars on the lot that have a lower bar for max capacity, it isnt stuck there, no conspiracy here. Li-on batteries never die, they just lose capacity. after about 100,000 miles you'll probably see about a 20% loss in capacity, and that loss will actually get exponentially slower with the more miles you have. Basically, this car with 250,000 miles will probably still have a legitimately usable range of about 45-50 miles. That'll still get most people to work and back. Also, sure a gas car is cheaper, but they suck. Lots of moving parts that can all fail, smelly, loud, bad for the environment. You obviously bought the car so I hope that you appreciate its place in the current market as a more environmentally friendly form of transportation, albeit with a premium. Pro-Tip, don't use the heater :p
I own a 2013 Nissan Leaf. What they don't tell you is when signing the
papers of your new Leaf, there is a paper that will not cover the batteries
and believe me you did sign it. Do they tell you that in the sale of your
Leaf? NO! if there is a drop in miles after the charging. to 80% your
stuck. Just look for a charger when going out of town. With Gas prices at
it's lowest, still cheaper to own a Gas car. Resale is very bad for the
Leaf. Do not purchase one just lease it. Pray your batteries hold up. You
will have a fight. Nissan covers there butt really good.
+Leon Hollida Jeez man, you are all over these comments, whats your problem? Most people understand its not cheaper, but they actually care about their environmental impact on the world.
Electric vehicles, bicycles and mass transit are the future.........
The sooner we transition to alternative energy sources like wind, solar and
second generation biofuels made from cellulose, algae and waste the
better........
+Kenz300 x Ken- this is just the change from being Hunter-Gatherers of our energy supply, to farmers of a permanent supply. We did this with food thousands of years ago... and the sooner we do it with energy, the less painful it will be.
