hi i need help i did jailbreak with redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2 everything worked now i have 5.1.1 but my sim said no service what could be the problem. Another problem is when i try to jailbreak with absinthe-win-2.0.4 newer program i cannot jailbreak with it keep saying i need activate device plug in unplug i did so after putting back my usb it says error device iphone4 5.1.1 what am i doing wrong plzzz helpp i cannot use my sim can someone plzz help me .

Hi, having major issues with just upgrading my 3gs (new bootrom). In a nutshell, I bought it jailbroken in 4.1 ios. I have tried to upgrade it to 5.1.1 via redsnow and then itunes in a restore. It keeps failing. Should I unjailbreak it, then ugrade it, then jailbreak it again? Long message so please feel free to send me a message if it is a long process. Thanks in advance

Connect the device to your PC/Mac open up iTunes set the device in DFU mode: hold the home and power button down together for 10 seconds then release the power button and keep a hold of the home button for a further 5 seconds iTunes will now recognise the device in restore mode hit the restore button and choose to set the device up as new then proceed to jailbreak.

Well, you're going to like this, the host file was already sorted, what it was was I tried moving the usb from 3 to 2 and it worked right away, then jailbroke then ultrasn0w and now it is fine and works perfect. Just a usb thing. Wonder if anyone else has had that problem? Thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated

I'm on iPhone 4 with baseband 4.12.01 recently restored and jailboken/hacktivated (redsnow) on 5.0.1. I have already tried sam unlock and it didn't work (I live outside the US), I see ultrasn0w does not support this baseband... Do you know when the unlock for this baseband will come out?

I do everything right and I checked the iOS and everything, but when it tells me to put my ipod in DFU mode it says it could not detect an ipod in DFU mode. I watched a video and it used iTunes to check if it was in DFU mode. Do you need iTunes for this to work?

This could be due to the device having previous jailbreak data restore the device in iTunes to a fresh iOS 6.0.1 choose to set the device up as new do not restore from a backup then proceed to jailbreak with my new Redsn0w video available on my channel.

Hi, i got an Iphone 4s (5.0.1) jailbroken. Now, it stuck in the recovery mode. I can switch in the DFU mode. I follow your three steps and after the 3rd step it says "your ihpone isn't supported" Could you give me a hint please?

If you have Cydia it worked if you want to delete jailbreak data for best results restore the device in iTunes and choose to set the device up as new.

go to - absinthejailbreak(dot)com/download-ios-6-ipsw-firmware-iphone-ipod-ipad/ - and find what system you are on iphone/ipod/ipad etc. and download it. Then once you have it downloaded, go back to redsn0w, click on 'extras' , then click 'select ipsw' and browse for the file you just downloaded. Hope this helps, goodluck :)

how bout you answer with some thoroughness? your methods get half of us to a screen that is not present in your video... it doesnt load to the part where you install cydia.. it just says waiting for reboot... how do you reboot using your computer at the moment?

PEOPLE to fix the WAITING FOR REBOOT error... it keeps rebooting cause you are jailbreaking without ipsw so you need the ipsw and after downloading it and entering it in the redsn0w program it should work fine :) THUMBS UP SO EVERYONE CAN SEE

so it rebooted with the pineapple logo instead of the apple, no cydia anywhere. nothings changed. i would try a different jailbreak but i dont know if a jailbreak ontop of a jailbreak is possible or harmful to my device. some help would be appreciated

now the latest version of redsn0w is 0.6.15b2 and the latest version of iTunes is 10.7.0.22 (10.7) is true and if you cannot do it correctly so you can just skip step 1 and start with step 2 (press the power+home button at the same time in 10 second) and step 3(after 10 second, release the power button and keep pressing the home button for about ~~15 minutes) but if it doesn't work so i just have the another way: surrender

I really need help. I'm trying this on an iPhone 3GS, I do everything perfectly, but it NEVER picks up the DFU Mode, it just says I failed. I know it's in DFU mode, because the only way to get rid of the black screen is to hold Power and Home until the Apple logo comes on the screen. Another problem related to this, iTunes never picks up the DFU Mode either, and I have the latest version, 10.7.0.22, I believe.
