Mic's pick up different frequencies than the human ear and replicate them so we hear things differently on a raw track than we do in person or live.  A lot of the producing and editing is actually the producer trying to make the singer's raw tracks sound like what people actually hear :).

thats how he sounds unedited. they say this is a very "raw" album meaning they dont do a whole lot of editing and if they play it live it will sound exactly the same or close
