What does consumer reports know about cars

+Rata 4 U Of that my low forehead friend, I have no doubt.

+itsmegp46 Well I would have resorted to violence but the internet in the present form has it's limitations.

+Rata 4 U There is an old saying. Resorting to insults in an attempt to win an argument is a sign of a tiny, malformed mind.

+itsmegp46 nothing for you - wow, you find that hard to believe. Bet you felt that way when your wet nurse left.

+Rata 4 U So you got nothing and resort to cursing and insults. Proof enough you don't know anything.

+Rata 4 U Whether in a court of law or just posting on youtube, if you make a claim as fact (but now you change it to an opinion), be prepared to back up your claim or it doesn't exist. I've been reading Consumer Reports for over 30 years, nothing, absolutely nothing of what you claim has ever been brought out. If you don't like their findings, fine, that's your right, but don't make up nonsense.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+itsmegp46 Yeah you need to because this isn't a court of law. I'm sharing an opinion with you based on my observation. I'm not your servant so if you want to make a big deal of something Google it like everybody else. Sheesh.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Rata 4 U I don't have to google anything. You made the claim, YOU prove it.

+itsmegp46 Google it Consumer Reports vs....
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Rata 4 U I don't believe any of what you wrote. Prove it.

+itsmegp46 Yet when you tell some consumers that truth they refuse to accept it because their favorite car isn't scoring high on JD's list. They would rather follow JD which is a biased magazine.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Rata 4 U Consumers Union, the publishers of Consumer Reports magazine also employ automotive engineers, who by definition, know a lot more about cars than the average buyer. What they don't do is just gather information and regurgitate it in a publication. They purchase dozens of cars every year and thoroughly test them at their own facility. In addition, the cars they test are not supplied by the car makers that might be specially prepped by them. CU buys their cars at everyday dealerships like you and I.

The clue is in it's name "consumers report" - the owners report the status of their vehicles. CR tracks thousands of cars for years too. It's the bible of the car industry.

+richie rich What an incredibly ignorant question.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Hahahahaha... This video is only looking at newer model vehicles... Try out a 1976 Ford... This bastards (with the 302) are still around and kicking like ever... You should broaden your search to include all vehicles around.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
You still see 302 Fords, you just don't realize it.. Many are brand new 302's, but we look at them all in liters now.. At any rate, there are American V8's and V6's that get way more milage than foreign jobs. Some American trucks are getting 600,000 miles on them and still "trucking" along. That's saying a lot given that they are moving big, heavy truck frames and bodies as well as people and equipment for long hours. American vehicles are meant to keep going. With that being said I recently bought a brand new Toyota. Mainly because I know it will last.. does it have power? Hell No. Will it look okay in 5 years. No. Will it outlast an american vehicle doing the same. No. However, it will outlast what I do to vehicles because I'm not hauling, towing, or sporting it around like an american hot rod or truck and it costs just a tad less than competitors. To be completely honest Japanese vehicles are underpowered for the liters they have and for the awd system they administer power through... all in a form of playing it safe rather than being boisterous and ready for the road ahead. Look at Nissan for example.. Probably the only Japanese car company to put real HP to their vehicles and their Frontiers transmissions and engines need serious work around 80,000 miles.Take it for a grain of salt if you want, but it's true.

I've never seen a 76 Ford. In my city we judge based on what we see on the old cars we see on the road everyday....Honda Toyota Nissan.

I had a 1953 Starliner, Black with red interior. I believe if you check this car ran the track at Indy faster than the Indy cars that year. Yet, people who claim they know muscle cars never seem to be aware of that. Also, don't even think of changing the subdued timing. It makes so-called "muscle cars" look like wimps. Of all the Studes the 1955 Speedster is my favorite. Right up there with my 2014 Boxster S.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Kick the timing up to 20 degrees and go find "muscle cars" to eat. But, be very careful it is very dangerous. With the 4:11 rear end it's a killer. Found out the worst way possible.
