This is the third video in the UK Gun Laws series focusing on what guns can be owned in the UK with a shotgun and firearms license. Shooting in the UK can be ...
+yankeydoodle101 Yep, we're not restricted on caliber at all in the UK, not for bolt action anyway. You can get a .50BMG if you have somewhere to shoot it, not for deer though ;-). The best thing would be to find a local club or someone that already goes deer stalking to mentor you.
+yankeydoodle101 An FEO wouldn't give permission for a .22LR for deer, not even fox. A .22LR can kill most things, deer included, with the right shot placement but it just wouldn't be humane to use .22LR as you greatly increase the chance of just injuring the animal. You'd need .308 ideally.
Would a semi-automatic with the gas block removed be legal? It would
function as a straight pull, but still be able to be converted back to
semi-automatic if you left the country.
+000Bob000jones000 Also, why allow DA revolvers but not semi-automatics? For the purposes of gun control, they are essentially the same thing. If it's capacity that they were worried about, then why not just put a limit on that?
+Luke Almond For a meth addict, very hard, so no need to worry.
Gun Laws UK vs US and Why Banning Guns in the US Wouldn't Work
I don't think I've had a discussion about gun laws, gun control and banning guns without someone trying to compare the two countries. There are a few ...
Errrrr.....yes it is the answer. Changing the gun laws in America to mirror
the UK's will significantly reduce the amount of gun deaths in the US. What
do you believe the alternative is ????? Let me sit down and strap myself
in.......okay lay it on me.
+ADAM BRAILSFORD Ah, see there's the difference. You said ban guns, not implement the laws that the UK has. Maybe you weren't paying attention during the video but bringing in the same laws wouldn't work. However I think some basic laws would help such as mandatory secure storage and a basic competency test.
When innocent little Kids are getting slaughtered at school it's time to
end gun ownership in the states.or is it when guns are regularly being used
to slaughter cinema audiences , church congregations , students or co
workers. Or is it when Guns killing 30,000 human beings a year . Ban
fucking guns end the insanity , insecurity, tragic deaths and inhumanity
they are causing.
You'll eat your words when your government arms the Islamic invaders, and
your military disarms the restricted gun owners as they murder and plunder
your people, I symphonthetic, I'm a American, and see the planned invasion
hear.
You would like handguns and semis automatics be made legal in the UK? Are
you a complete tool or what? How about turning up at your kids school
finding out he/she was shot dead. Look at the US you complete cock.
+Ian Davies This is the issue, you're letting emotions overtake logic. It's not about what guns can be owned, it's about who can own them. There's nothing special about a handgun or semi-auto full-bore rifle, I own a semi-auto 12g shotgun that can hold 10 rounds and more if I wanted, I can also by slug rounds. Why is that any less dangerous than a handgun or rifle? It's not. No gun is dangerous, it's the person behind it that makes it dangerous. We have some of the best licensing in the world meaning that there are practically zero deaths due to legally own guns, over 2.5 million guns to be precise. Why? Because we make sure only mentally fit people own guns in the UK. Unlike the US.
+Ian Davies Sorry too much swearing there. Got a bit emotional.
London: Strictest Gun Laws in the World -- Oops.. We may have made a Mistake.
Ok.. I was right.. London/Great Britain are some of the most Strict in the World.. The Police are the only ones with Guns.. They are Rightfully Scared of ISIS, etc.
+Josh Sharp You are absolutely correct.. Thanks for your comment.I had a conversation with a Liberal today.. I asked her a question.. We have a problem today.. One side wants to take our Guns.. The other side replies.. When you take them from my cold dead hands. Can this problem be solved today?? She said, No.. No one would agree.. I told her. Yes, but, it was because no one debates issues any longer.. Not many are educated enough to debate... But, I told her, there is an answer based on History.. When we did not have the Democrat and Republican Party.. We had the Federalist and Anti that party.. IE.. Anti-Federalists.. And,, I told her.. But to answer your question.. Last time we faced this question,,, we came to a Unanimous consent.. May I introduce you to the "2nd Amendment"... A lot different than the answer she expected... You have the Right to Maintain a Well Organized Militia for the Protection of the Free State,, and your Right to Bear Arms, Shall Not Be Infringed... Amazing.. In English,, the Subject of the sentence comes first.. We were Authorized a Militia,,,, and our Right to Bear "ARMS",, were anything from Pitch forks to Cannons back then... Cheers..
+Lord Of frog ..and the country where most people aren't law abiding citizens is. . ..? I fail to see your point there. I'm all ears for this gun free zone though, how does that work ? You're not allowing to have a gun in these states ? Every car crossing the state line is searched for weapons ??
+Lord Of frog It doesn't, killing with a gun can be done in an instant of bad temper, it's quick and easy and (for the right mind set) a fantasy video game come true. Killing with a knife or hands is messy, brutal and I wouldn't even take the effort to compare with gun crime stats. //www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/heres-a-map-of-all-the-mass-shootings-in-2015/ . Allowing for population density these figures should be just five times more than the uk multiple murder stats, get back to me if they are.
+BeKindRewind yeah, it's harder to kill with knives, when everyone else has
guns! Again, correlation does NOT equal causation. Violence will happen no
matter what, there are always evil people, guns are fine as long as we
don't hand them out to everyone.
+Matthew EberlyBut they're eventually going to get called out on it by people who actually know what they're talking about so why don't they try a different line of argument
You have to see first off, differences in types of population and sizes
thereof, then you also need to check how many other types of murders with
similar weapons (knives, swords, suffocating etc.) before you can really
say which one's safer. It'd be fine if we'd quit giving them to stupid
sociopaths!

You can set up a trust with an attorney and fill out the online eform 1 or
4 and it is faster than 6 months. Form 1 is if you build it and 4 is if you
buy it.
+EnglishShooting It is new-ish and fewer people do them. I have heard people getting their paperwork processed in 30-60 days if they do it online. Having a trust eliminates the need of a police department to sign off on the paperwork. Also with a trust you can easily add people to it so they have the right to use your firearms and suppressors.

Interesting, I've been reading about their short barrelled rifle and
shotgun laws and comparing them to our laws as well. We don't seem to have
anything like what the Americans have in terms of regulations like that.
For minimum barrel length the regulations are typically about 250mm for air
rifles, 330mm for rifles, 450mm for shotguns) handguns may be given a
maximum barrel length (typically about 400mm). The minimum barrel lengths
for recreational (ie, pistol club shooting) handguns imposed with the
handgun amendments is 100mm and for semi-automatics 120mm. As for having
the firearm cut down you need to get it signed off by a Police chief but
that's pretty easy. I guess we both have that advantage over the Americans
but I would still prefer their laws in regards to suppressors since we
can't own or use them here and I would take their regulations on machine
guns over what we have.
+shooter downunder America does seem to have a few odd laws here and there and depending on which State you live in there the laws can get fairly bad but no matter which way you look at it, they always come out on top. It's the gun Meca and if I was to win the lottery I'd by a house out there straight away and just fill it with guns :-)
The tax stamp isn't really the problem, it's getting the Chief Law
Enforcement Officer (CLEO) signoff. Where I live, the Sheriff is awesome
and signs off without a problem. Other counties the sheriff will never
sign them. This is why people have been creating trusts to get around the
CLEO signoff, since it's not required for a trust.
+geezerp1982 No you don't have to renew it. Once the tax is paid and the stamp is issued to you it's yours to keep. The problem is if you die or want to transfer the gun to someone. The other problem is taking a class three firearm across state linesFull auto is a lot of fun, a whole lot of fun...but, they're expensive to feed and really expensive to buy. .
+EnglishShooting The whole $200 tax stamp is a joke. It was enacted in the 1930's and never indexed for inflation (or devaluation of the dollar). So the intended effect of a ridiculously high tax in the 30's has now just become a nuisance.
+JohnnyIShootStuff I didn't know about that, but it does go to show that laws in some cases are completely pointless because they're just going to be easily bypassed.
