Lovely ad that, it was almost the only ad I didn't resent during a
commercial break. I remember seeing it when I was a little boy (they kept
that one running for years) & it just has that nice something about it
unlike the flurry of ads selling crap these days. Did you know that after
that kindly old man died, this ad was given a final run and someone who
wrote a book about fly fishing did it under the pseudonym J.R. Hartley. No
wonder J.R. Hartley became such a cult figure.
It is funny this advert was made before I was even born but I saw it
afterwards and it is one of my favourites I just like how he says his name
"oh yes it`s JR Hartley". I bet he was educated at Eton or somewhere ha ha
it is always on the 100 greatest ads one of the best ads of all time I bet
the old man is not alive now. :)
Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie do a spoof of this advert type into youtube fry
and laurie yellow pages and then click on the first video at the top called
Yellow Pages advert spoof- A Bit of Fry and Laurie- BBC Comedy, it is so
funny, last yr I did a btec media course and a boy did a spoof of this
advert they are both funny
0:33 - 0:37 "We're not here for the nasty things in life like a blocked
drain." Blocked drain?? I can think of much nastier than that! My next
dooor neighbour wiped his own shit on the traffics lights button as a
practical joke!!
@mervycowan Chris Moyles is a chubby tit who's grown two old for the
intended demographic of his radio station. Like Mike Smash and Dave nice
it's high time he moved to "Radio Quiet".
if you are freaking out over that maybe it is you who needs to go and buy a
sense of humour. It's not always easy to tell when someone's joking when it
exists solely in text form
The old fool should have just googled it. Don't tell me it was before the
internet, they always had it but only the smart people like Lou Gehrig and
Dali knew about it though.
chris moyles is a gimp. this ad is a piece of tv history and all the
comments are about some chubby tit who talks crap on mind-numbing radio 1.
you all suck
@RakerOfTheMuck there are many piece where you can convert old reels on to
DVD if you on the google " old film reels converted to dvd" should get you

all of the lines all have interconnecting lines apart from the waterloo and
city line. There is also a few connections to the mainline railway, so if
new trains are delivered a mainline locomotive will haul it unto london
underground rails and then london undergrounds own locomotive will haul it
to the depot for testing
Great song. Cool, nice find, I helped a lot with this at the time (I
reotuched and organised the massive image files). Were you the designer, I
was working at Madark.
First shown in 1991 - a guy who's just taken advantage of his parents being away by throwing a party awakens to a nasty big scratch on the living room table!
