Have you had any issues using the mod? I have talked to an ASE certified mechanic on this topic. Two schools of thought...... He said that this mod introduces THREE U-Joints into the shaft. Said two U-joints were fine, but a third could potential cause binding and that could lock up the entire steering shaft and cause a catastrophic accident ....advised looking for a repair kit or replacing with the same part which is probably not a permanent solution :(

The original rag joint that is replaced IS a form of universal joint so the number of joints is not changed.

Will this work on a 97 c/k 2500? :) If not, what will? thanks man!

I don't know about c/k's but on s10's this swap can't be done on 95+ models. I have a 94 s10 that has a bolt joining the two half's of the steering shaft but my 00 s10 doesn't, this mod will work on my 94 but not my 00. If your truck has the same center bolt as my 94 then it shouldn't be a problem. I plan to get a u joint off ebay for $32 that has 3/4" 30 spline and 3/4 DD to go into place of the old rag joint on my 00 s10.

Did you have to remove the transmission to do it? Also what reason did you have to change the steering rack?

Dodge charger issue... what is it?

I get a hard vibration when I hit 45-50 mph then it lightens up after 50. I've balanced wheels, straighten out rims, changed out one bad caliper and brakes.

My car vibrated when i hit 40. I noticed the flex disk on the driveshaft were torn. I replaced them and they were damaged again. This time i tested the driveshaft which was the problem. I had to replace the driveshaft since those driveshaft can't be balanced.
