GAAAA I was literally a block away, but had plans, and with friends who
would be more into Steve Miller than anything even remotely resembling
Sonic Youth. Thanks for posting.

That's from their garage inc. tour, 5 shows total across the US and Canada, saw them twice that year on their regular tour and this tour in Toronto they played all covers like the album and had a Metallica cover band open for them, it was pretty awesome to see them play in a 2,800 capacity club.
I saw them on their Toronto stop (2,800 person club) Kirk played sitting down the whole time cuz he had his appendix removed, and Lars was on fire, to this day he's a very energetic performer. Great show, James' daughter was side stage in mom's arms with earmuffs, was super cool to see.
+3801Catcher Yeah, Newsted has nowhere the skill of Rob--but he's a good match for Metallica. Lars could be replaced with a much better drummer--but it wouldn't be the same. They fucked up.
+Hicham What I don't miss about Jason is him absolutely butchering the beginning of For Who The Bell Tolls. I cant even listen to old recordings of that shit.
Will give you that, but recently revisiting live footage of Metallica from the Newsted days - he brought a charisma to the band. He was great. I was super keen to see him and Newsted in 2014 with their Soundwave appearance in Australia (along with Megadeth) but that didn't eventuate...I have a lot of respect for Jason as a musician as he is very highly trained in the theory and practical sides of music and also the production side too. But I still see Trujillo as the better player. What really made my world rock was seeing both Trujillo and Newsted on stage together during the induction into the hall of fame...kind of wish Mustaine was inducted too as he did have a lot to do in the early days of Alcohollica cough cough Metallica hehe
+Adrian Gardose Newsted is nowhere near as good a bass player as Trujillo I have to say. Robert plays with his fingers, and can play the SIMPLEST riff such as Orion without screwing it up...
