Refresh the webpage..and try again to download, u may have to hit the download button couple of times. If it still not works den give ur device a reboot and try it will surely work.

I have a solution for u guys, but i think ur gonna have to delete everything or back up ur idevice before doing anything. What you need: iOS 4.0 restore IPSW First, hold shift and then hit restore, and find the IPSW file you downloaded, and ur device shld restore to the 4.0 thats it. If u want multitask or wallpapers, download Redsnow 0.9.5 (sumthin like that) and after u restored it to 4.0 open redsnow and click browse and look for the same IPSW file, and it shld guide u through. @stepbystep101 i have updated my iphone 3g and it came up with some error and the phone will not turn on i took it to apple and they said it was a problem wi the phone so i jailbroke it to get the phone working again but idont want a jailbroken phone what can i do to get my phone back to just original format when i first bought the phone i cant restore it because it comes up with that error

Don't do it!!! lost all my contacts, ran super slow, shuts off randomly, apps just won't start sometimes. Apple recommends updating your OS but they didn't do enough testing to notice that 3G phones can't handle that 4.0. All you get is folders and that's not worth the hassle of what it does to the performance of your phone.

really? i also have the iPhone 3G and my cousin told me the update only takes about 30-45 minutes. So to pass time, I watched some tv. When I came back to my laptop there was a single line of green so I left it backing up at midnight and fell asleep. When I woke up, it still hasn't been done. /:

iPhone 2G's and 3G's are not fully compatible with IOS 4.0. Version 3.1.3 is the last fully compatible software with the two iPhones. The 3GS, 4G and the 4S are fully compatible with all the firmwares released by Apple!

i've updated my iphone and not its stuck on the connect the iphone to itunes page. it just turns me to emergency call! please help i cant do anything. when i hook it up nothing happens :/

yeah i got a iphone 3g on 3.1.2 firmware 05.11.07 and i tried to update it to 4.0.1 and it got stuked on backing it up?any suggestions let me kno please.

Restore it, then do it again. When it is done, click restore from backup, and click ur current settings. It should be good then. If not, message me

I updated my 3G to Version 4 it did work but, I didnt get multitasking and da wallpaper in da background I nid help installing both those!

Just reset or restore. Try again, or wait for apple to release a fix or something. U can always live with 3.1.3
