This particular version was released off Interstate 8, but it is a demo version from Live in Sunburst Montana. Which is misleading because it was actually recorded in Isaac's garage. In my opinion is this my favorite version.

Hey no I live near Tacoma, Washington about an hour south of Seattle Washington. I was just in Hood River area last spring and frequently go to and through Portland! Love Oregon very much. Troutdale/Portland, Oregon. It's called "Oregon's Historical Highway," right off of highway 84 about 20 to 30 minutes from Portland. I'm pretty lucky to have grown up in hood river.....It's funny; I spent the first 15 years of my life trying to escape small town hood river and have spent the last 10 years of my life just trying go back...... this song IS about a friend who killed himself, its about "carrying them on" and they should "move on or be stuck in rewind" and that its just how it is and that its happened and nothing can change it, it is only in part about Isaac Brooke's interesting and skeptical take on religion. some may argue that the ocean means something, this meaning is simple: all life can be traced back to water or the ocean. it is under no circumstances about drugs, modest mouse isnt really that type of band.
