TWO GIRLS WITH A MAJOR GAS PROBLEM
We were in LA for the Streamy Awards and before we could return our rental car we had to fill up the tank. Watch our first complete failure here: ...
get metal. if you get a strong enough winch/cable you dont have to worry
about breaking. just be smart. who the hell wants to worry about washing a
rope and worrying about the sun hurting it. also out on the ranch to pull
trees i dont want synthetic rubbing on the group getting torn up. idk why
they are pushing for synthetic. 20lbs weight saving? woopty doo
+Hoang Thuy Linh Good on ya!... hours and hours and hours of washing each and every inch of the useless 'expensive' fucking shit!. You got conned didn't ya'!!!
After all the nice "mathematical facts" of synthetic VS steel rope aside,
this video is very flawed. It shows people driving and winching
simultaneously when using the magical synthetic rope which is "1.5 x times
stronger then steel" BUT the bloke never seems to notice it. No matter what
type of rope your winch is fitted with, when you are winching and driving
and the truck kicks back from no tension back to full tension, the tension
on the winch and/or rope can be up to 5 times more then the safe working
load. STOP talking safety before you know all the facts, this video is a
good example of marketing without knowledge. Would you trust this guy?
I really wish people would learn about elastic forces and tension on materials. I've seen synthetic rope snap back with considerable force. And even in a few of the clips they have in the video, you can see synthetic ropes snapping back with considerable force.
+Zachary Radestock yeah it has to be cleaned a lot and the sun is bad for it as well. We are getting into our wheeling season here and I will be putting up more video's on my channel you are welcome to hang out!
I wish so bad that I lived in America and could go offroading (as us Brits call it), in the vast countryside you've got! We have way too many miserable buggers over here who are against it. Went a bit off topic there... And I have I agree with you! Althought the rope has better tensile strength it certainly doesn't have the resistance cable does too rubbing on trees and rocks. I have rope on my winch and although its super easy to unreel now, it's already getting frayed - and it's a pain in the arse to clean!
+Zachary Radestock sorry was in a hurry to get going this morning. The nope was for me going to rope over wire. I have been wheeling for a very long time and when it is my truck hanging off the side of a mountain in the snow ect I will never trust rope to hold a 8000lb truck.
Not sure which part of my comment your 'nope' was aimed at. And I can also think of reasons why rope wouldn't be used on cranes and or recovery trucks.
Because it's tensile strength is higher. And maybe because steel wire is cheaper, or it might be because they know that people will buy a rope eventually, and get a bit more money out of you.
