I read PDF manuals just as infrequently as printed manuals, but printing
uses paper, ink, probably some glue or staples, plus the electricity the
machine requires to put them all together, while a PDF just requires your
device has electricity, you have eyes to read and fingers to type. If I
wanted to find something quickly I'd prefer an electronic manual, but then
again I'd probably just Google my issue. A link to the manual might even be
one of the top results so there you go.
Both. I should not need to go online to get the manual for the first time,
and the non-techie users who are most in need of manuals may not have the
knowledge to or capability to go looking online. Online manuals should be
an option, so you can retrieve lost paper manuals, get updated manuals but
not something you are forced into. Paper Manuals work when your computer
does not.
It depends on the product. For any type of game, I have to say print. For
just about everything else, pdf is fine. But, I'd prefer to have both. I
keep all of my print manuals and original boxes to things I purchase.
I just download the PDF versions and keep them in my Dropbox folder. This
way I always have the manual available. I usually don't download them until
I need them though, which isn't very often.
I keep my manuals, but I only read them while my game is loading, so if its
for a simple thing that doesn't require loading like a monitor or
something, then I wont read it.
pdf is allot nicer and easier to use nowadays, you can just load them up on
your tablet, and you will have the same portability as a real manual would
have.
