THIS REVIEW IS ALL WRONG!! You can't compare the Nokia Lumia 1020 PRO CAM (Nokie Camera App) software against a STOCK Apple iPhone 5s camera software. Of course the speed test will always be in favor of STOCK software. You should have used the regular CAMERA app, which is STOCK, faster, auto adjustments. The PRO CAM is not built or meant to be a speedy App, but take semi-professional photos, unlike 99% of the other smartphones. So, this is a busted review.

Megapixels mean quite a bit. The quality of the lens and sensor play much bigger roles in the overall picture quality, but that doesn't mean an 8mp photo is going to have the same amount of detail and clarity as a 41mp photo.

yeah but you forgot lumia 1020 has the biggest sensor size (1/1.5'') of all phone besides lumia 808 (1/1/2") sensor size.. dont you?

agree with you. i think camera quality makes lens, also laser do job in low light. Since iphone 4 came out, here is no huge improvment in smartphone cameras, except Galaxy S4 Zoom which have optical zoom 10x. S4 Zoom is the best camera smartphone, but not the best at all.

I think apart from the Camara on the 1020, its obvious what people are buying and its not the 1020. I'm biased I know. because I haver an iPhone and that is preference. I definitely will get the 5S I currently use a 4S right now and its laggy as fuck with IOS 7.0.4.

True. I also wish the same. It is not slow by any means within OS but gaming would have been great on S800. So next year we would get next camera flagship from Nokia with better processor. Only problem was that windows OS was not able to support quad core CPUs

But you didn't noticed that every website Lumia opens was mobile website on desktop :-) You noticed only half part because I changed it to mobile before starting the test and this is why each time it opened the mobile site. We all know that how mobile site looks like.

ROFL I'm using an iPad Air here and the Camera Quality is Perfect! The iPhone 6 has an 8 megapixel camera when Samsung only has a 2 Megapixel camera!

si celo pure io il 1020 mi scusi se o risposto un po scortese ma il fatto e che ogni volta che mi guardo un video danno sempre lil merito ad iphone e non lo sopporto che poi se sbaglio mi correga lai iphone dal 4s al 6 a sempre la stesso uguale fotocamera a 8mp non ci sono per me differenze per questo non lo sopporto la ringrazio per avermi risposto

Dal 4s al 6 non è proprio la stessa fotocamera, pur avido sempre 8MP la tecnologia e il sensore sono cambiati di molto.In questo video ci sono le immagini che parlano, io ho solo commentato i risultati. Grazie a te per i commenti XD

Blows it out of the water? I don't think so. I'll say the 1020 pictures do look better in the videos I've seen. The Iphone has a very nice capable camera. The 1020 doesn't blow it out of the water though. They both produce good photos. Speed is another story and is more important to me when I want to take a quick photo. That's my reason for saying Iphone is better in everyday general photo snapping. Since camera phone quality are both good (still not something a would use for real pictures-DSLR)

I have the 1020 right now. I've gone 2 full days with out charging my phone on medium usage. Over the course of one day, I'll make 2-4 phone calls of about 5 minutes, send about 50-100 texts, use twitter, facebook, and instagram. I also have 3 emails syncing and browse the web. The only thing I'd have to say about the battery is when you use the camera, the Xenon flash, because it is so powerful, drains the battery quickly if you're taking 25+ pictures in a short amount of time. Go try one out

Fan boy...ok. Whenever someone likes a particular hardware they are now called fanboys. So I guess you have both phones and compared yourself? Yeah did not think so. Do some homework first! Read my comments carefully. Iphone 5s=faster, better quick shots, 1020 is a great camera when using the settings. I have a DSLR for these settings to make awesome pictures when I need them. I do not need to mess with these settings for 95% of my camera phone pictures. Even if they were available I would use auto since it generally takes good pics not great pictures like my DSLR. Auto on Iphone is just quicker, easier to take, with photo burst it helps with taking a great pic. So I am just saying its easier to take a good photo with Iphone and the software and overall phone is easier/quicker to use.

Ok who is going to mess with all those options when you take a photo? Imagine you want to take a pic of whatever do you go ok lets put the white balance here and the aperture here and so on? No you just want to snap the camera! The lumia takes forever to snap a pic and then look at it. Iphone just takes a good pic and thats it. I have a DSLR for vacation or real photos. Otherwise I use a camera phone for point and shoot. So the quicker the better. Iphone wins!

I don't understand why you think you need to play with the settings. You keep saying it like it's required. Most people will use auto. And, like I said, the auto on the 1020 is better, so I just don't see your point. Yes, the pictures are similar. The 1020 still looks better, but you have to remember the biggest differentiator: the resolution. The detail in the pictures is amazing for a camera phone. The 1020 replaces point and shoots, the iPhone does not.

to be honest most phones in this day in age great pictures if you have a 8 or 13 megapixel camera you are ahead of the game, because you can upload them and they look great, or you blow them up and print them out and there passable..not the htc one if you take a picture and upload them to social sites they look great, but put em on your PC and try to blow them up an print them out and they look terrible..4 Megapixels is 4 Megapixels

There is a reason why Apple improved the 5S camera only a "bit" it's not like they couldn't make it better than the Lumia it's just why spend millions of dollars on a camera to be the best out there when the people still buy the 5S with a cheaper camera!? and even tho the Lumia has a way better camera Apple still outsells the Lumia big time. I know only maybe 2 people who has a Lumia and I know 10 people who has an iPhone.

True tone my ass lol 1020 with flash is way better than iphone 1020 is way better than iphone 5S. I was really looking forward for this video since they claimed iphone 5S camera as the best camera in the market. Well not that it entirely sucks but this is just bad. Either way i was right. The true tone flash is just a marketing mimic. Well at least for what i saw on this video.

Why spend all that money to be the "best" when customers are happy enough with lower Specs on an Apple product!? That is the Apple strategy no matter what the specs on an Apple product is people will still spend more money on them, rather than a Lumia witch has a way better camera and its way cheaper. lumia 1020 maybe is not the strongest all around smartphone but i would rather buy the lumia 1020 over an android or iphone just for the camera alone. it still got its smartphone functions such as call, sms, internet, media player, etc. i think i can live with WP os, just sayin'. =-)

It is funny to see that iSheep are saying the 5s camera and images are better than the 1020. LEDs cannot trump a Xenon flash. Apple uses a lot of misdirection to sell products. But the 1020, uses pioneered tech for capture and processing.

@MarkMullins the 1020 had many stock camera apps. The one he was showing was the Pro Cam app. The stock camera app is the same simplicity as the iPhones camera app. And it still blows it out of the water
