I love MIME products they are excellently made and normally always recommend them over Spigen but in this case I would have to say Spigen's privacy glass is much better due to better clarity.

would you recommend tempered glass screen protectors for the price? one is like 30$ , while film screen protectors are 10$ for 3. would you recommend it?

If you are going to keep the device for an extended amount of time I always recommend tempered glass over regular static cling screen protectors. Even for the increased price you are definitely getting what you pay for. Try checking into MIME's they are a little bit cheaper than most. If you want to get an even cheaper route i-bason makes some on Amazon.

How recessed does the cut out hole for the home button feel? I know if you have a regular tempered glass screen protector (.4 mm and thicker), you can definitely feel the deep hole on the home button on the 5s because of touch ID. How much thinner would you say this protector is around the home button, do you feel any difference say compared to the iloome flex glass?

Yes, it's a bit thinner and with the rounded edges you can barely tell anything is there.
