I am having trouble keeping the Tablet charged. what's your cure for that?
I wish there's a way to mod the tablet to startup just like a car receiver
and use the car power to run it.
awesome let me know when you find anything. I've researched direct power and can't seem to get the "direct" to work without burning up a tablet (mathematically)
you wired the accessory straight to the the 12v cord? I have a 12 v cord I
cut that is in my mini amp but I don't know exactly how to power it. Do I
need to ground it to?
+K/SS JOATMON maybe something like this? hopefully it only turns the amp on when I start the car. //m.ebay.com/itm/271180580814?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20141212152715&meid=402df80b8f6046eea313c8c2668a86d2&pid=100338&rk=3&rkt=30&mehot=pp&sd=271002535625&_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_mwBanner=1
+Nicole Hall if you are using power from amp you need this: //www.amazon.com/DROK-Electrical-Converter-Transformer-Step-down/dp/B00CP1LQLY/ref=pd_sim_23_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1VG65WM8ADM41SD8623Wonly problem i see is the tablet will be charging even if the car is off, i don't know but maybe try the remote wire from the amp/radio?
Only morons bitch to people who post videos for FREE using their time to try and be helpful.

I'm from and currently live in the DC area. I see that your from the DC
area as well. Are you still in the area? Do you install tablets on other
people's vehicles? Do you know of any shops in the DC area that are able
to install tablets into vehicles?
Thanks for the help. Btw...I know the vid is two years old...but it looks
GREAT!!
+Jarvis Robinson I am no longer on that area and do not install in other vehicles. This is just a project for my car. Check out MP3Car.com and in the forum there are many from that area. Plus there are some good worklogs including mine that describe the project progress.
+Rene Valdez No double jeopardy. My new tablet does not have service. I just connect to wifi in my car. At the moment I am using a Mifi device but that is temporary. I will be getting onboard wifi hotspot in the near future. At times I may connect it to my phone's hotspot but I rarely do that to conserve the battery charge on my phone.
In this installation my tablet had cellular service. In my new installation I went a different route where the tablet is just wifi and it connects to the hotspot I have in my car.

F-150 Android Tablet Car Radio
Android tablet mounted as main frontend head unit in my truck. work in progress more videos coming soon.
Question for you my good man and I apologize if I missed it. Phone
capabilities....you're able to use the phone through your tablet? And when
you're on the road, you just connect to your phone's hotspot for the wifi
and all that good stuff?
Thanks in advance man. Damn good job by the way.
the tablet is on my mobile plan, so it has 4G no need for hotspot. as for phone, the tablet and my phone are LG so i can use QPair to tether then to receive texts and phone calls on the tablet. but the sound quality is not very good. lots of truck noise, and echo because of it being hooked up to aux. there is also an app that can be used to send/receive calls called Groove IP that you set up call forwarding with.

I have installed a Samsung galaxy tablet into my RAV4 and used it as my
main car stereo and navigator. when the engine is on i have to reopen music
apps etc. i recently found an app on Google Play that as soon as you unplug
the charger it automatically pause all media and navigation apps and when
you turn on the engine the tablet goes on again without pressing the power
button. so, GPS is on again and music continues exactly where you had left
it It is called Autosleeper Auto power ON-OFF and i found it at Google
Play, here,s the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.as.powerchecker. Is there
anyone who has used it? I am quite happy but i'd like some feedback for
this app or alternatives..
