He likes his bottle, but he is messy. I had to bottle feed these puppies because mama did not have enought milk for all of the little piggies....lol....
Lilly Blossom drinking from the miracle sponge April 6, 2013
Breeders sometimes are faced with a puppy that is not feeding properly because the mom has little milk or the siblings are pushing the weaker one away.
+alexis bunce Actually all newborn Yorkie babies drink in various positions from the mom. On their backs and on their sides is common. Never had a food processing problem and we have been doing this for over 30 years. Do you have a link to a specific technical briefing on the subject. We are very interested in learning new facts.
Very informative video! ...Just wondering, is there not the chance that
bits of the sponge could break off into their throat? Or is the sponge too
dense for that? Also, was not aware that they should be stimulated to pee
BEFORE their feeding too, I thought only after - it's good you covered all
areas that I'm sure a lot of people didn't know about. Great nanny, lots
of love!
+Wolf Howl 56 The sponge is indeed very dense and that will make it resistant. We have not had any problem or heard of anyone who found bits of sponge falling off. We do dispose of the sponge after every feeding to avoid any potential contamination.
Thank you SO much, you're a godsend! You are so fun, and easy to listen to,
very clear and consise. We breed micro tinies, and my family will praise
your name forever.
You're doing a wonderful job feeding this puppy, but unfortunately i found
one thing very wrong. The sponge is a poison. Many many people get sick
just sleeping on sponges and even get allergic to beds with sponge in them
(i'm one of those people.) Just breathing in the fumes enough to get sick,
but suckling all the harmful chemicals from it? I'm sure you didn't know
about this, but please research. There are lots of information on Google
about the harmful effect of these chemicals. It's a shame, because it
really simplyfies the feeding process. Other than that you're doing a
beautiful job for this little puppy. Bless ya!
+Claude Bisson The sad truth is, that anything made out of chemicals is highly toxic whether you feel the immediate effect or it might take a long time. Some people are more sensitive to certain chemicals than others, but even the ones don't "react" to it, they're being affected without them knowing about it. What is even worse, that you can't even trust "natural" sponge or any other stuff anymore because everything that used to be safe is contaminated with chemicals and/or toxins.... As we all try to improve our lives we also pay a very high price for it... I think a clean cotton rag should be the safest for feeding the puppy, but it's more of a hassle than using the sponge.... You're doing a wonderful job taking care of that adorable puppy anyway...
+Monica Listodos As far as we know, Latex free sponges are not poisonous. Sea sponges can be since they absorb harmful poisons from the sea bed. We have not seen any research indicating that latex free sponges are poisonous. In any case it would likely have to be ingested by the nursing puppy which is not the case. You could try a clean cotton rag and soak it in the milk which might help in a pinch. Please send us the link showing where latex free sponges are poisonous. We would like to review this claim.
How To Tube Feed A Puppy
Dr. Larry and Karen Bernstein demonstrate the procedure for tube feeding a young puppy (who is now 2 years old in June 2006 - This video is from June 2004) ...
I have a 2 day old 4oz Dachshund puppy that I'm tube feeding. Because her
mom had to have a cesarean and the vet suggested spaying. Because her
first litter was a single puppy and this litter a year later, 1 live puppy,
and 1 mummified puppy. Her milk production is low even with oxytocin, so
without tube feeding I would be watching her new puppy die. Thank you for
showing how easily this is done!!
Any major medical supply, small pups you need a smaller rounded Catheter/tube feeding catheter and a 2-6 CC syringe, always get advice from a Vet PLEASE...do not go and do this without consulting a vet..it costs money but in the end it is the best thing for the pup
