Any chance the app could be made so that the 'X' which allows you to exit out of the fireplace video, will fade away after 10 seconds or so? It could appear again when you tap on the screen. The problem right now is that if I choose to use the full screen the 'X' is visible over the flames and kind of breaks the realism.

I found a little bug in Android 4.2.. When you open the recent app manager, swipe out (close) a couple of apps and then change the orientation of the phone, all the apps are back on the list.. About the lag, will it improve in another browser. Chrome is slow and laggy on any device i have tested (android). Is there lag elsewhere as well?

+Elias Lugo Depending on what your needs are it can go either way.  Not having a keyboard dock can be a deal breaker to some and until the N10 comes out with one (if any) It's a tough call.

+Jamaar DeBoise I have to disagree with you. The iPad is not a good laptop replacement. Its a good netbook replacement if all you need it for is media consumption but it lacks the hardware needed to be a true laptop replacement.

+Pedro Tentugal if you are looking for a productivity tablet then iPad. If your looking for media consumption nothing beats a N7. I wouldn't do a N10 due to lack of optimized apps for 10inch android devices.

I had the same issue with the back cover feeling "cheap" and not firmly on with my Galaxy Nexus. I got over it though. Not that big of a deal. I have a case on most of the time anyway. I'm constantly watching the Nexus 4 on the T-Mobile site waiting for a sale or till it's free with an upgrade like they did my old MyTouch 4G when it was damn new. Haha

I also have the question about n7 vs n10 since I'm a mix between being home and on the go. I was really inclined with n10 since I usually use a backpack with my laptop. I also have the s2 which gives me portability already. What do you guys think?

+John Cheatdom no problem, if you want a device that's great for Web consumption the Nexus 7 with its power and form factor can't be beat. If your looking for a laptop replacement then the Apple iPad is for you. Apple's app market for 10inch tablets far outshines Android currently. But nothing beats the play stores plethora of utility apps and Web consumption apps. Glad we could help you.

I have an iPad for my 10inch device. But ever since I brought a nexus 7 its been my daily driver. I don't even use my iPad anymore. The form factor just can't be beat for comfort and ease of use.

+John Cheatdom I have both size tablets...I can honestly say that I use my n7 more due to its size and ease of portability. If you're at home all the time, a 10 inch tablet is golden....if you're out and on the run and you want something that'll fit in your pocket, i'd recommend the n7..That's just my personal preference though ;)

I like the nexus 10 and all, but I'm good with a nexus 7. The seven inch form factor is perfect for me. When are the nexus 7 sequel rumors going to start?

+Armando Ferreira I think it's more a samsung thing, for instance on my s3 the volume is on the left and the power button is on the right. 

+Ard van Breemen The volume button is an issue, specially when you compare it to all of the other tablets out there INCLUDING the Nexus 7 which follows the traditional method of being on the right and Up is up and down is down.  How is it that the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 work differently?  If your trying to build a premium brand lineup these little things cannot be overlooked.  This is where Apple does a great job to keep everything consistent and allowing the customer to have a great user experience.It's annoying that on My Nexus 7 I have to remember the volume is one way and then on my Nexus 10 it's the opposite.  I could understand if it were a different tablet but this is the Nexus lineup.I don't have a problem with a tablet or phone being made of plastic, even in my review I said I was impressed by it.  However, the build quality is a different story.  That's like me saying a plastic cup feels good in the hands, and the material made is awesome.  However, it's still feels disposable and that's how the Nexus 10 feels to me.  

Hmmm, I really don't understand the volume button issue. The button on the left side is to lower, the button on the right side is to increase the volume, or better: the counter-clock-wise is lower, the clock-wise is up. I've seen volume buttons on the left side (HTC, samsung), and on the top (rockchip based tablet). Then again, it is android, so if a developer is as annoyed as you are, you get the keys how you want them ;-).About that plastic, as people seem to be very confused today: good plastic is much more expensive than aluminum. Especially if it is carbon fibre based. So I am more impressed if something is made of plastics tham aluminum, especially if the plastic is very good (like those used in the samsung galaxy lines).I also noticed that plastic behaves different than we expect. We expect strong things to be very sturdy. Guess again, but you can make hollow carbon fibre based frameworks that are much more sturdy than some metals. Elasticity is also a kind of strength, that most metals don't have, because they usually end up in fatigue.So depending on the framework (interior or exterior), the back cover should be sturdy to give strength, or elastic just to give protection to the circuits.In any case it should not make poppy noises :-).If my bike (glass fibre based aerodynamic trike) makes poppy noises (you can really push into it, it's not sturdy, but sturdy enough to be a monocoque), I cringe.On the other hand: nice review. If the camera in the ipad2 is as good as the one in the nexus 10, it explains why I sometimes see people taking the ipad2 with them to make photographs...

My nexus 4 is defective as well it doesen't charge. If somebady has this problem let me know. First charge was ok afterwards nothing! Hope i can send it back tomorrow

+Armando Ferreira I totally agree with you on the lag called by the display. I don't think Android is well optimized for HD tablet displays. Case and point the Transformer Infinity had the best display until the N10 came out and many apps run poorly. I do believe this is software issue though. I'm running a custom ROM that has drastically improved performance.

I've seen you do some great reviews +Armando Ferreira and I'm really taking them into consideration for when I purchase my own tablet. What I'd and I'm sure several others would like to see would be a review on one of those cheep like $79 tablets you find on sites like Walmart or in the store at Hastings because there's several people who can't even really afford the $200 tablets but would love to have an affordable one with Android 4.0

+Dino Rodriguez I will recommend the Nexus 7, because imo it has the perfect size, holding in one hand! O:-) I don't have the 10" Nexus, but I have a 10,1" Samsung tablet, and I never use it anymore since I got my precious 7". :-D It's a truly awesome tablet which I will highly recommend..

I have a theory about the front camera placement, and it is only a theory not having used one.  When you are using the tablet in portrait mode, most people turn their device anti clockwise.  As most people are right handed so naturally hold it with their left hand, i think it was placed to the right (or up if portrait) so you thumb doesn't cover the camera if your on say, a hangout.  Just my two cents.

I have decided to pass on the Nexus 10. It is good tablet but I feel more Android apps needs to be optimised for the tablet's screen. I still can't decide between the Nexus 10, Mircosoft Surface or the iPad still.

Thanks guys, I've been getting messages and it seems that it's 50/50 on the squeaky back, some people have it some don't.  Can it be a batch that is defective? I will be contacting #google  about this and see if the new tablet I get does this.  In the meantime I'm loving this thing and I can honestly say it's the best Android tablet available.

That noise in the back is probably because the back is somewhat thin, and doesn't press up directly against whatever's inside (ie. battery). It receives the most flex at that point. If they placed a piece of dense foam inside at the middle point to reinforce it, I bet it wouldn't be an issue anymore.

Samsung should improve the volume buttons issue. I own an Acer tablet running Android and no matter how you hold the tablet the up button increases the volume and viceversa.. Flip it 180 degrees and the tablet knows where is the new Up and down... Samsung you can definitely do something similar. However I do wanna own this device.. Samsung/Google take my money

BTW - While stock Android KitKat is alright; I HIGHLY recommend getting a custom ROM like Cyanogenmod. Honestly, it's amazing and the customization options that it offers is outstanding. Like what I just showed you; it has feature BUILT-IN that allows you to fully hide the Navbar and Status Bar.Look into it when you get the chance.

The Main App of this video - "PieControl" doesn't need root; but it needs the permissions that root offers for the "Back" key functionality. Other than that, PieControl doesn't need root.UDN (Ultimate Dynamic Navbar) however; DOES NEED ROOT. You can't use the app to hide your default navbar if you don't have root.

man you got a point but there is something really tiny you forgot about...i can write whatever specs i want on my device e.g chinese pads for 10 bucks and having 32 gigs of storage with huge ram and processors but just for the record i just gave away my galaxy tab for an ipad and that is for simply the ipad battery lasts for 10 hours working and 1 month standby !! while this shitty samsung tab lasted only for 2 hours max..another thing apple apps looks much prettier than shitty android apps.

@mrslavik86 and for someone who owns both deices you don't seem to know a lot about android: -apps are shared between both appstore and playstore -thanks to android (unlike apple) being an open source project, you can pretty much connect and do anything within the specification limits which means there are undoubtedly more accesorys for android than there are grey matter cells in your thick skull, why don't you leave the trolling to someone who knows how to count to ten okay? Yeah, back down.

ROM & kernel just run the shit. You still don't get it. With the iphone you can tether to the ipad a well. You don't have the world most advance operation mobile system. Your tab cant play music to a wireless airpot express turning your touch screen in to a wireless stereo throw out your house. Apps can play to the airport express as well. You get so much free value with the ipad. Android is for the poor man that cant let go of open source. apple is closed for safety and reliability.

Android tablets can do all, if not, then most things iOS can do. One simply needs to write the application. I love android, almost got a droid tablet, but instead got an iPad 2. Never had a problem with it. I will admit there are many things that i would like to see in the iPad 2 that I have on my droid phone. However I know that I'm buying a product will work. Ipad offers way more. Itunes, app store, wireless music streaming on airport express. Comes with the best costumer service. Long lasting sexy design. Its hot! Many IOS updated the keep consumers happy. Android tabs only get a few updates then they drop the product on to the next. Apple is also a billion dollar corp worth more than Microsoft. Android is cool, but not smart. iPhone users have more sex also lol.

@brianhenderson76 According to an estimate from Deutsche Bank Motorola has only sold 100,000 Xooms thus far... For some context, Apple sold over 20 million at this point... and motorola stop selling that was it apple is going to go on for at least 40 million... all the other tablets are selling the same as the motorola.. ALL tablets together cant make the sales of the iPad sorry look it up...

@Brianexe43 ... not really. I have owned and operated many Android based tablets. The Viewsonic G-Tablet is far from perfect. I still believe this is the most customizable and hackable one on the market. We WILL have honeycomb at some point. For the money I paid ,$265 use, it is a tremendous value. Dollar for Dollar the OG Tablet beats out the IPAD!

Crappy products, Crappy interface, Bad battery life and of course you pay less, when you are copying from a OS that took years of research and development. But hey, if you want to settle for a plastic device that does lots of things half as good for half the price... btw where is the iPad your comparing it with. What a waste of time.

@showerladdy Yes, the gtab is for a poor man like me. But you know what, it hurts a heck of a lot less if something happens to my gtab or when it becomes outdated. With the fast pace that technology is moving, I don't want to spend anymore than $300 on something like a tablet.

@TheJasperki Number of devices sold says nothing about the software. If you had some OS that was better than either IOS or Android, but only sold 1,000 devices with "that OS" installed, it doesn't mean it sucks (The OS), it just didn't sell well. Marketing is a tricky game.

The iPad holds it values much than better than your Viewsonic. I would argue owning an iPad is cheaper than your tablet. A $500 iPad 2 is still worth over $400 9 months later. Your Viewsonic has no market, therefore minimal resale value.

@showerladdy I clearly state I am using a custom ROM & kernel in every video. The stock out of the box GTAB sucks. The fact we can change that is what makes this a better tablet. Your ipad will never change. I feel sad for you.

I can do all that with my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 (jail broken no paying Verizon) and had a android tab it sucked and I use "log me in" to use my Mac on iPad and iPhone and iPad jail broken can run android apps
