The usage of the term was copied from when [black] American gang related movies became "cool" among the youth in Ghana. So hood is a borrowed term [which ever way u want to look at it] and it's used out of ignorance by Ghanaian youth who are trying to be cool and sound Americanized.. I am a youth myself but b4 moving to the U.S. i spent part of my childhood in some of these places namely North Kaneshie, etc..i know the place well and i will get offended when someone calls it a hood

nice video but stop using hood in ur language. North kaneshie is a very nice residential area and hood is not what u be should referring to places like that. In America where the term is originally used, hood has a negative connotation to it. Dansoman is not hood either. hoods are neighborhoods where drug dealing, murder, robbery etc is rampant and glorified. In our culture things of that nature are frowned upon.. so Ghanaians before u adopt any foreing term research it before usage

@Atlas24gh I can dig what you saying but "hood" is just short for neighborhood, would you still take offense if he said the full "neighborhoo'd instead?...there are good and bad neighborhoods or hood anywhere you go....I think the problem is people associating hood w/ the slums or ghetto instead of recognizing it for what it is...an abbreviation ...But enough of that though...Less preaching, more Azonto!!
