Been an SX owner for 18 months now, it's the main part of my setup. Had
some problems with it, but it's all working now after (reluctantly) being
repaired under warranty by Pioneer.
It's fantastic, I honestly can't say it's not BUT...here's a few gripes:
I'd like a button to be mapped to the quantize mode, or at least to save it
set to "on" as default. It's annoying to have to enable it every time I
start a set.
Serato's FX are still quite a way behind Traktor's. Surprising since
they're developed by Izotope but the truth is that they are. Only have two
single mode FX is very restricting, I'd like to see four with a switch
button, or the ability to further adjust the parameters in the multi-fx.
A very small annoyance is the sampler only using 6 of the pads at once.
Why?! There's 8 pads, and the ability to change the bank with the parameter
button so why not give us 8 sampler pads per bank?
Also a very small thing, and I assume this could be too hard to implement,
but it would be nice to be able to customise the buttons functionality
without having to use the controller in it's MIDI mode. Can it not be
customised in the native HID mode at all? That way I could utilise some of
the buttons I don't use to function in a way I'd like them to.
+George Munoz No worries man. I've seen a lot of people ask about it. It's not really a feature that comes into play unless you're switching between 4 decks (a very handy feature though).
+George Munoz Those are only used when you're switching between decks 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 to indicate an offset between the pitch value and the physical position of the pitch fader.
I have a ddj-sx and I love it. I've seen pictures where the TAKEOVER INDICATORS (the little triagle lights up & down by the pitch control) are lit up. how do you do that?
Pioneer DDJ-SX Digital DJ Controller & Serato DJ Review Video
//www.djbooth.net/index/dj-equipment/review/pioneer-ddj-sx-serato-dj //www.twitter.com/djblaze_djbooth The Pioneer DDJ-SX Digital DJ controller is ...
+kynlin flagg If you are on a Windows machine, make sure you have your drivers setup correctly and you download the latest driver from the Pioneer DJ website. then restart Serato DJ and the DDJ-SX should be recognized when connected via USB. Make sure you have the power connected and also try another USB port on the computer to see if it helps.
So hard decision, should i buy traktor s8 or DDJ SX2 or numark NS7 ii. I
have CDJ2000 ja djm mixer but i dont want everytime take those to smaller
gigs so thats why i looking for controllers. so what you would recommend?
Does that numark ns7ii work with CDJ ? Genre what i play is
Trance,EDM,House
+FITMEgaming No, the sampler on the NS7 can't do anywhere near the stuff the remix decks can do... It's a big difference, but most people don't use Remix Decks to DJ with...
Yeah thats the problem i love all those features. I love those ns7 moving platters and i love S8 remix deck stuff :D But ns7 has sampler too if im right? does it work close to what S8 can do?
This is easy! Get the NS7 II if you like the feel of real vinyl turntables... Get the DDJ-SX2 or SZ if you want something as close as possible to your CDJ-2000 and DJM mixer... OR get the Traktor S8 if you want to use Traktor Remix Decks to DJ with...
Kareem.. One more question do you need an amplifier if you connect it to a
speaker? Like if you just want a small party speaker? And what would you
recommend the size of speaker and make that is good quality sounds? Thank
you for the reply again more power sir...
If the speakers are powered, then you don't need an amp, but if they are non powered, then you need an amp. It doesn't matter what size you get as long as they play good for you. You only need bigger speakers for if you are playing a party.
Pioneer DDJ SX Scratch Practice
I got this great unit yesterday! Mostly for mixing purposes, but it holds up pretty well for scratching! I'm just scratching the surface of this unit (pun intended) and I ...
hi, what laptop do you have and if its a mac what are you running? Cause my
mac is older and just wondering if that makes a difference why I cant
scratch? Cheers
+DJ土竜 Scratching on vinyl is far better than any controller but you should be able to scratch like this video without DVS upgrade. try some new scratch samples.
+DJFITME He's definitely not using the transform effect. The transform effect wouldn't allow for him to drop the full "fresh" sample as he does, and it also isn't being adjusted so the cuts would only be synced to one setting, and he's clearly not just cutting in 1/8th beats, or anything, only.Secondly, you'd notice that hit channel 1 fader IS set to the position on the crossfader, so the x-fader is active.Thirdly, I only just noticed this, the effect might be set 'on', but it's not assigned to any channel at all.It did cross my mind when I first noticed it, but no he's most definitely not relying on the transform effect, 100%.
+DJFITME I can't remember why they were on, but if you look at the FX Assign buttons over the 2 channels, they are not lit up. So the FX were probably on, but no channels were going to them, so there was no effect. The only reason I bought the DDJ is because it's something I can scratch on, because I love to scratch.
Why effect is on then(deck what you scratch first effect light is bright and effect volume up)? Just want to know you did it right way because that was very good scratching
hi - i cant get the scratching sound and I have setup exactly the way you
showed it? I have an older laptop...could it be that? What current mac OS
are you running on? Cheers
Hi Mitchy, Are you saying you don't have the same sound for scratching? If that's the case, the sound that you hear him scratching in this video is an audio file just like any other audio file/song you might have & play.. If you want to scratch you will need the proper sounds to practice with. The sounds aren't on the controller... There are many places you can search & get sounds to scratch. Do a google search.. Hope this helps. Tony
can any song be use for scratching? when i let go the jog wheel does not
sound like the one on video or do u need special samples for scratching...?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
