To study CCNA you only need the GNS3 emulator, which can be found free on
the official site and the labs which you find free as well clicking the
link in the description. If you want to practice on routers you don't have
to buy anything, all labs are available free on the above mention site. The
book covers the theory you need to know in order to pass the CCNA exam.
Hello Ivona, All books can be found as a hardcopy or PDF format. I own a
Kindle myself and you can read PDFs on it without any problems. Other
study materials are also available as videos, which you can watch on your
PC, phone, TV. Let me know if you have any more questions.
This is it, Cisco Explained ! love the way this book is written, you have a
real situation, then Bang, the same question you have in your head is the
next phrase and Finally you have a short, well explain Answer ! You can
almost read it as a Quest.
I got really close to passing CCENT. Just took it today, came out with a
775 again. Second time so far and exact same score as the first time, but
I'm willing to keep trying. I'm having most of my issues with layer 2
material and switching it seems because most of the other categories I
didn't bad at all in and I improved in the network device security part. I
felt bad today but then realized that I need to keep studying and trying
because it's worth it. I want to do a lot more practice questions as well.
I did go through all of Chris Bryant's videos before retaking the exam and
took a lot of notes, but I think I might be overstudying now.
+Jorge Almazan LAN Switching Technologies - 55%. The first time that category was around 64% and I completely bombed IP Data Networks despite making a 100% on it the first time. I improved on Network device security by over 20% since the first time that I had been my worst.Every other topic I made exactly the same on. I wanted to also aim for closer to 100% on IP addressing and wanted to do more practice there. I can do the whole subnetting table and even do some subnetting in my head but another thing is that this time I got pretty nervous when I started taking the test so I think that affected my score as well. That one remained at 67% and then the other categories were in the 70s range and one of them was a 79%.To be specific, I tend to have the most trouble with trying to look at a switch topology and things like that or questions involving commands that I hadn't even seen or used before. As I was saying, basically layer 2 topics, CAM table, MAC addresses, Ethernet, etc.
Hey Jorge, I did a search on Ebay on hundreds of equipment for a lab.
There are CCNNA with voice or security, CCNA CCNP and CCIE. My question is
where do you start with equipment lab for a beginner leading to ccnp?
Hello there. Congratulations on passing the test. I am holding a diploma in
Network Engineering and now prepare myself for CCNA. I started 1 week ago.
I was wondering how much time I need for the preparation. I find it
challenging and it takes massive amount from my time every day, which
depresses me a bit. ( I keep thinking I need to go out, I am missing my
parties and friends ;( hahaha). So how much time do you think it normally
takes for the prep. Thanks
Everyone is different. You're ready when you can explain every concept in the CCNA Blueprint. It's hard to give an exact figure. But most can accomplish a CCNA in 3 months if you put in enough time that it takes for you to understand the material.
Not sure. The exam has changed. But I imagine it's just slightly more than before.

Hi everyone I'm Josh and I'm 15. I know a decent amount of networking and
I'm taking my second year of programming at my school(Java). My mom's
friend has given me the opportunity the get a in-person CCNA prep class and
the CCNA test for free. I wouldn't start this until next summer (2016). He
also said that if I were to complete this then he would try and get me a
job within 90 days, and also said he wold try and get me some help for
preparing from someone who works for him. What do y'all think?
+Josh Aguirre The opposite of that is actually happening. The IT sector is booming and not slowing down in the future. Good luck to you, nice talking with you
+TrevorTraining The problem is Computer Science is starting to get hard. If I had a "choice" of what I want to do, it would be networking, because I actually really enjoy learning the terms and stuff. But people are starting to think there will be fewer networking/IT jobs in the future which is why I don't know if I want networking/IT as a career.
Hi Trevor, this is Mohd Yaseen from India, Iam physically handicap
(physically challenged) so I just want to know that
" can physically challenged people can do the job ( on CCNA and CCNP)?
or
Does this job require physically fit people?.
please give a reply if anyone knows Iam in great confusion so please help
me out from this confusion.
+Mohd Yaseen Cisco networking in the United States typically does not have any physical requirements. I am not sure about your country though This situation may be different and you should ask someone in your area.
I'm a newbie when it comes to networking. As a Electronic Engineering
student i also wish to persue certification in Networking (CCNA and other
levels).
As you mentioned,i'll begin with CCENT,but i don't really get the part
where you mentioned that the certification expires within 3 years or so and
we have to re-appear for it again. If you could clear that part to me,i
don't get why is that so?
Thank you.
I see, thanks for the info. Is it okay to apply for CCNA immideately after passing CCENT or do i have to take some industrial experience after it and then go for next level.
+Akshay Vichare Yes, no problem. The certification only last 3 years. If you do not re-certify or test for another higher level cert, your will expire and you will no longer have the valid Cisco title.
Routing - Lesson 1 - CCNA (200-120) or CCNAX
This lesson is 1 of several that will be posted here for the Routing course. We will cover everything from connecting to a router, configuring administrative tasks ...
thank you for info.. i'm from Orlando. i want to get my CCNA in a couple of
month.. i heard that it cost 250$ and if you fail have to pay again 250$.
that's why i study hard to pass form the first time.
Your video helped me out a lot but i have a question you said the first one
was /24 and then towards the end of the video you said it was a /27, i
still don't understand how you got that.
The default subnet mask was 255.255.255.0 (/24), because he was using a
Class C address. But since he used 3 more network bits to get his desired
results, the actual subnet mask was /27.
excellent video, you make it make sense. this stupid book my school gave me
sucks compared to this video. thank you, I am considering buying your book.
+Waggz74 Reasonable response. But I like it! Helps me remember and hopefully make people mad that I'm saying it that way...but guess what, they wont forget it!
