EASY UNCLOG OF HAIR VANITY & TUB DRAIN DIY vIDEO
Bob Schmidt shows you how to use a newer product where any homeowner can remove most common hair clogs in sinks and tubs without taking anything apart ...
I've a toilet that, when flushed or plunged, the bowl fills to top then
slowly drains completely ending with a glugging noise once emptied. same
when plunged. Overflowed only once. Tried a "closet" snake, but didn't
help. Toilet #2 clogs/runs slow occasionally too~ not as bad or often as
the other (I'm careful how much I put down per flush to minimize problems
until I can fix) Washing machine water backs up into the utility sink. no
problems elsewhere Suggestions? Thanks, & great vids too! :D
We have 4 daughters with long hair and thier bathtub was clogged really
bad. We could not get the stopper out to use a drain snake so we just
bought a lot of product. So we finally decided to give it one last shot and
googled how to unclog drains. Your video came up first so we checked it
out. We went to our local hardware store and bought the last zip it for
$4.49. Our clog was all hair and only about 2 inches down. It was gross and
disgusting but our drain flows so smooth now. Thanks!
ive been a plumber 24 years i have used one of spiral drain tools , be very
carefull on push fit drain pipes you can push them apart, i use a cheap wet
and dry vacuum cleaner , put it on suck place the end over the plug hole
block of the over flow , switch on let the water run , job done it has
never failed to clean any bloackage ive come up against even fat in
comercial kitchen just keep hot water flowing....
you know when that happend to me too what happened was you know the place
behind your toilet (where the you push to flush) should have a lid on it
and below it is where the water fills up so basiclly it was an imbalance of
the amount of water in there and the amount the goes into the toilet when
flushing. thats why that happens
Sounds to me you may have a problem in your main. There is a service
available where you can have your main scoped with a camera . It is very
telling about blockages, breaks, and areas of pipe with improper slopes
holding water where it should not be. Your problem seems to be too spread
out to be all seperate issues.+++Bob
Unfortunately I doubt it.What you need is called a "CLOSET AUGER" it is
designed specifically to snake toilets not only should it clear your hair
issue but if most anything else unknowingly fell down your toilet, hand
towels as an example,it will also clear these.GOOD LUCK===Bob
I just got done using one, and removed a lot of hair, but my drain is still
clogged. What do I do about har beyond the reach of the zip it or a zip it
that takes the "wrong turn" and goes up towards the tub drain switch? Is
there a safe-ish chemical or some other method?
I've used these zip strips and they work amazingly well. I'm a landlord and
always want to do my own work if possible. I've even even cleaned and saved
a zipper for multiple uses. One thing, I would try to remove the stoppers
before zipping just to make it easier.
When you did get it to go partially down did it pull any debris out of
pipe? If so keep working on it you may have a heck of a clog there. Is it
possible that a cap or some other hard blockage may be down drain or have
hair clogs been problems in the past?===Bob
Hi Bob, I thinks thats a great idea the zipit im a plumber in the UK and
use an aquavac to suck out the hair and nasties down the drain but on the
odd occasion it dosent work and that would do the trick. many thanks again
for some great tip ! A1 AWESOME !
Are you familiar with how to take the pop-up out of tub? Then you may want
to borrow or use a small drain snake, if you can get it to go about 2 feet
into drain a few times that will usually take care of a more stubborn
blockage Good luck +++Bob
Is this a drain line that is exposed that you can get to or buried in wall?
If you are too far from stack with no vent this could be your issue, also
what type of drain material are we talking and how old?+++Bob
This is an excellent product. I am really glad I came across this video. I
got the gunk out of my shower drain in a few minutes. I know if it really
works when I can my husband to use it in our other shower.
