Hey Bill. love your channel and watch it daily. I have an old masterlock
no.1 that is giving me so much trouble. I cant get that thing open no
matter what I try. It opens with the key just fine so I know the lock is
not seized up. I cannot get some of the pins to set.
I have been picking for about a two months. I am able to open the other master locks I own within a minute usually a few seconds if I rake them. But this No.1 I cant rake at all. been trying for about a week. I have tried very light, medium and heavy tension. two of the pins will not stay up at all. I will keep trying!
+LoneStarPrepper How long have you been picking? Generally, if the key opens the lock then it is considered OK. It is possible you are picking the pins out of sequence. The #1 does not have security pins, so all you are looking at are standard pins & sometimes they can be tricky in older locks. Keep at it & within a week you'll be laughing at how incredibly easy it was and wondering why you were having problems with it.
it probably seems super easy to you but it takes someone very
knowledgeable, skilled, and inventive to do this. it's not like the cat
food lid opened the lock by itself.
I'd like to see you open a lock using regular objects that you don't have
to modify (ie no cutting something into the shape of a pick) and without
using ANY actual picking tools (including the wrench thing you use to turn
the lock)
I've bypassed the key area altogether and used a small part of a coke can
to release the locking mechanism on the top side of the lock. It works
quite well, although I'm not sure if you can still do this as I haven't
picked a lock in many years. They may have fixed this
+Matthew Toyias That is called shimming, in spring loaded locking palls, they make hardened and tempered steel ones that won't wear out or bend easily. Most good quality locks will use ball bearings and a turning actuator that releases them, making it impossible to shim. Master lock, has done no such thing to my knowledge
+MrHavukka Yes, many times but with no luck whatsoever. They are EXCELLENT locks, which probably explains why there are no videos of them being picked. If I could afford them, these would be the types of locks on my home.
How to open a Master lock 175 combination padlock in 3 seconds.
This is a 3 second way to open a Master Lock combination lock Very quickly and easily. This works with with ML 175, 176178. These things are JUNK! ALS Picks ...
the fact that this lock can be defeated doesn't make it junk IMO. that
said, yours is a great video - i was curious to see the insides compared to
the new 975 lock. the 975 seems to be a completely different design.
Locks and safes are rated for the time it takes to get into one. They're
only for honest people anyway. Anyone else will just drive through the
side of a vault -- just like 9/11 when terrorists used planes for bombs. I
appreciate you posting this.
+Gordon Kearse There were no planes used as bombs since there were NO planes that day, no take-off times for 11, 77 and 175, and fake cgi of the second tower, and how did building 7 fall? You are brainwashed, the terrorists are the Democrats and Republicans. Aluminum foil airplanes could never cut steel, it's all a lie to make you hate people (it worked) and pass horrible laws (that worked also)
(671) Master Lock: Bamboo Skewered Open
People with follow-up vids showing weird openings: #1 DefaultDragon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNdw-aDJlEs #2 Will Meijer: ...
+TheDucaticol Yeah, but that can also be whatever you find. For instance, I've used a bent tea spoon. Metal is nice though you don't have to use it, it's just easier.
After watching your videos, I went and bought a bunch of locks -- and with
my brand new Sparrows lockpicks in hand, I went to work.
1) A Master lock like in the video
Went pretty easy -- 15' -- it was the first lock I ever picked, so good
enough for a start :)
2) A Sencys lock
Not too hard -- took a while and a lot of clicks and feedback and
scratching, by now I was able to open the first Master lock in under a
minute
3) A Magnum lock
A bit tougher, I still seem to struggle to get it right, but I'm using
rather large lockpicks (by now I have my next batch of picks ordered) --
The Master lock opens in 5-10 seconds, the Sencys .. 2 minutes
4) A Master lock M1B Excell
Not had an open yet -- Raked, Zipped, Bitch-picked, SPPd -- not even a
false set. I looked at your channel, but no luck finding one of those yet ;)
5) My first 3 locks still work as a moral booster -- I got a next lock from
my father in law : a Tri-Circle.
This gave me hope, since I saw you make fun of chinese locks -- but mine
must be from the day when China still made good locks -- not one open or
false set yet :)
Man -- waiting for better tensioning tools can be sooo long :)
Thanks for the fun -- keep it up -- and if you ever have 10 seconds, have a
look at that M1B Excell because I'm starting to wonder if Master has locks
for the US market and the EU market with different quality standards :D I
mean.. it can't be your skills ... right ? :)
+P. De Rop isn't false set really a thing only when you have security pins in the lock? If you have standard pins what gives you a false set there's nothing to be set false is there? It can either set or not set or you overset it.
How to Pick Open a master padlock in 5 seconds!
Here Kelly (special operations SERE instructor) shows you a trick to open a lock with one stroke of a rake. Loads of lock picking and how to keep your valuables ...
+toro4090 The method takes five seconds, not the video. Idiot.
How to decode a master lock key safe??
READ THE DESCRIPTION!!!! This video shows you how to open a Master Lock key safe model 5401D with a peterson knife tool. I have absolutely no trust in ...
What an ass, many old people have these to let their carers in and you post
this to help people come in and beat the shit outta them and rob them -
well done
oh ffs so there is no problem that old people and disabled in rented homes are at risk by this being made public. I can't crawl down low enough to explain it anymore to you
+Harvey Teacup your comment shows you never read what I wrote. Councils put these up for old folk and disabled, they don't get to decide themselves, they didn't buy it - it was put on for nurses and carers to get in.
+Betty Boo The kind of combo lock used on this has been widely picked, its not unique to this product. There is a big difference between showing this to the general public and showing it to manufactures. Honestly you shouldn't spend your money on anything with the name master if you are looking for "security".
I agree it should be sent to the company, however the fact there is a weakness, and only those who intend to crack it (criminals and researchers) will know this, so its easy to get one and find out. If people dont get told that this product is not as secure as it advertises, then surely this is the moment people can say ok, ill pick another one.. me as a customer, has been made aware this may not be a safe product so now i can go to another product and review it.. only one key safe that im aware of is the best, it was given support by uk police, so now im researching that, simple?
+Thomas Cahill did you not read what I said - older folk are FORCED to use this disabled folk are FORCED to use this for carers - so this puts everyone of them at risk.Pass this info onto the company, pass it to Which to review - leave reviews around online selling spots so that when people like you want to know it informs you - but FFS do not put people at risk. If you can not understand that then I can not crawl down to explain it any further
+Betty Boo its hardly making an ass, considering im looking for a key safe, its good to know the information is there, would you prefer the thieves to know and not pass on the method for others to be robbed?
+Betty Boo I completely understand your position but it takes widespread publicity to get large organizations to make changes. Sure, take it to the company or council, they'll say "gee, thanks". But we've spent thousands (or millions) already on the product. We're not going to spend thousands or millions more to buy new ones or rebuild the product for minimal risk. They'll take a stance like you and others have, "only a few know how to break it, so the risk is minimal". Point them to a place like this and show them that a guaranteed hundreds of thousands have the "secret" they just may be prompted to actually do something.
A newspaper taking it to the company would be better, a person taking this to the police would be better - Just because you CAN put things online doesnt mean you should - people need to learn that and think. Closed minds do what they want to do, open minds care about others. You benefiting is putting many at risk.
and a reporter in a newspaper isn't publicizing it? That is contradictory. I think you are closed minded, and this isn't 1910...information like this will ALWAYS end up online. The whole world, online. Get used to it. I'm sorry that you can't see that your desires and wishes are just as irrational as the world returning to a pre-internet time long passed. Just because it is easily accessed on youtube, doesn't mean that the determined person can't get their hands on it. Ignorance costs. Those with knowledge benefit...I for one would like to benefit.
+Libertas1 This info should have been shared with councils, or the company that makes it , even a reporter in a newspaper but ffs it should never been put on a public place like this to teach folk how to break into those folk who need protecting the most I am sorry you can not see that
+Betty Boo Then the obligation is on councils to pay for better locks. Ignorance and turning a blind eye to information and fact only causes more future problems. I am a landlord, and I am happy I did not buy this product and I was directed to this video. This information has protected my tenants and my investment. Thanks for posting it.
I understand about locks but people still have a moral duty not to add to the risk of those who are the weakest in our areas. That should be easy enough for anyone to understand, shame understanding about moral duty and not acting on it happens
Have said it before and for you I will say it again COUNCILS PUT THESE ON disabled and old folk can not choose. I doubt I will ever get through to a person who defends this stupid posting
1 they wont 2 they have many other ways to get access, should they want to3 this video is for education puroses4 old people could choose any other locks.
+aajjeee THIS lock is used on the doors of many old folks homes, disabled folks homes and assisted living homes so that carers and nurses can get in. I could walk out now and take you to 100s. Anyone defending this post is nuts. Yes any lock can be picked but THIS key lock is the one used by councils so the people at most risk.
exept many old people also use ANY other locks, which are all pickable. seriously look it up, there is a technique for every locks. the only ones hard to go through arent the ones that old people can afford, so it really makes no difference wether this lock's method is shown or not. in any case, someone who would want to harm one of these old people would be able to pick the lock whitout the video since this is a normal procedure for these types of combination locks.
+Betty Boo You have a point...they could just give a warning and not show it. I don't know if I would have taken it as seriously though...not sure. I'm just glad I know about this now.
If they want to inform then show this to councils that use these, send this to the company but ffs dont post it on here for people to get broken into , beaten up and robbed. Warning is one thing, showing in detail how to break into a home is another. This puts 1000s of old folk at risk.
+Betty Boo Sorry, but you're just dead wrong, and are being willfully ignorant. It's information like this that causes companies to improve their products. I was about to buy one of these until I read an Amazon review warning of how easy they are to pick...that led me to this video. Now I can also alert family members who have this kind of lockbox on their front door. Betty Boo, are you SERIOUSLY saying that you DON'T want to know when a product (especially a security product!) is faulty??? If so, all I can say is God bless and GOOD LUCK.
It doesnt matter what people can buy it matters what councils put on doors for old folk. Yes some would know this but many wouldnt and this ass is showing them how to work it. You are a bigger ass for defending it
HE is not an ass, he's doing a service to us all! Do you really think crooks didn't know how to do this before? Now you know to never buy a wheel-type lockbox! Spin dials are the safest you can buy without spending a small fortune. THANK YOU for the public service!!!
Fast easy open for MasterLock M5 padlocks
This padlock is often difficult and time consuming to open conventionally, by lock picking. Here I show you how to open them in under 1 minute.
Hahaha brilliant Kelly brilliant!!! Have to get me this pluf spinner now.
Did you know that the core has NO security pins at all? I bet you did! But
did you also know that the Actuator is made out of a cheap zinc die cast
that you can melt down? Watch my review and gutting of it as I took one
apart if you like.
Nice bit of info Kelly....did you try to unlock it counter clockwise? As
I'm sure you know, alot of Masters will open either way... Just a
thought.... Is that the new Tensor with the cut, Bro? Me want badley...me
already sent you pm...Lol
Yeah, these cores are junk like the rest of them. I actually tore them
apart last year and posted up pics here and on my ALS website showing all
the internal parts. I will watch your video though. Thank you for watching
and commenting.
