Hi, I've been looking for a channel that help me take good care of my hair
for a while now. An I'm so glad I found your channel I think your channel
is the closest I've found that matches my needs and hair. I'm still trying
to learn about my hair. I've been relaxing it for years. but these last 6
years I have't done it right. I do it once a year only and I'm getting
pretty frustrated about it. I wanna go natural but need some inspiration.
Did you always used your hair natural? May be you could tell us the story
and how you learned to take care of your hair..
Thanks for sharing,
Carol
+Carolina Nunes Hiiii! Thanks for stopping by my channel- I'm glad you found it! I actually was relaxed until December 21, 2012 lol- I NEVER even considered going long lengths of time without a relaxer until I began interested in growing my hair but that is a really good idea! I think I'll do a little video on that! :D
Big Curly Sew-in Review (Her Hair Company) | Jasmine Defined
Big Curly Sew-in Review (Her Hair Company) **Expand for more info!** You voted and I did it! What do you think? Hair: Brazilian Curly 16", 18", 20", 22" ...
uhh just sayin ..you were saying except your hair for what it does...a
twist out and braid out and such is something your hair can do, like if a
white person attempted Bantu knots it wouldn't look the same .. and like to
pick out your hair is a style and it is something your hair can do it just
takes less time but your hair is not naturally like that, its something
like bantu knots and braid out..other races cant really do or get the same
affect if they tried it, you made some good points though
I would have to disagree that natural hair has not been widely accepted in
corporate america. I have been natural since 02' the only negative comments
I got was not from my corporate counterparts but it was from black men and
women. Glad it is more popular now but again I never had a problem with
working with C-Suite counterparts mostly WHITE MALES with a TWA or big ass
afro. I never considered going natural as a movement just a personal
preference. Confidence should be there regardless of hair
I'm tired of black women wearing their hair and weaves like Farrah Fawcett,
Madonna and Katie Perry. Sisters I beg you cut the chemical strings and
make your hair ring back into ringlets. Chemicals damage our hair. Relaxers
have the same ingredients as Drano (LYE - Sodium, Lithium, and Calcium
Hydroxide) even those that say NO LYE. It's a lie. Hair straightening
started as a means to get Nordic Cave People (ahem) Whites to accept us.
they didn't. That is why the Afro was the rebellious hairdo.
I love being natural, wearing a fro, rocking twist-outs..I love my hair. It
seems like you're talking down defined styling (I'm not sure I may be
misunderstaning the premise of this video). We should embrace it all, AFROS
are beautiful TWIST OUTS are beautiful...our hair is beautiful altogether
no matter how it is manipulated. Like Liyah P said, it's all connected. The
elitism dripping from this video is off-putting. I love your videos but
this one I felt the need to speak on. God bless. :)
All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I definitely agree with you, that
the same type of criticism is what lead our black ancestors to leave their
natural hair styles in the first place and turn to a more chemically
acceptable lifestyle just to fit in and feel good about themselves. Up
until now I thought I was doing something wrong with my hair and my
regimen. I'm so glad I ran upon your videos. I'm a new subscriber and I
feel better about my hair journey already. Again....thank you.
The "Fuss" is the Anti-Relaxer Natural Divas forcing their Opinions on
others. I love Natural Hair but it's a Woman's Personal Choice. Awarness is
good. LOVE YOUR NATURAL HAIR; LOVE YOURSELF... but everyone with a Perm,
Relaxer or Chemical Agent in their Hair are not doing it because of
SELF-HATE. Many who have gone Natural for years NOW Relax their Hair by
CHOICE. It's a matter of Choice for many There's nothing wrong with a Woman
who has Beautiful, Strong and Healthy RELAXED HAIR.
OMG!!! I really needed to hear that. Lately when I do my hair, it hasn't
been turning out the way I like (not enough definition and curls). And I
don't feel like its presentable. But the other day. I just said "forget
this" I picked my hair out and went to the grocery store. It gave me this
confidence boost that I have never felt before. The longer stares I got,
the higher I held my head. This is just what I needed to hear in 2013.
Loving the hair on my head. Thanx for that girl
I like i like my hair more defined ..My defined hair is big enough..You may
think that definition doesnt make peoples hair pretty but i do..I love to
see definition on curly girls..Now for those who dont have curly hair i
understand that they wont have definition like that.. They are equally
beautiful but i for one wont rock an afro to prove im natural. My natural
hair is curly not an afro. P.S. To each its own..People have the right to
do as they please:)
Great message! I prefer my hair to reflect my personality; that is why I
don't personally wear my hair picked out.I have worn it picked out a few
times and it just doesn't match my personality or went with my clothing.
LOL. With that said, I wish there were more conservative naturals. I'm
starting to think that natural hair is for free spirited, artistic,
militant, and non-ambitious types which I hope isn't accurate but that is
what I normally see.
I love, love ,loved your video!!!! It is so real, I needed that reminder
about my hair. Our hair is natural and you are right, defined hair does not
mean your hair is pretty. Love the natural fro and will walk with my head
up high. As a matter of fact I will ware my hair in a fro tomorrow. My
husband loves that. And yes natural hair is not just a change but it's a
STATE OF MIND!!!!! Love it girl!!!
OMG! you have helped me today. This is my second time natural and usually
when it get long I cut if off because it is so soft like cotton that the
only style I can wear is my Fro. BTW: I love my Fro!!!! But I was about to
cut it all off because I want to wear it flat iron but it won't stay long.
Only for about 3 mins. and then revert back to my Fro!
I AGREE. There's just too much UNNECESSARY Fuss & Noise about going
Natural. More Women should continue to "GO NATURAL it's the BEST!",but @
the Same time Natural Diva's who are 'Anti-Chemical' NEED TO CALM DOWN &
ACCEPT Women Choosing "What's best for them." Everyone is NOT about
Self-Hate. IF they PREFER a Relaxer that's their Personal Choice.
Yes they would call me snappy nappy ...WHY you DO THAT to your hair. I
remember first time going natural BIG CHOP going to pick my then 2nd grader
up from boys club he went running out of the gym crying saying I
embarrassed him and people were laughing at me (now 19 we laugh about it).
Im so happy our sisters and brothers are more accepting now.
You mean to tell me that there is a whole generation of young Black women
who have NEVER seen their hair in its natural state? SAD! Very SAD! We will
never be free as long as WE think we need to fit in. Be you! I'll call it
even when non-Black women start attaching tightly coiled bunches of hair to
their heads. Then maybe we can talk.
That's right sistah and that's the thing that creates the insecurities from
other so-called race because they feel the energy, the POWER that exudes
from the melanin lol. And as a Black man I want my natural sistas back I am
tired of all this colorful /weaved crap I will take my sista as she is any
day of the week. Love Boo!
I LOVE this video and am glad to have bumped into it!!!! And I am a 4c
Shrinkage Sista....HOWEVER, I've come to LOVE my hair and am at the place
where I don't care who doesn't. India Arie put it best in 'I am Not my
Hair' and it would be a shame to miss out on all of this!!! I have embraced
my Afro and wear her proudly!!!!
Well everyone hair isnt a effing AFRO in their natural state without
manipulation..Like i said my hair is culry without manipulation...Obviously
you didnt understand my point so dont reply...smfh..stupid....having an
afro without manipulation doesnt make anyone more natural than anyone
else_POINT BLANK PERIOD!!!
THANKYOU! we have the same undefined texture but the nape grows straight
for some reason and people always tell me to do twist outs to make it even
D:< and i dont want to bc thats just the way my hair grows! i wash and go
and whatever my hair turns out is the way im keeping it!!!! great
empowerment video!!!
sister girl you are so right... I do just that... I just roll with...
People give me a hard time, but It truly does bother them when I step in
the room with my med. size afro... The men especially white men just love
it... you are so right..l. I love your channel... I'm subcribing. lol
I was saying that your point was irrelavant since you are twisting the
message of the video around and misinterpreting it. Please don't private
message me again. Anyone this defensive needs to work on themselves and
their issues. Peace and love, girl. Keep things positive.
I wanted to add that I went natural for convenience not to make a political
statement so I'm starting to think I should just relax it again. Because I
don't fit in with most naturals and I don't like all the labeling and
"shoulds" that the natural community puts on us.
I believe that the "movement", as its called, refers to the large increase
of black women who are going back to their natural hair and giving up
chemical treatments. The "fuss" is because MORE black women are accepting
their hair for what it is.
Love you for this video Sista, you spoke the truth and it was so real. I am
getting ready to transition, my hair has been in braids for 4 months and I
am ready to continue on with my hair Journey.... I am watching all of your
video's...
i don't understand how people can think fro=unprofessional. like...it's
just your hair. you're wearing make-up and earrings and look like you woke
up and spent more than 2 minutes in the mirror. people who say that are
just ignorant.
EXCELLENT VID!!! Been going natural for about 2 months now... difficult
emotional transformations. Once the thought process has been conquered it
does get easier and easier! YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS! I have a long way to go!
Loved your video sis....why should we be ashamed of what God gave us. I
rock my fro how I please and when I please. If people have a problem go
talk to Jesus about it. By the way consider yourself subbed.........LOL!!!!
BUT WHY DOI U HAVE TO HAVE A AFRO TO PROVE U LOVE YOURSELF OUR HAIR GET
CURLY WHEN IS WET IS A CURLY AFRO, WE THE ONE THAT BLOW DRY IT TO TURN BLOW
DRY AFRO SO HOW IS THAT OUR NATURAL HAIR OR PROUD OF YOUR HAIR ?
Someone finally said it and from personal experience it's not an easy thing
to do all the time because of the outside world but seriously needs to be
encourage, so thank you for your strength and sharing it.
Love this WOMAN! Keep empowering black women to understand, respect, and
believe in themselves! My natural hair journey has definitely been more of
a spiritual transformation than a physical transformation.
One Natural Diva Said it Best: "The FUSS is turning a lot of people OFF. No
one should be INTIMIDATED or GUILTED into Going Natural to make a
STATEMENT."─Marie Nurse Esthetician I AGREE WITH HER AS WELL.
you hair is defined though, if u just woke up and went out you'd have an
uneven slope in some places. hair should be tidy irrespective of texture
cuz it brings your features together.
Natural Hair How To | Easy 3 Strand Twist 4 Better Curl Definition
Hey Beauties, it's been a couple of weeks and I am BACK!!!! I have finally mastered the technique I dreaded the most...the THREE STRAND TWIST. Here is a ...
OMG!!! You REALLY responded!!! ThanQ!!! Very nice of you ;-) Im trying this
no relaxer journey and I would really like to try this and ROCK it!!! Thanx
again
+RoRoclark No problem, it can be very overwhelming and intimidating but it will be worth it. Your hair will thank you! Stay tuned for the yarn demo, I'll try to get that out ASAP ~Smooches~
+RoRoclark Not at all, it took me some time to get a grasp of it. The best way I can explain it is to wrap your strands instead of intertwining them as you would do with a braid. Take your three strands and take the outer strand (the one closet to your head or the one on the far end) and place it around the other two. You stay in the same direction and now take the strand that is now in the position of the one you just moved and wrap that over the two remaining and repeat. I will try to get a quick video out this week demonstrating with yarn...that may be easier. We are gonna get you three strand twisting ASAP! lol. Thanks for watching ~Smooches~
+Rebecca Perkins Hey Rebecca! Thanks a bunch for watching my video. I can't think of the actual color off the topnof my head. I dyed the ends over a year ago. Check out the actual video, everything u need to know is there! ~Smooches~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWVRAKe04BA&list=TLd7mJwGeyeik
DIY Curly Hair Styling Cream
Hey ya'll! I decided to try this fast, easy and fun DIY. It is a Curly hair styling cream! I came up with this recipe on my own :D INGREDIENTS USED: - 6 tbsp. silicone ...
+Sabrine A I deleted it a long time ago. I made the video to get more publicity, but I deleted it after a while because I wasn't being true to myself. I don't like makeup so I shouldn't pretend to like it for views.
I've tried many different hair routines but this one works the best for me so why not share it and help other curly haired girls out :) Awkward Meeting ...
