Thanks for this tutorial. I'm new with Maya and Z-brush :)
I want to know, to create a character for animation use, is it best to
begin in maya by creating a basic shape and then import it to Zbrush for
refining like the other tutorials on youtybe, or can one just start strait
on modeling in Zbrush (like you're tutorial here) and use the finish
sculpted model for animation use in Maya? I don't know if it's the personal
workflow of the artist or is there a reason for it.
Apologies for the confusing question but as i said, I'm new at this,
thanks!
+K Schoeman Its better to sculpt it in Zbrush first and then retopo it in Maya cuz with this amount of polygons you will render the animation for years :DD

This tutorial has been wonderful and really helpful. However Zbrsh is the
first sculpting program I've been learning to use, so where you have made
some items in other programs and imported them I am at a bit of a loss.
I am trying to create a tooth and a claw in Zbrush for now as I'd like to
get this project finished, but I feel a buit let down.
+Emma Sedgwick I suggest getting to know a standard 3d Application like Cinema 4d, or Autodesk Maya, etc, these are straight polygonal manipulation programmes :)

Couldn't you have included the importing step into the tutorial? I pulling
my hair out here, because every time I import a tongue mesh it either
deletes the dinosaur or it places the tongue inside the body of the
dinosaur, and I have no idea how to move the tongue around. It is so
frustrating. I figured it out now. Had something to do with edit vs object
mode
I have a question. Can this "Zbrush Sculpting" good for ,I mean can you use
it in gaming can these be the models of game characters ,and be put in
games?Or are they only good for movies, because i think that's just about
the use of this. And are there people making profit outta this? Thanks for
your time.
Yes, this can be used for games, but you have to put in commands and make the characters able to move. There are tons of people who do this job either for a living or as an hobby.
I haven't understand how do you split just a part of the model (the green
square) and then you build it up again after the changes. Thank you for
these videos, really helpful!
Friend, where can I find the activation serials, all I´ve find is a keygen
for windows, is there one for mac or a list of serials ? Thank you in
advance.
+chris200830 yeah I guess part of the reason why it's so expensive is because so many people pirate it. If you're making money using zbrush, buying the software just seems like the morally correct way to do it. But if you're just a hobbyist trying out new things, there's no reason to dump $700 on it.
+Edge-CGI 3D Tutorials and more!Absolutely! Normally I would've used Cinema 4D for sculpting, but now I see how easy this program actually is. Might actually jump over to this program. =D
Hope you enjoy! Last part of this series is out Monday! and we got lots more awesome content coming for you guys!

Very cool stuff! I have a project i am working on in Z4 and was wondering
what your opinion was with rigging characters for animation. I would like
the character I am working on to be a high poly sculpted model with skin
texture, wrinkles etc. However, I am wondering what you thought would be
the best route to take for rigging the character for animation. Should I
maybe keep the character low poly and rig it in a more traditional modeling
program for more versatility?
@fireb451 its not like poser at all. the reason for these basic manequins
is that they take a lot less memory and can be direct-switched with any
highres model that you already have(/made) in zbrush. it wouldnt make sense
to display detailed figures just for determining some pose...
