@flava82 I just recorded using Serato DJ's internal recording function,
with a cable from the mixer to the Aux input on the SL3.
You certainly could record into Ableton directly if you hook it up to your
mixer. Then just drop the video file in afterwards.
Hey Mo, did you quit DJTT and joined DJcity instead?

I am sorry but You are wrong with dissableling areo and not letting our GPU
take all the stress instead of the CPU running windows basing, We live in
2013 every one doing real production work should have at least an i5 with a
decent video card, and dont disable your graphics gui you can actually
customize it to perform just better then what the cpu would do in basic
mode, it renders more frames and set everything to high performance no eye
candy! and it runs my StudioOne software very smooth! :)
Hi great vid but i really need you help in part 1 i did the latency chec
and mon and a few of my things were allot higher than 1 ( NDIS 6.2 driver
which was 40.8!? / ACPI driver for Nwhich was at 10.8 / and intel rapid
tecnology driver which was 1.8) i cannot find anyof these in the section
you showed me and im guessing i really need to disable them to oimprove my
performance if you could be so ,kind to help me out with this i would be so
so so so greatfull thanks allot, jake keep up the vids:D
@youngn420 Duh, its a joke man. Of course you can use an after market
mouse. But there is a very distince difference between Apple and PC
products. Apple is like a cruise ship. A PC is like a small speedboat. You
can do whatever you want in AppleOS, as long as they support it natively.
Try to do something they don't want you to, and its a pain in the ass. The
PC gives you more freedom. You just have to do some of the work yourself.
All my specs are more than good enough. I have used the mixtrack pro for
about 2 years and today i got my traktor kontrol s2. I uninstalled my
traktor le 2, and everything else. not ASIO4all sound card though. I start
playing with the s2 and the songs are sometime crackling/lagging, CPU/Load
is always super low and I closed all unecesseary programs, latency etc. yet
the fucking problem remains. what can I do?
Great advice here; there's two big tips i would like to share with you
guys. 1) In task manager you can change Ableton's process priority from
normal to either above normal, high or even realtime! 2) I personally
(safely) shut down windows explorer when using Ableton, effectively using
as an OS because of the awesome built in browser.
Just a warning with some exceptions. If you install the hotfix and the
newest windows updates at the same time you may have problems. After I did
so my PC wouldn't boot or get past the configuring windows service prompt
at start up. After restarting and attempting to boot in safe mode(s)
multiple times it finally went through.
I hate to say it, but to be honest Windows is nothing but trouble for live
Music performance. I don't trust Windows computers. This video was to help
people who use Windows, but even with all of this, I still didn't trust the
computer I optimized. Too many unwanted "surprises." Get a Mac ;)
Great Tutorial thxs, but I have some weird problem. I'm using AbletonLive
on Asus K53s laptop with Esi U46XL usb interface and it works only with one
type of mouse. I've tested many with no good result. The "only one" is
Microsoft SideWinder X5. Can U please help me? Sorry for my english.
@pilotdapunk The ones that are smart enough not to buy in to the Mac craze,
PC's and Macs are about the same, Macs are just better at not
crashing(Which DubStop is showing us how to make our PC's do that.) and
Windows is better at being able to do whatever the hell you want.
It's been awhile since I DJ'd using a pc laptop, but I remember typing
"msconfig" in the run box to bring up System Configuration. From there I
disabled startup services to lessen the amount of programs running in the
background that weren't needed for DJing.
PLEASE make one for windows 8 users! i messed up and bought a HP laptop
with good specs but it runs like **** with windows 8. and since it's a new
equipment i can't just easily go back and downgrade to windows 7 because it
messes up the drivers. HELP
great tutorial! thanks for the help. I was wondering, I have the great
miss-fortune of using windows vista. I know they are similar OS's (and
vista just sucks any way) but i was wondering if you could give some tips
for that OS as well? Thaknks
Don't have it on the network and disable the anti-virus, anti-spyware and
firewall. All of these are huge resource hogs. Yes, the machine is a bit
more difficult to manage, but the performance gain is worth the hassle.
Is there any monitoring software for windows xp?I downgraded my os thinking
vista was causing the dropouts with all the aero effects. dpc lat works but
not the latency mon. Is there an earlier version that works?
@pilotdapunk the ones that dont just play track after track, the ones that
like to do cool stuff, stuff that a mac wont allow. dont be sad you paid a
shit load a money but you can still play tracks in a row.
Sounds like all the issues im having.Did you ever figure it out?I'm bout to
chuck it and get a mac.I've tried everything, and I mean everything! If I
could just get the spike to go away I would be so happy.
Screw doing all that, just get a powerful laptop (for half the price of the
most basic mac) and the get TuneUp Utilies and hit the Turbo Mode button -
it does all that and more in just one button...... :)
Thanks for the tips BUT! It seems I no longer have "Stereo Mix" for my
windows 7 (needed for Audacity) since using all the steps you have given.
Any idea why? Tips for fixing?
Well, my personal setup is a 17" Macbook Pro with a 500 GB SSD, and I took
my CD drive out and put in a 1TB internal hard drive, and max'd the ram as
well. The thing is a beast.
i am getting a hotfix not applicable for my computer message. i think this
is because i am using service pack 1. is there another hotfix? do i even
need it? thanks
Would you recomend this to anyone using a Windows-based machine? I've never
had any issues regarding performance yet >__> 7,1 on the windows experience
rating.
