Thats the point of Hell's Kitchen. He is harsh on the contestants to see how well they do under pressure. You go into this competition to become a chef of a famous restuarant. If you can't take it, then don't bother joining.
I seriously don't know anymore. I mean, I have seen him in the UK Kitchen
Nightmares where he is fairly calm actually. In US Kitchen Nightmares he is
a bit more harsh but those episodes look all the same to me. In Hell's
Kitchen he is just over the top. It's making me consider if he is just a
very good actor or genuinly is alot more aggressive and stressed under
other circumstances. Can someone explain to me?
+LIONWAVE The point of hells kitchen is to put the cooks through the worst circumstances possible to see if they're cut out for the business. Go to any professional high class kitchen and you'll hear profanity and insults being thrown around constantly, kitchens are incredibly high stress environments.
In the American version the contestants cook for a living, in the UK version they're amateurs so I think he's a little more understanding. In kitchen nightmares I think the music adds to the more harsh feel as in the UK we do not over use the dramatic violin sound affect.

+TwoTube2 Perhaps. If you want to get clinical she's most likely a Somatic Narcissist and what's going on with her son is a term known as 'emotional incest'. Narcissists need admiration and attention and when they're unfortunately parents they seek it from their kids. Hence the inappropriate flirting with the kid. Disturbing to see in any event.

a little tric that help brake barriers is to have the mind set of not
having a rounded out number or complete number always keep open to the
possibility of doing more to get better and get your next PR. What i always
do is for my first set i take a weight that i can max out on 10 like a 7 im
grinding red in the face. and then i stop counting on the other sets but
increase the weight so i know i dont have to count because im going to fit
in the rang that i want. The next tip related to that is always keep an
open mind to improve dont have a fixed number in your like 8. Always think
i can bam out 1 more. so your sets sould always be 8+1 or 9+1 and always
tell your self come one one more avery rep. Plateau buster
I was doing BB Bench Press, going for a set of 5 for my last working set. I
was in the power rack so i set the pins/bars to just below my chest and
thought it would be good. So i got up to my last rep, thought i could do
it, it ended up being too hard and as slowly as possible, i lowered the bar
to my ab area so the bars on the side could take the bar. I was then stuck
for about 5 seconds as i thought what should i do, so i had to pretty much
slide under the bar while lifting it with my hands :D
I've got a bench in my room and I was benching alone once, I failed on the
last rep up so the bar slowly started coming down to my chest, while I
resisted the negative as hard as i could. I was feeling pretty tense,
suddenly i had a stroke of genius and realised I could tip the plates off
the bar!....then i realised, my mother would pretty pissed if i damaged the
floor floorboards! So i panicked, and in an effort to save my ribs, i
tucked my bare shins under the bar! then, remaining in this pos
Squatting 265lbs x 3 for the first time, without power-/squatrack.. reaaal
smaart moove lol. First one was mildly heavy,2nd one was very heavy, almost
a failure but that didnt stop me from going for the third.. fuark i thought
i had it in me,was pumped up. Anyway as i was passing parallel line, when i
felt my back giving out (no belt), so i just squated atg & was going to a)
fall forward b) backward. Leaned backwards, all the weights & i slammed on
the floor... it was freeweights area tho : D
I was lifting in a backroom one time when I was 18, so like 7 years ago,
and I was repping 185 and I got up to like 6 or 8, or something. I can't
remember what number, and I was so hell bent on getting the next rep and I
tried, but I failed. Bar was laying on my chest, I had to roll it over my
chest and sternum area to start to sit up and right before I got to the
manhood area, I had to quickly get over that on to my thighs and then set
it on the bench. Did it twice back in those days. lol
yes it did happen to me 2 years ago hhh..and it was fucking hilarious!!!
the problem is that my friend didn't want to help me to raise the bar,
instead he kept laughing at me actually we were both laughing but i wish i
could raise it at that time..i've tried and tried till he finally decided
to give some help and take the barbell off my chest..you would think that
it was embarrassing but it didn't, maybe it will be embarrasing to be in
that situation in the future..I hope not..loool!!!!
Bro not goin to lie I was 16 doin 225 on the smith So I was on my fourth
set and was like you got this light weight baby. I did it twice, you know i
didnt leave my ego at the door, had to go for one more. Now remember I was
on the smith machine I coudnt bail out I couldnt even get it up high enough
to lock it on the pins. So im trying everything to get it off me Finally
after about literally about a min of humiliation some one saw me and helped
me out some 70yr old guy. lol
haha this hasnt happened in about 5 years now (of unspotted benching),
except about a week ago i was doing a 10x10 workout on bench with 160 lbs
(my max is about 260) and i think on the 9th set i went for that one more
rep and i could not get it back up. theres a small bed on one side so i set
one end of the bar on that and just kinda twisted out under the other
side... thankfully no one was there (in my home gym) cuz it was such a
light weight. rather embarrassing haha.
I'm a big dumbbell guy, I never tried benching with a barbell before, until
one day I decided to try it, unfortunately when I'm on my last set, I was
not able to lock my elbows when I was doing the last rep and they gave out,
so I placed the barbell on my chest and shouted out "BRO... SPOOOOOT!!"
luckily there's someone watching me while I was benching and he said that I
was not holding the bar well so I was not able to maximize my strength, I
was so freakin embarrased.
Yep. First time I went to the gym when I was 16, place was deserted, I was
so psyched on being INDAGYM that I loaded up 2x 15kg plates on the incline
bench but forgot the bar weighed an extra 20kg. So I de-rack the fucker
thinking "wow this is heavy", perform the negative and BAM I'm stuck to the
bench with no one in the gym for help. Ended up having to roll it down me
and shuffle my butt up the bench until I was pretending to do shrugs to
save my embarrassment :/
did scull-crushers after a load of benching when my tri's were already
fried. The weight somehow ends up hovering just about my neck, and i had no
way of moving it because it was caught between my chin and the bench arms.
About 10 minutes pass until i swallow my pride and call someone. It was
lightweight so i wasn't in danger, but it made it more humiliating when
someone lifted it off one handed.
1:04 F-bomb slipped through the radar! My lift fail was when I was first
starting out, I was on the bench and my second to last rep on my last set
got half way up, then slowly came back down. I had to set the bar on my
chest and roll it off me. I ended up asking a guy walking by if he could
help me re-rack the weight. Awesome video as always, keep that energy level
and charisma going!
Ye i just lay there with the bar on my chest pushing up trying to stop it
crushing my chest for like 5min because i didnt want to make a scene, then
some guy came along chuckled and said "never seen that move before looks
like a good exercise". He then pulled the bar off me and said its happend
to him many many times before (he was in his 40's and build like a frickin
tank).
Great video my man!! Along with the mental barrier I suggest people read
the slight edge. The basics of the book advocate that in any single day
what we do wont make a difference one way or the other. However, compounded
over time is what makes the difference. Whether you improve or not, it is
the repeatition of anything that makes the differences over any period of
time.
i was benching on my last set and im like pshh i could do a few more reps,
after doing 2 more reps, i was pushing up, and my arms stopped half way and
lil by lil my arms were going down, im like fuck! fuck! fuck! i almost snap
my freakin neck, so i turned on the side, dropped the bar and the weights,
everybody looks, im like FUCK ALL YOU GUYS for not helping me!!
I just started lifting and i was bench pressing .i was with some basketball
players and my brother they were all talking like 10 feet away . And i was
trying to force out a rep and failed i had to scream to my bro to get me he
was embarressed and so was i -___- the basketball players were making fun
of me D:
Did close grip bench that was the last sets of my total workout so i wanted
to give everthing. It was late too so there were only 4 people in that gym
section. Then after going to failure failure i couldnt get bar up anymore
so i had to wait like 30 sec till sb came and helped me :-)
It's true. I have watched nearly all other popular channels, but yours is
the best. I like that you back your claims scientifically, and by looking
the part. It's my favorite fitness channel by a mile, the only one I'm
subscribed to. Lol. Keep up the good work!
When I was a teenager I had a few beers and thought, "Hey, maybe I should
try and do a bench press!". .....Don't do that, peoples. My strength gave
out and I had to roll that shit off me while holding it up as much as I
could so as to not crush myself.
Its like this: Waters great for you, its absence is a terrible thing, and
can affect your body in very bad ways (it DEPENDS on it), so drinking
doesn't automatically boost your metabolism, it is however necessary for
you. Drink it because its amazing.
My boyfriend was lifting too heavy on the decline bench last week. Although
I was spotting him at the angle the weight was too heavy for me to lift off
him so I had to stand up on the bench to lift it. I felt embarassed for
him.
I was benching 700lb and on my 15th rep it stuck on my chest. No one around
was strong enough to spot it so I rolled it on my neck and forced it up
with my adams apple. Btw I am 5-3'' @ 132. Just graduated middle-school
I was benching 185 and I thought I could do a couple more reps and well i
couldent...luckly the bench had 2 sets of hooks to place the bar one up
high and one down low...so I just placed them on the lower ones and yea
Happened on my calf raise machine and bench press, i had 3 weeks off
training and instead of taking it easy i was over ambition on the weight.
Lets just say i worked my chest like i did'nt before oowch that hurt.

happened to me too! it was a weight i thought i could move up to, but to my
surprise that bar just wasnt rising haha. i had to bail out to the left,
plates went crashing, was pretty embarrassing lol
