Typical EHS school day for me back in early '80s, was cutting Mr Crincoli's
woodshop class. Then going 1st to Jerry's for a chili dog. Then walking
right next door to Tommy's for Italian sausage in the pizza bread. I live
in Northern Cal now. I was working in a customer's house, who was watching
Travel Channel. When they showed Jimmy Buff's Italian Dogs, I started to
get a little homesick.
Nice Tribute, Mike. You made me proud, and you also made me very hungry.
LOL I use to wait on Chris at Finangles---Sorrentos made the best eggplant
parm, and Elizabeth folk do have attitude. I also make sure I get Jerry's
or a Tommy's when I'm in town. Ya know, there is only 1 Tommy left. Joe
Spirito!!!!! How cool is this. Can just cry my eye out.
Nice job Mike. Brought back a lot of memories. One correction on the
Spirito Brothers. You said they were Sal, Lou and Tony. I believe Tony was
a son of Lou's and the third brother was Frank. One of the things I noticed
on my last visit to Spirito's was the boothes. They never changed, and I
laughed about the butter factor. Still no butter: )
This is a great tribute to Elizabeth Our family between the Villa Roma and
my self Beninato's endured alomst 50 year of restaurant business in
Elizabeth. But to look at Spirito's doing so may more it is amazing for
them to hang in ther for so many years through so many changes solute Cin

What a great trip down memory lane!! Spirito's was THE place in Elizabeth,
lines out the door. Being Lou Spirito's high school girlfriend had some
GREAT benefits. Hope you enjoy seeing this Lou!
