Got a Scaling & Root Planing in early 2011. Periodontist has been maintaining my teeth every six months since then. Though skipped my last visit to get my abscesses under control. Planning to go back shortly. Since things seem to be healing up okay. I specifically asked him about this tooth #19. He shrugged. He also shrugged at all my other abscesses. On tooth #28, tooth #31, plus #3-7. His answer is implants. Or open surgery. I'm too cheap. My answer is curettage and save the original teeth.

MegaEvl1 - Can see how it looks like blood clots are being caused by me butchering my teeth. But that is not what is happening. The periodontal abscess is there already. From severe periodontal disease. A periodontal abscess is similar to any other abscess. If the crud can be bled out completely then it can heal. For now. This tooth was close to hopeless until I scraped it and bled it out. It's only other future was extraction. The tooth recovered and tightened up. I saved it's life.

The blobs are granulation tissue. Abscesses need to bleed out for the area to recover. BTW. The video is from almost a year ago and the teeth largely recovered. They are not loose anymore and have tightened up. But the lower alveolar nerve involvement is still there, intermittently, so have to go back and do the lingual side.
