Hi Folks. I had a plica removed in January and all the major structures in
my knee are normal, but I still have the same pain on driving a manual car,
operating the clutch and coming downstairs and upstairs too quick. For the
record I bought myself a Land Rover Defender 3 mths ago and just sold it
coz I thought my knee would be ok but the clutch is even heavier than a
regular car. I now got a 4x4 automatic truck
I'm 40 (39 at the time of the surgery). I'm sorry to hear about your knee.
The plicanectomy I had was very low risk and healed quickly, so if you have
confirmed plica syndrome it sounds like the surgery is a no-brainer.
I don't even think I had plica syndrome, it was just my ortho's theory why
I was having pain. But after the plicanectomy, I still have the knee pain,
so it must not have been because of the plica.
