Hi Eric, When did you scale back or stop taking pain meds? I am 72 hours post op from supraspinatus repair (partial thickness tear), acromioplasty, and subacromial decompression, all done arthroscopically. About 36 hours post op, I stopped taking hydrocodone because it made me feel quite sick, but my doctor suspects a migraine from surgery trauma was my real problem. My headache and light sensitivity were gone 60 hours post op, but my range of motion is still severely limited due to acute surgery-site pain. I am considering pain meds again to ensure my stretching therapy stays on track, but would like to solicit other opinions on the need for opiate pain medications 72 hours post op. I am curious to know if others needed opiates to complete PT in the first week. I was instructed to complete tables slides and outward rotation exercises starting yesterday, but haven't been able to overcome acute pain (partially driven by my own fear of screwing up my surgeon's good work). Eric, your own experience is appreciated as always.

+djshanklin I had to quit the opiate pain meds after 2-3 days due to nausea and vomiting. I was not comfortable but was able to do my therapy and sleep in a reclining chair without the meds.

Hah I like how that woman recording is hustling you in Spanish. Vamos! Adelante! Jkjkjk. Anyways it has been 6 months since my labrum surgery and I already started heavy weight lifting. My question do you still feel slight discomfort when stretching your arm all the way out? Because I do but that may be just because I need to give it more time. Anyways thanks for the update video.
