Fantastic interview Dr. Mercola. I was on the edge of my seat the entire
time! What a high quality interview. It was ground breaking for me, keep it
up! I love concepts like this because we've been told incorrectly for so
many years. I really do believe information like this will open up so many
doors for people, it's exciting.

Low Carb Cory is an entertainer, fitness & nutrition aficionado, and intermittent fasting (I.F.) expert from Wisconsin. If you like the videos and find them ...
I also have problems with gluten, I went on a low carb diet and felt great
which led me to demonize all carbs in general. Took me awhile to figure out
it was gluten bc I m not totally intolerent and it doesn't really bother me
right away(not til the next day sometimes) so I'd always blame it on
something else. No offense but for me low carb dieting is silly in
conjunction with intense workouts. I m a fan of fasting though, I did a
full 5 days to heal myself up after I realized gluten fucks me up
An endurance athlete...and swole? Sounds like an oxymoron/conflicting goals
to me (you seem to agree, since you pointed how how difficult it is to lug
all that muscle around on long treks). Endurance sports and bodybuilding
are in no way compatible. Endurance sports, by their nature, are extremely
catabolic. I, for one, am not built for endurance. I am built for short
bursts of high intensity, such as high jumps and/or sprints. I do not envy
you, my friend! Longest race I've ever done was a 6K.
The body can only store 100-200g of glycogen in the liver and another 400g
in the muscles, approximately...so what would be the point of carbing up
for more than a few days? I do not see the added benefit in this. It
doesn't take a week to fill up glycogen stores. That shit is ridiculous.
Arnold probably could store more glycogen then most people, though, because
of the copious amounts of muscle he had in his prime. Marathon runners
can't hold shit. They have no muscle. Just being honest.
Hahaha!I'm actually an Wisconsin alum, La Crosse represent! I tried out for
the football team as a TE and was 270 pounds and that was about 4 years
ago.Ever since TMW started doing IF, they introduced me to your old
channel, I've been hooked, couldn't get rid of that last 5 pounds around
the midsection. I'm currently 198 and stronger than I was at 270.You know
what they say, your body can do anything, it's just how strong your mind
is, or something along those lines.
You stated that you're going to carb up about 2 to 3 days before the 2
month mark. I know being an endurance runner, I usually carb up a week
before a big race, and work my way up for carbs on the night before to
store glycogen. I know when Arnold Schwarzenggar was bodybuilding, he would
actually carb up a week before as well. Obviously, everyone is different,
and you are your best personal trainer, but i'm just throwing in my 2
cents. Keep earning and burning!
Being honest is the same as being an asshole, I have no issues with that.
You are right, marathoners can't hold shit for glycogen, most of the time
they are toothpicks running around that are fat. I run marathons and
half-marathon, but I'm swole, AND IT AIN'T EASY BEING SWOLE AND RUNNING
ACROSS THE COUNTRY! Just saying everyone is different. Give it a go one
time, if you get the results you want, more power to you. If not, make
adjustments to get what you need!
Btw...endurance athletes do not carb up for the same reasons I would be
carbing up. I'd be doing it with the intent of NOT burning it
off...basically "topping it off" with the glycogen and *keeping* the
glycogen topped off for video shoot day. You would be doing it so you
wouldn't bonk out early in a race. Me = for aesthetics. You = to not crap
out 10-15 miles into a race.
You're not the only one with intolerant issues. I have problems digesting
potatoes for some reasons. I limit how many fries I eat too. Be grateful
you can eat almonds or walnuts because I can't. Peanuts are the only cheat
meal I eat nowadays.
No issues with potatoes here! I'm 50% Polish! That sucks that you can't eat
walnuts or almonds...I love them. I thought I was allergic to peanuts for a
while, but apparently I'm not, since I started eating them again a month
ago.
