chuck lidell uses Cross Pit...wich is the version for MMA athletes, I am
CossFit L1 Coach and also a Affiliate owner. I also fought both Boxing and
MMA...you have some good points, the programming can not just be
CrossFit...that being said, striking and diciplines in the martial arts and
technique..but overall for conditioning i think CrossFit is where its at.
Do some digging on this, this is not your old version of Cross Training...I
would like to know your opinion on this..great insights.
MMA training is about challenges. It's about now knowing what you're going
to get. So... Crossfit is all about that. So in the conditioning part of
training, it's the best thing for you. Then, of course you have to train in
the martial arts technique, sparring, so that you get the technique right.
But in terms of conditioning? Crossfit is the best. I'm a martial arts
instructor, and when I use Crossfit like warmups, fighting training. It
works. MMA it's the same.
You are correct. You are smart if you understand you need to eat right at
your age to kill your belly. Between I saw an interview with body building
champion where he talks about 7 odd foods he eats to keep his abs hard.

You do know that crossfit stresses working on your low rep deadlift, squat,
cleans shoulder press etc? It is a diverse training program, not just an
endurance one. However, there are programs, ones that are more specialized
with MMA in mind, that are better.
but you must understand crossfit increases the strength power of a mma,
boxer or any type of fighter. it increases there strength, speed and
increases there reaction time. So crossfit is good for mma.
Roll on the mat for jiu jitsu for one hour. Crossfit emphasizes functional
movement and for MMA there is no better functional movement than actually
working at your craft, not Crossfit.

Full ROM has been shown to be more beneficial when lifting than partial. So
you are correct in saying that you do not need full ROM to stimulate muscle
growth, however you will stimulate more muscles with full ROM. In answer to
your question, yes I have done close grip bench all the way down, it's much
more effective. Thank you for removing my earlier comment.
