Low Carb Diets and Coronary Blood Flow
Subscribe for free to Dr. Greger's videos at: //bit.ly/nutritionfactsupdates DESCRIPTION: Blood flow within the hearts of those eating low carb diets was ...
I took vegan advice and I did 2 fucking years of plant based whole food
diet. I stayed away from any junk food. The results? My diabetes got worse.
my HDL never went up to 40, my TG was always high around 150. never able to
lose weight. Then I took keto advice and I lost 30KG in few months, I am
off the diabetes pills, my HDL is now over 80, my TG is always below 100.
Fuck the vegan doctos. they actually ruined my health. people need to
understand vegan diet does not work for everyone, especially diabetic
patient like me.yeah fuck vegan doctors they are doing more harm than good.
Their life goal is to save animals, not humans.
+k lz Keto took my blood sugar from 250 to 110. The question about these studies is what constitutes a "low carb" diet. If they lower their carbohydrates, but don't take it low enough to get into ketosis, then they're doing it wrong.
How high in protein does a diet have to be to be considered a low carb
diet? I do body building and I'm a vegan, so obviously I eat alot of beans,
lentils, wheat bran, almonds and soy milk. My overall diet is pretty high
in protein and lower than normal in fat and carbs. But does that make it a
low-carb diet?
+Charles Okonkwo The level of protein has nothing to do with whether a diet is low carb. There are a couple of schools of thought. One is that "Low Carb" means 50 grams or less of carbs per day constitutes a low carb diet. Other schools of thought require the diet to be lower than 25, with some as low as 15 to be considered "Low Carb". Your diet, with beans, lentil, and wheat would not qualify as each of those is high in carbs.
Lol, dumbest study ever recorded! 26 people for a year......right...... And
atkins is old news. Keto diet is the way to go. High fat from coconut oil,
olive oil, fish oils, and real animal fat, moderate protein, no wheat or
grains and the carbs we get are from dark leafy greens, fatty nuts, berry
family fruits and depending on your activity level you can have 150grams of
carbs and still be in ketosis but if you are very inactive you may only be
allowed 20grams but on average i would say 75g and you people that think
keto dieters dont eat veggies, well ya know i could eat 10 cups of kale or
broccoli and still be under 75grams. But go ahead and count your calories,
because the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram of
water by one degree is exactly how the human metabolism works...... SMH!!!!
Humans were meant to run off ketones! Do you think babies are eating high
carbs? Do know why fruit is ripest before winter? Cause that is when the
sugar is most prevalent and we like the taste of it, so it would fatten us
up so we can survive off ketones when it was hard to hunt. We wernt making
banana bran muffins with fruit salad and a sugary ass yogurt every day.
And you morons know that cholesterol has nothing to do with having a heart
attack, it is the damage from your arteries that cholesterol heals so you
dont bleed to death!!! you keep damaging your arteries, the cholesterol has
no choice but to block everything. STOP DAMAGING YOUR ARTERIES
so what damages your arteries? well obviously nicotine but what else? Table
salt and not for the high blood pressure but because table salt has micro
glass and sand particles in it that tare your arteries so use pink
himalayan salt. AND last but not least SUGAR!!! and foods that get
converted into it, cereals, grains, flours, bananas, potatoes.. etc. they
damage the fuck outta endothelial lining. And i have all the studies for
reference. some of these studies have 80 000 ppl involved not 26 or
whatever this BS is. and dont take this baby aspirin a day BS one of the
most deadliest drugs out there and will kill your kidneys and doesnt
prevent cardio vascular disease. plenty of natural ways to thin your blood
pressure including WATER!!! anyways back on topic here.
Want to heal your arteries???? here ya go. Take coq10, l-lysine,
l-carnitine, REAL vit c with the bioflavonoids, omega 3 EFA ...etc those
are the main best ones and there are some other ones too. But doesnt listen
to me, just take your statin drugs, kill your brain with it, support big
pharma, die earlier, and think cause your number is lower youre healthier.
+jimmypig9 yeah, and I can present you with tons more studies that state the complete opposite. I'm vegan. I'm perfectly healthy, not losing my hair, teeth, or strength, and my digestion and physical recovery are better than ever. Do what works for you, veganism is working for me, and I love the fact that beautiful peaceful animals don't have to die in order for my stomach to be full.
+aattitude a keto diet one of the healthiest diets there are, second only to a pure meat diet//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22653255?dopt=Abstract//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2716748///www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16652223//journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0018604//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22653255?dopt=Abstract//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19099589///www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21794124?dopt=Abstract&holding=f1000,f1000m,isrctn//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21992535https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz7a9o7kqllt2v7/2014%20Volek%2C%20Noakes%2C%20and%20Phinney%20-%20Rethinking%20fat%20as%20a%20fuel%20for%20endurance%20exercise..pdf?dl=0//www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20071648//jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=205916 https://doc.research-and-analytics.csfb.com/docView?language=ENG&source=ulg&format=PDF&document_id=1053247551&serialid=MFT6JQWS%2B4FvvuMDBUQ7v9g4cGa84%2Fgpv8mURvaRWdQ%3D
+aattitude fat is a much better source of energy than sugar https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz7a9o7kqllt2v7/2014%20Volek%2C%20Noakes%2C%20and%20Phinney%20-%20Rethinking%20fat%20as%20a%20fuel%20for%20endurance%20exercise..pdf?dl=0
+george S 150g of carbs a day to be low carb, LMAO. low carb means not more than 30 to 50g per day. what u are talking about, is paleo. but i think u dont even know what u are talking about. so, switch ur lamp on, sit STILL and eat ur donuts! idiot!
+george S Are you retarded? I clearly said there are more high carb, low fat VEGAN athletes than low carb, high fat/protein athletes, dumbass. And even the meat eaters generally are high carb! Again, I guarantee I can double your list with vegan athletes. Wrong, wrong, wrong... the main cause of gut disease is a low fiber diet, and eating a high fiber, high carb diet does wonders for people with gut diseases. A high carb, low vegan diet, including wheat and barley, etc, is one of the healthiest diets mankind can eat for gastro interstitial health, including colon cancer prevention. Black people usually have more fast twictch muscle, but not sure if they have more muscle. They are the weakest race on average. That's why you see them excel in sprinting and basketball but generally fail in powerlifting, which east Asians and Cuacasoids seem to be strongest at.lol The reason we are unhealthier is not because people are gorging on oatmeal, wheat, and barley... it's precisely because we're NOT doing that- we are gorging on fried chicken, processed fats (incl. veg. fats), and only generation Y seems to be into fitness. Regardless, let me know when you meet an obese person who got there because s/he ate so much wheat and bread and no animals products. The oatmeal epidemic! haha!!! You're funny.I could accuse the dairy and meat industry of funding the paleo/etc movement bullshit just as easily. In fact, the dairy industry is extremely powerful and lucrative. There have been many vegan rebuttals to the "Steve Jobs was a vegan who got cancer" half truth. He actually got cancer before he was vegan, look it up. Either way, there is no fool proof way of preventing or treating cancer, but the science of the past 100 years to now says a diet close to the vegan diet is the best one to prevent most cancers. huh? Other way around. We and apes produce amylase in our saliva, which a big reason that we are separated from the true carnivores of the world. Furthermore, even omnivores eat very differently than what you eat- they have enzymes we don't that allows the digestions of bones, hair, and teeth. Good luck pretending to be a meat eaters. I would only do it if I have no other choice. For now, I will choose the healthiest, most successful diet known to mankind- the nutrient dense high carb, low fat diet.
+aattitude No, you are seriously stupid if you think there are more vegan athletes than athletes that eat meat. LMAO fuck you are dumb. American heart association LMAO! take the red pill dumbo. Do you think the AHA will ever come out and say becel and cheerios are bad for you when ppl trust that red heart logo on the cereal box which they get paid from general mills to have that BS logo on there and ppl would sue them. sugar and smoking is the number one stress on our arteries and we convert carbs to sugar. Steve jobs was a billionaire vegan with the best vegan chefs and vegetables available to him and he lived really long. ahahahhha. And we get alot of anti oxidants from berry family fruits, nuts, dark green veggies, and fish on keto diet..I also take natural vitamins and vitamin c complex with bioflavanoids. But Brain diseases are a bigger burden on healthcare than cancer and the low fat, low cholesterol, and statin drugs are the problem. wake up you stupid sheep. We have more gyms than ever before, we have more low fat products than ever before, we eat more multi grain products than ever before and we are unhealthier than we have ever been. oreos used to have lard in them, then switched to trans fat which is horrid and now it is some processed fat. try to find products that contain lard, beef tallow, and other animal fat products, you fucking cant. its all becel and homogenized fats and we have more diabetes than ever, more heart disease than ever, more brain disease than ever before, more autism in kids from modified soy protein infant formula. Soy is horrible for humans unless in the form of tofu where the estrogens get fermented out. China has got more american food products than ever and for the first time ever there are more fat people in china than skinny. and gorillas dont bake bread, I am against grains not fucking veggies for the 90th time. WE have more IBS, chrons, ultra colitis, celiac, and whatever other gut problems there are cause wheat is full of the round up ready poison and wheat 10 000 years ago didnt have that and it is all GMO nowadays. gorillas are 500 pounds of muscle cause they evolved to be like that. Usually black people have more muscle than other races too. it is genetic. And also gorillas have a special gut bacteria to break down all the fiber into short chain fatty acid for energy and a whole different metabolic system to process all the plants and insects and humans dont have this! That is why I eat high fat! we cant convert plants like a gorilla and we dont have four stomachs like a cow and cows make their own protein. I can keep throwing the book of stupid at you all day but you need to make a valid point here and you vegans never can LOL!
+george S butthurt for your backing out of the challenge I gave you? Make sense.I know you're stupid, but let me break it down- I'm talking about both performance/athleticism, and health. However, the fact is, athletes wear out their bodies because they overtrain frequently and damage their bodies in other ways like getting hit, breaking bones, etc, on a regular basis. That said, there are still tremendously more high carb, vegan athletes who compete at the elite level than there are low carb, high fat and protein athletes.Humans have generally eaten high carb diets with a supplementary addition of meats, especially fish, eggs, and the occasional large mammal. If you want to talk about evolution, we are primates, which have existed much longer than 2 million years, hence why our nearest relatives are 90% vegan, namely the bonobos, chimps, and gorillas.Lastly, don't try to make it seem like you have the bulk of health studies in your favor, because I can also easily beat you in that too- the American Cancer Society, the American Dietetic Association, American Heart Association, and basically the bulk of dietetic and cancer research suggests that a diet high in antioxidants and vegetables and low in meat is the optimal diet for cancer prevention. That is why the two most supported diets in the current dietietic world are the DASH diet and the Mediterranean Diet, which are low in fat and high in carbs. Where's your list?
+aattitude lol someone is butthurt. I am not a majority carcass eater, KEto doesnt have high protein. And the veggies we get are dark leafy greens usually. I can eat 10 cups of broccoli or spinach and still be low carb and I eat high fat from coconut, butter, heavy cream, nuts and olive oil. my main protein is from eggs, nuts, whey, and sometimes some meat at dinner. ketogenic eaters dont eat as much "carcasses" as paleo or atkins ppl. but anyways are you for health or athleticism....??? cause your kinda switching for your own benefit here. And there are paleo athletes but I dont believe in the paleo diet at all and as far as keto athletes I dont think there will be any cause it has only gotten known in the last 3 years and still not well known but I have seen stories where ppl have slowed there cancer and cured there tremors or seizures and tons of ketogenic cultures that live in there 100s and eat high fat from seals and walrus and are very limited in there vegetation and wheat.and thousands of years? well 10 000 years if you want to be accurate and we've been on this earth for 2 million years so 10 000 out of 2 million is pretty minuscule....like your brain
+george S MORON!!! Essentially ALL athletes die younger than most people anyway, because they push their bodies TO THE LIMITS. And I can name you way more athletes who died in their 20's, 30's, and 40's who were carcass eaters like you!Hey shithead, I'm still waiting for you tell me of ELITE LEVEL athletes on a low carb, high fat, high protein diet, and I GUARANTEE I will beat your list AT LEAST 2:1 with VEGAN high carb, low fat, low protein athletes. Oh and some in their 40's too.
+aattitude moron!!! I can name you tons of ELITE athletes that died in there 40s from cardiovascular disease and were high carb loading mutli grain eating sheeps like yourself. Actually im pretty sure Brian Maxwell invented the carb loading theory and look at how long he lived and what he died of. 100+ years of medical research lol fucking sheep, go take your pharma pills and feel fat and lethargic all day.
+george S people have been eating carb for thousands of years. Colder climates made some humans eat more fat and animals, but it doesn't make it optimal. You are going against 100+ yrs of medical and dietetic research by eating a low carb, high fat diet, which doesn't automatically make it wrong, but should raise an eyebrow.Lastly, name me elite level paleo athletes... I'm sure I can beat your list by a 2:1 ratio with high carb vegan athletes.
When I eat low carb foods my blood sugar levels are A++++ ....then as soon
as I put fruit, cereals (even if its weetbix and porridge), my sugar levels
go up quite a bit...low carb I have more energy, my joint pain goes away, I
just feel better. Oh I blood pressure improves...shall I go on??
+Siegfried Furtwängler Knappertsbusch you're just too damned smart for me...I can't compete. You're right...there are no studies that show carbs are bad and meat and fat is good. You got me.
+Blooze Daddy You just leave because you realize you don't have any studies to share. It's all too typical. Fat low carbers never have any scientific studies. Take care enjoy talking to others until they ask you for your sources and you run away again.
+Siegfried Furtwängler Knappertsbusch you cherry pick your science...I'll cherry pick mine. I have doctors on my side too..and nutritionists...and researchers. Now go back to your global warming and tin foil hat room and enjoy your day. I have to work...we "critical thinkers" do that....it's a blast...you should try it ! (now that your arm's grown back....the testicles will follow..don't fret)
+Siegfried Furtwängler Knappertsbusch wow....I don't know how to respond to such brilliant repartee` there Sigfoot. At least you didn't call me a "a looser"....that's usually what brilliant minds post on the internet.
+Blooze Daddy Blooze is an idiot. He keeps believing things because he wants to. Goes against all science. He's one of the people who believes the earth is flat.
I'll have you know I'm a very well educated 51 year old woman! I suspect you don't have Hypertension or any other disease for that matter. Good on you. These are my facts and my own experience with eating low carb food. It's right for me, I'm not saying it's right for everyone. So shut your f....n mouth!!
+Siegfried Furtwängler Knappertsbusch So what has this got to do with the heart or diabetes or an illness ill' just call you DICKHEAD, it rhymes nicely with your name.!! I monitor my blood pressure and blood glucose daily. Eating low carb keeps both stable...You are one sick man!!!!!! Now go and crawl back in your dark hole. People like you don't deserve to see the light!!!
+Mae K I lost my arm in a work accident eight years ago. I started on a low-carb diet and after two weeks my arm had completely grown back. I'm 34 years old, after eating low-carb I've also gained 7 inches in height. Now, just as you I have no proof, but who cares?
Is this technique good for skinny and hard gainer guys ? Is there any kinda
harm for them or something plus does is really helps gain for the skinny
ones
Waiting for the replies anyone help me
+Papa91echo It can work both ways.Fiber recruitment can play a HUGE factor in this.Strength training increases neural drive and increases muscle fiber recruitment, while sacroplasmic hypertrophy training increases cell size of the muscle, enlarging the actual volume of the cell.So if you have more cells to recruit and they get damaged and repaired, and the volume of cell increases, you will have a bigger muscle.
Sorry but anyone speaking in the negative towards this, is just an idiot. I
think it's awesome to study the science of everything and expand our full
capacity as humans, in any and all levels, especially our anatomy. Well
done guys keep em coming!
+Jeremy Dupas Hey man, no you don't need your veins for 02 exchange. The arteries will carry the blood to the capillaries (deep so they don't get occluded) then the deoxygenated blood will move on in to the veins allowing more oxygen to move in to the muscle. The deoxygenated blood will be stuck in the veins until the restriction is removed. Yes eventually the vein will back up - thus causing the cell swelling in the muscle, however the oxygen will still get to the muscles.
+Joshua Karstens YES, you can. Studies show that when you Restrict the arm, the muscles close to the arm, namely the chest or shoulders, are affected as well.
Can't occlude chest, it has too many attachments to the bone and blood flow isn't exactly as "linear" across the muscle as it is with the arms and legs - I'm an exercise physiologist
Blood Flow Restriction Training, Abs, Calves, and Meals: AMJ June 5th
I was recently asked about how my body has been responding to blood flow restriction training, so I decided to share my response in this video, plus share how ...
Fruitflow (from tomatoes) for healthy blood flow (anti-platelet aggregation)
Fruitflow harnesses the anti-platelet compounds of tomato fruit which “helps maintain normal platelet aggregation, which contributes to healthy blood flow.
