Because it's only multiplication, there is no order to the way you should do it.Just pick two complex numbers, and multiply them with one another. After you got the sulotion to that action, multiply it with the complex number you haven't used yet, for example:(1-i)(-1+i)= (-1)+i+i+i² = (-1) + i + i + (-1) = [2i - 2]Now you take this solution and multiply it by the one we didn't use:(3+i)(2i-2)= (-6) + 6i + (-2i) + 2i² = [ -8 + 4i ]
Complex Numbers: Multiplying - Ex 1
Complex Numbers: Multiplying - Ex 1. In this video, I do a couple examples of multiplying two complex numbers and simplifying!
@schlynn I looked through and the closest I could find to it was factoring
trinomials. I didn't see anything about binomials or binomial theorem. I
might have missed it, but I doubt he's made one since binomial theorem is a
little higher math than what his target audience seems to be.
Do you have anything with generating functions? Those are cool :) Another
question.. do you have these ready, or do randomly think "OK let's do some
complex numbers and upload to YouTube"
You should do a video explaining binomial theorem. I think it's pretty cool
and I'm sure a lot of your viewers would appreciate being able to expand
binomials this way. :)
Now... YAY MATH would like to introduce to you the imaginary number " i " ! Check out how we simplify expressions involving the square roots of negative ...
I have a question, I am stuck on one problem and i dont understand how to
find the end result. the problem is -4i(-9-7i)^2
I worked it out two different ways, but they dont match the answer choices
i have, so i feel im doing it wrong.
My first way i attempted to do is this..
-4i(-9-7i)(-9-7i) ------ I distributed -4i into the first set of
parentheses and then "FOIL" the solution into the second set.
(36i+28i^2)(-9-7i)
-324i-252i^2 -252^2 -196i^3
which then gave me this... -326i-504i^2 -196i^3
the second way i attempted was...
-4i(-9-7i)^2
(36i+28i^2)^2
(36i+28i^2)(36i+28i^2)
1296i^2 -1008i^3 +1008i^3 -784
and these are my answer choice options
A. 504-128i B. 504i-504i^2-196i^3
c. -128i D. -128-504i
welcome to the future of math. Great explanations and ability to reply
parts over and over. Math Teachers are obsolete and should be fired. I got
a B in my class PURELY by using patrick JMT videos.
in class a teacher is teaching like 20 people at the same time, and you are stressed probably cause you are not in the mood to study, its early morning, stuck with 20 people, bla blabut on youtube, its just a video you can control how freely you want, you can do it whenever you like, (probably midnight before tests lol) while eating your favourite junk food
+saldunlop That's probably because you can pause and rewatch certain parts in videos, unlike actual math classes where the teacher may be reluctant to go back due to time constraints
Pull out square root of 2 times i on numerator over square root of 3 times square root of 2 on denomenator. Square roots of 2 cancel left with i over square root 3. Multiply by square root of 3 over square root over 3 (don't want radical in denomenator). Comes out to square root of 3 over 3 all times i.
