Works like a charm I used a drill bit 2 drill in a 1- 1/4 screw almost all the way in & then used a the back of the hammer 2 yank it out & sure enough the lock came out with the screw attached 2 it.. :)

Also.what kind of screw.?.i tried sheet rock screw(long one) no deal..do they make a universal key i can buy..seems like a good thing to have..i do a lot of restoration, would like to be able to access water at will..thank you

I'm gonna try the coat hanger tomorrow and see if it works. I'm sick of my power company. as long as you place the meter back in the electrical box it's not stealing. as long as your being metered.

+nissan300ztt mine was shut off a while back they put this lock on the meter box my step dad broke it off and turned the power back on then a couple months later they found out about it shut it off at the pole when they do that you're fucked unless you know an electrician who will climb the pole and do his thing lolol you got to spend like $30 for the supplies you need to fix it tho XD not saying try it thats just my experience with power getting shut off XD

This is a different style of lock. The methods used to unlock them are completly different. Try sliding a credit card between the door frame and bolt.

I finds it better clockwise for where my camera is pointing during filming. Also in a live lock out event you mave have to pick clockwise to unlock etc... Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment.

Igual whish Internet knew this before disassembled everything ando had to drill a whole on that part of the ignition that was locking and preventing from turning, Italia disconected everything the ignition was locking and removed it, figured hot wired and bought ignition for +-$80.00 . Now I have got to figure out how to put everything back toghether, Italia hadas todo do something fast because I had todo go todo work. ...Wow. ...

Urm, we've owned two Cherokees and a Wrangler, and every time this happened it was because there was too much pressure on the steering wheel, I noticed in your video your steering wheel was inverted, probably was parked with pressure on the wheel due to being turned then locked by turning the key off. Try wiggling the steering wheel before ramming the key in the lock cylinder with a bulldozer.

+Steven Lamb well funny thing is that this used to happen once and a while, then it began to become more frequent, until I was totally locked out. then I did the hammer thing and I have never had a problem since.

Agreed. I had a '97 GC that often did this when the steering wheel would lock, all you have to do is unlock the steering wheel. They unlock at the same time, you just have to learn the sweet spots for your vehicle. My '99 Impreza and '84 Detroit are less picky about how to unlock it.

not really, it was only the last metal bit he grinded down, but could have just removed it as well.  as long as the other ones sit flush it's no problem.

Thanks for all your help on 1997 Saturn, which I have had since it was new. I was having a problem with it chiming after I took the key out, so I replaced the ignition cylinder, with your help, but it didn't solve the problem. I am wondering if changing the ignition switch might be the answer? Or do you have any other ideas?

Great video. I wonder if the procedure is the same for a first gen Saturn? I have a 95 SL that needs the cylinder replaced. I'm afraid to turn the car all the way off cause it has gotten stuck a couple of times. I just ordered the cylinder from Rock Auto for under 20 bucks; I'll give your way a try and report back, for those with older Saturns.

I was trying this last night with no luck, but my wire tool might have not been long enough. I could feel it hitting something on the inside, but I couldn't tell if it was the right spot. I also worry, since my key literally has no grip while in the cylinder. Right now, I can drive down the road, take my key out with no effort, and keep driving (which is why I want this fixed!). Any tips on what I can do to help pull out the cylinder. I was working with a flathead screwdriver, but was hoping there would be a better option.

I have a 2005, and unfortunately, it was too late for my year to get it done for free. Thanks to YouTube, it was actually an easy fix, and I didn't even have to get new keys. The dealership hooked me up with the keycode, and I set the tumblers and popped it in. Still, getting it some for free by a pro is always the best option

What kind do car you drive I have a saturn vue 2007 and about a month ago received a letter saying there has been factory defects on certain GM cars you should look up on line if yours is in the list if that's the case you can go to a GM certified dealership and have it fixed for free good luck
