And also, there was no genocide on the side of the Greeks. It was a war and people get killed. There was however a policy of genetic extermination on the side of the Turks. It's essentially a policy put into place in 1915 to eliminate anyone but Turks from Anatolia, especially Armenians, Kurds, and Greeks.

+Serkanbah Amittedly,their was a lot of intercommunal fighting on both sides,due to ethnic,religious,linguistic and cultural differences,as well as strongly held(and often fanatical)political viewpoints.The important thing now, of course,is to try to put aside past feelings of distrust and animosity and look to the future,if possible.This would,in my honest opinion,require concessions from both communities,respectively.From the Greek-Cypriots,this would have to include things such as a legally-binding constitution that offers safeguards to minorities etc;a PR voting system that gives all minorities a proportionate(rather than an excessive,veto-wielding,disproportionate)share of legislative and political power;and the establishment of some sort of tri-lingual federal arrangement,in which Greek would,of course,be the primary language,but also with Turkish and English included as part of the education curriculum(similar to the State of Israel,where the national languages are Hebrew,Arabic and English).As for the Turkish-Cypriot side,the concessions would have to include the phased withdrawal of the Turkish military occupation forces,and the removal of ALL the illegal Anatolian settlers,or rather,colonists,from Turkey(who have seriously altered Cyprus' demography and downgraded the place,being as they're mostly gangsters,crooks,dregs from Turkey's jails,scroungers,and idle,primitive low-lives).And finally,for the Turkish-Cypriots to accept their status as an ethnic/religious minority which,given that they'll be full EU citizens in a re-united Cyprus,should suffice more than enough to reassure them,and give them a genuine sense of security.And,when all is said and done,unless there is a solution to the Cyprus problem,all bets are off regarding Turkey's bids to join the EU,and for the TRNC to end its economic and political isolation.Period.
