Good review! I bought the 5# 8´6 few days ago. The rod is a real pleasure
to cast up to 10-15m but almost feels abit overlined when you want to cast
the whole length of your line. I am an average caster and can still get my
30yard fly line out but it doesnt feel nice to make those casts due to the
rod being overstrained. There´s one thing I dont agree with and thats the
markings on the rod. The black line on the blank has very little contrast
and is very hard to see when its darker outside
hi all, I got xfII #2 10ft, this is my FRN rod, one of the best for this
technique. I had opportunity to saw prototype last year(my friend tested
it), it was disgusting rod - overloaded, unbalanced rod, lot's of fish has
been fall. But XF2 is totaly different rod really one of the best for
FRN/CZN. Tip action is totaly different than other FRN rods - there is
really soft and sensitive tip so there is no problem to cast 12 FR. leader
with micronymps GJ greys-boys jiri"slinti" slintak
Glad you like it as I have already bought one, Im a crap caster so more rod
than I need but my older rods are far too soft which i dont like. One
question, why would a sinker cast differently to a floater. Only use
floaters myself, so far.

New Airflow 40+ Fly Line, shooting head Tested and Reviewed by Hywel Morgan
"The Airflo Forty Plus Extreme Distance Fly Line has a new improved design for 2011, that adds distance to the cast of everyone who tries one" says Airflo.
:-) I had gotten the 40+ Extreme in a 6 weight...and that was the only
fault I had with the line was the join point and I couldn't use too much of
a over hang, and after a season with it, it did crack on the running line.
Maybe I'll take another look at it. That's why I had gotten it for lake
fishing...90' just wasn't enough some days...
after i watched the video. I had to bought one of thoose lines. Got i
today. and must say is the best line ive ever bought!!! my setup is a
Fenwick ironfeather techna av saltwater class 7-8. With a airflo 40+
exstreme distance wf 8 floating. Casting 36 yards without leader and
fly!!!! it's a amazing fly line!!!
It's not the line that is impressive...it's the casters skill. Give him
another line from another brand, and he'll do exactly the same thing. Don't
underestimate the importance of the right casting tecnique. In other
words...don't ask what your line can do for you - ask what you can do for
your line?
even though you get the extreme distances with this line what is the
presentation like?? i have allways been a believer in presentation over
distance but if you get both with these lines i might consider one. i use a
greys 9'6 7wt platinum x rod which of the 40+ lines do you reccomend.
thanks.
Wish I could cast past 15 ft. Start started flyfishing this week
Happy birthday Hywel!
